The whole 2 tone ska movement originated in my home city Coventry in England in the 1980s and it was all about black and white unity through music. It was such a great time to live through!

Reggae and ska with the rude boys and skinheads started in the late 60s and then re-emerged with ska reggae and punk in the late 70s and 80s and then the skinheads got recruited by far right parties then all this nazi skin shit happens when really without reggae and ska there is no real spirit of 69 skin heads

Really appreciate you reacting to my request guys. This song came out late 70,s. The Specials were a big part of the British Ska scene that ran from late 70,s to mid 80,s. The Specials in particular were a very political group and do have a lot of fantastic tracks. Also around this time most songs released as chart singles were around 3 minutes long due to restrictions on air time on the radio. Most album versions are longer.

This is ska music, it came out in the eighties in England, a mix between Jamaican and English music, the black and white flag stands for black and white. Some people these day's could learn a few things from this.

This is Second Wave or 2nd Generation Ska out of the UK which was heavily influenced by 1st Generation Ska/Rocksteady/Reggae out of Jamaican immigrants to England. Then mix in 70's era Angry Young Man Punk and you have their work. I'd add that 60's and 70's era Jamaican music forms had a very subtitle impact (but not always recognized) on 80's era Hip Hop (and New Wave). Mainly in the forms of Mix and Remixxing.

England, at this time, was in huge cultural/social turmoil & change. 1st generation immigrants, especially, but, not solely, from the Caribbean, had grown up in English working class environments & this putting together of different cultures created sparks. Sometimes, these sparks resulted in violence & racial tension, but, also fusion & friendship & from that came UK Ska (e.g. The Specials).
These youth movements reacted to record levels of unemployment, war (Irish conflict - which brought bombings in England) & the destruction of old traditional industries, especially coal. At this time whole mining communities were crushed by the right wing Conservative government.
    England was basically in turmoil.

The whole 2 Tone Ska scene in Britain in the late 1970's and early 80's were mixed race bands opposed to racism with a common love of Ska music. A lot of UK punks bands who were also political and against racism took to playing some 2 Tone tracks themselves. The Specials had many hits whilst as The Special AKA in support of the boycott of the Apartheid South African G Government released Free Nelson Mandela. Sadly in the US free speech and having the freedom to boycott a system you disagree with in being made illegal by supporters of Israel's occupation of The West Bank and the largest open air prison in the world Gaza. I try to not buy goods from certain countries because of their actions that's my free choice but apparently its not okay to protest a nation breaking the Geneva Convention in America and its becoming illegal in universities whilst fair coverage in the US media is practically zero on this affair. Iran is a nasty theocracy but America and Israel's friends the Sunni dictatorships are nearly all far worse but you'd never know that watching tv, just look at the lack of coverage of Yemen.
