Just be sure that you're ready to jump back onboard in case the stern line fails. If you use a long enough bow line you can just shut it down after setting the stern line, step off onto the dock, and pull the bow in with the bow line.
If You steer towards the dock, You can hit the dock with the bow. Steering to port gives You thrust, which, connected with an aft line pushes the boat equally towards the dock. Thanks for following and a comment 🙂

Pulling the boat in by hand in up stronger wind is pointless.
You said rudder to port, I wouldve thought that you should steer toward the dock
