- Ramya Bopanna has experience in HR, entrepreneurship, social responsibility, and agriculture.
As a qualified HR professional, she operated an HR firm called Prospect in Bangalore, where she placed skilled professionals with industry experience into senior roles. Alongside her HR practice, she returned to her roots in agriculture and founded “Belli The Farmer” to address market gaps. This venture was incubated at NSRCEL - IIM Bangalore and accelerated by TechnoServe.
Ramya also studied entrepreneurship at IIM Bangalore and underwent further entrepreneurial training at various incubation and accelerator centers. She has been fortunate to have mentors who imparted invaluable business and life lessons to her. In this podcast, she fondly reflects on and shares these learnings.
Ramya discusses the importance of partnerships in business, emphasizing the need for the right partners to benefit both the company and its founders.
The podcast also explores her community-focused work through CII Young Indians (Yi) and the unique projects she spearheaded in collaboration with the Yi team, government bodies, and other organizations during her tenure as Chair of CII Yi, Mysuru Chapter.
Additionally, we touch on her selection from Karnataka for a Group Study Exchange program in the UK through Rotary International, where she experienced life in British homes, explored various counties, and met with the mayors of several cities.
No conversation with Ramya would be complete without discussing agriculture in Kodagu and the lifestyle changes occurring there. As a proud Kodavathi and farmer, Ms. Bopanna shares insights into Kodagu’s culture, its demi-gods, and the sacred forests known as Devara Kaadu.
