#onewheel #onewheelgt #onewheelpintx - กีฬา
Thanks for dropping by folks. Hope you enjoyed the convo. We'll keep doing these!
Please do! I love yall somewhat or totally addressing the communities concerns
So stoked to listen!!! Thanks for getting these on Spotify too!!
One wheel is the "knock off" since the original was patented in 2001. Combined with self sabotaging boards and I'm happy to support the "Chinese knockoff" with more speed, range, torque and customizable motor settings. Especially when you guys only do the last little bit of assembly in the USA to claim it's made here.
Won’t even let us check out battery health lmao literally the heart of our boards and we can’t even make sure our cells are up to par.
Blows my mind
When you guys having Jeff Mccosker on the podcast?
Jeff would keep it way too real for FM
This podcast is an echo chamber for onewheel, they don't want to hear the truth Jeff has to say
Good to know you guys are open to the conversation.
Why you guys don't consider battery Cell info and comprehensive logs / error codes, essential info to have by all of us?
I wanna know your thoughts on this.
Hahahahaha open to conversation? Hahahaha. You must be new
I think it’s important you guys realize that aftermarket rails are here to stay, and so by withholding the ability to re-calibrate what the IMU perceives as level only serves as an extensional threat to Onewheel, as people will inevitably seek out ways to hack your software or come up with potentially dangerous hardware mods to achieve that goal. Please, there’s no good reason for this not to be a feature in Custom Shaping 3.0. 🙏🏻
This
All I want for Christmas is an open API for bluetooth communications with the board to make fun things for the community.
Can someone explain why we can't see our battery health? It's literally a safety issue lol
A vesc one wheeled board isn't infringing on a fm product. It's a separate experience and you are stopping it.
So when will we get the diagnostic information we used to have? Why is it locked away from us? Why do I have to find an outlet when I'm in the middle of timbucktoo to check my board temperatures?
Hey Ashton, not sure if I 100% understand your question because if you go into your board diagnostics (gear icon near your boards name or number) you can see the battery, controller, and motor temperatures. Also if you're riding in Timbuktu, that's amazing. Would love to see some footage of you riding there1
@@Onewheel Your 2 last sentences are the difference between a polite answer and being a dickhead, sarcasm wasn't needed. Keep showing everyone your true colors.
I'm genuinely not sure if I was understanding the question correctly since you can see those temperatures in the app. Also, I was serious about seeing footage of them riding in Timbuktu as they mentioned in their comment. Apologies if that came off as rude - Lazor @@bo1273
@@bo1273dude you’re a clown…..
@Onewheel he was referencing how we used to be able to see individual battery cell health in the app
Why did you remove cell voltage monitoring? What other features do I get to look forward to losing in the future?
Well parts are serialized and paired now meaning you can't drop in replacements like you could with earlier versions of Pint and XR.
Along with taking out cell voltage they also took out the ability to recalibrate the board (without their proprietary in-house only tools) which can be very useful and save alot of money if for some reason say there is a bit flip that changes the calibration.
This really needs to change, it’s a safety issue.
Love the progress in the direction of repairs. You guys have been taking a lot of heat lately, I think continuing transparency to dispel any misinformation you guys are seeing out in the wild would also be good for everyone to hear.
Totally agree Bob. We'll keep at it. Thanks!
Transparency hahahahaha
@@Onewheelwhy don’t you reply to any other comments????
I love my Pint X, knowing that there is an issue with the balance cables etc. Maybe, the main issue for FM is that they (for now) don't have service centres. Can you imagine sending your BMW from te US to Germany because there are problems with the sparks? Just a thought.
Totally get where you guys are coming from about protecting IP and obvious patent infringements. However, what I do disagree with is about knockoffs being bad. Knockoffs are GREAT. They do several things, all which not only benefits the consumer but also the manufacturer.
1) The crappy ones make the original manufacturer look better because they (OEM) initially have a superior product
2) Once the others finally catch up in quality, it motivates the OEM to keep innovating and keep moving forward.
3) It gets more people involved and the sport grows. A rising tide raises all ships in the harbor…. unless you were already a sinking vessel.
Embrace the competition! Be confident in the vision and see that as welcome motivation to strive to always be better.
Not if someone dies on one because the put it together wrong. Whole sport gets banned
@@Ty-ye8rd anybody can put anything together wrong at anytime, with every product, in every sport.
making boards as safe as we possibly can but dont have duty cycle built into the onewheel app🤣🤣🤣
yeah we need that baaaad
"Not all the thoughts in your head are yours..." - Gibbs, Homeless Santa Cruz Man
This is no difference than the first car. You can only design a one wheeled board one way. You created a cool product but if someone else builds one using 0% fm products it should be allowed
Someone else patented the one wheeled skateboard in 2001...
Henry Ford?
So many things wrong on so many levels.
The best was: "cars are well understood, there is a lot of heritage here".
You're gonna tell me that cars are less complicated than onewheel and that people couldn't modify them from day one? Lolololol. Such a bad argument.
I think it says it all. What's troubling me is that they seem really genuine thinking it's true! I think that says it all.
It feels more monopolistic to me. You have to be better than the competition, not preventing them from growing at all.
You can't be better if you refuse to compete.
at least ur talking abt it. but stop the law suits cause i’m not buying jack from y’all then
I'm excited to see what's coming up for the future of OneWheels. Thanks for the update & providing some clarity!
Are you having any plans to work with some of the shops that already exist working on onewheels?
To be fair here I’ve always recognized this legal portion of your decisions and have defended them for your own company’s liabilities.
We have existed almost as long as you at this point.
Yeah what he said 😅
Hahahaha
Give me back the ability to use the device I paid for. I do not want to update the app. I do not want to update my firmware. I want to use the device as was when purchased to the extent it worked when I purchased it. The app update splash screen is removing functionality I paid for.
Yeah its dumb that a large group of onewheelers have to disable internet now before launching the app. But FM just points the finger at CPSC and the CPSC doesnt answer FOIAs so what ya gonna do..

I’m very new to onewheel. I’m a huge fan. One issue I have with videos like this is the editing. If you are seemingly gonna have a legit candid conversation, don’t edit the video. You are obviously editing things out hundreds of times. And it bad edits at that. Come on guys. Makes you look bad.
This is a good point. We tried the new ai. software that edits out filler words like 'umms' ect. but it came out a little choppier than we'd have liked.
I prefer the AI editing over leaving the spurious "umms" in previous recordings.. Keep on using it, or practice not filling empty space when talking. :)
If we could just level for aftermarket rails would be a huge step
It’s coming.
@@marcstafford3675 really? I hope so. I know someone can figure a way around it

With the launch of the gts, the only main feature (software) that vesc has that the future motion boards dont is ATR.
Give the GTS an ATR feature.... plz thx 😅
(Ps thank you surfdado)
Why not upgrade to a vesc?
Surfdado should patent ATR
How much has FM spent on their Legal Team, C&D and Lawsuits?
13:06 Kyle describes why they don’t sell a Pint Drop Top fender.
Whatever happened to that? Didn't they C&D Jeff and force him to stop selling the Pint drop top? I think there's an opportunity here to finish this story for the benefit of everyone. I had to beg some random guy from Canada to ship it to me years ago. I felt like I was importing illegal drugs or something. Now, TFL safely sells GT droptop that coexists with FM GT crop top fender.
Did FM and TFL squash the drop top drama? Yall gonna work together, let bygones be bygones and give us a drop top for Pints? Shoot FM can release Pint crop top for straight rails and Jeff can give us Pint droptop. Everyone wins: FM, TFL, Pint riders, everybody!
That's one easily unresolved beef that would mend relations easily.
@@sdmods619FM blocked the drop top sale in US, but it is sold for pint/pint x on the tfl eu and tfl canada sites
Please make the controller and battery from GTS available as a modular upgrade for the GT please 🙏🙏🙏
GT-S also has a new motor design (stated by FM, and TFL opened one up to verify), and new wiring to handle the increased voltage. You couldn't just drop a GT-S controller and battery into a GT and make it perform like a GT-S. Only the "frame" or exterior of the two boards is the same. All the "guts" are different.
So cool to hear from Kyle and Jack about all current things in the Onewheel community. Very interesting to hear behind the scene of the Onewheel and patents
Cheers Scot!
@@Onewheel yet they don't mention the mysteriously similar device patented in 2001. I'll never support these people who claimed someone else's invention as their own and brick customer boards on top of that
Fan boy warning!
Very much appreciate this podcast - thank you for the communication and measures being taken to ensure safety and integrity of the onewheel product. I’m grateful for pushback and haptic feedback, especially when I introduce my GT for new riders.
Love my Gt but honestly am hesitant on getting the gts for it having less range. @Onewheel are you guys planning on making a board with gt range and gts performance in a future model? Would be lit!
Pint x custom shaping please
Would be pretty sick...
Fr!
Is that not possible to have custom shaping on pint x? @onewheel Or at least single sensor engagement because on my GT ever since I switched it to single sensor I’ve had the best experience in cold weather! Love that option. I would love that on the pint x too. If not possible it’s cool. We just want a solid answer.
@jovannyherrera4589 ReWheel had (basic) custom shaping and posi before FM released theirs, so yeah, totally doable. I would argue they learned quite a bit from ReWheel devs work. The question is, does Julian want to do it?
Never gonna happen, due to the marketing concept called product segmentation... if you want it get the GT.
This is great stuff! When will we get the ability to level the board for aftermarket rails? Only thing stopping me at the moment from getting the new board.
Right? They cost themselves money by blocking out mods lol.
They’re supposedly working on it, from a source. A lot of people have been clamoring for this, and I think FM realizes that angled rails are here to stay, so withholding such a feature anymore only hurts them, especially since people are actively trying to hack their software and hardware for this purpose.
@@marcstafford3675 this likely means they are working on angled rails themselves. Not bummed, but keeping my fingers crossed that the feature is compatible with AMs.
I will close my eyes on everything if y'all let me re-level my GTS for angled rails
I bet they will soon
They're seeing this request everywhere. If they don't have input on it or respond to comments, that means it's not happening any time soon.
Noted
@@Onewheelplease allow re-level for all boards, there are angled rails for Pint/PX too. All boards should have at a minimum posi & re-level options. Custom shaping for Pint/PintX would be next level. I love my Pint X! Thank you, your hard work is very appreciated!

We‘re in Australia. We’ve had 3 warranty claims (one just outside of the warranty period) and we’ve had 3 NEW boards arrive at our house within 7days or so. Very impressed!!
Glad to hear it's been smooth sailing for you. We've been working hard to improve after sales support. Cheers!
I love the GT S Series. ❤❤
The performance treaded tire has been a great. It is very responsive, and gobbles up the trails! 🦃 Thank you for making this in the USA 🇺🇸
I wish you would make the new bumpers, spec for the GTS. 😍
You mean doing the last little bit of assembly in the USA?? All of the parts are manufactured in Asian countries
Thanks you guys, and seriosuly, for taking the time to compile and address a lot of the community concerns in a video, it has helped me better understand your position, and y'all should definitely keep doing these. I feel the biggest question many of us have at this point, is about issues like the swapped-from-conventional battery connectors, or the "corrupted memory" errors on GT when disconneting the battery. These are real, in-the-flesh things, that appear to only exist to frustrate those who want to try to disgnose issues with their board more closely (and blow past the warranty stickers anyways), and would seem to make no difference to those who'd obey the warranty stickers and just want to ride-- would love to hear discussion on this.
Preach!
I got the PX last October and been loving it. need to upgrade the tire to a threaded though so i can enjoy the trails more
Buy an Enduro !!! it will change your life.
So what would be the reason the OTA stopped the the option for digital tilt? The only reason can be you don't want us the use 3rd party rails... But why? Those rails cost 300 to 400 dollars. actually it's the only reason I don't update, i really wouldn't mind to have haptic buzz but i need the option to digital tilt. Maybe you can implement it in the one wheel app
I absolutely love my S Series. So much that one day after receiving, I promoted the 30 day Bowtie Challenge in San Diego under Fun Culture and gave away a brand new engraved GTS. A spot that all of the factory team, but Neil, had layed down times in 21. The all time record was beat. A GTS was won. We asked for zero from vendors. All because of stoke. Huge success. The champion reel I posted has more views than this podcast at the moment of this comment. It would be nice in the future to be acknowledged by you (Future Motion) as a company because something special was going on during your very busy month and Id hate for you to not tap in to that Fun instead of the negativity . A GT won the challenge with an astounding 2:06.
Jack and Kyle are such buds ❤ I like my GTS alot , stoked.
Appreciate the video. I did order during Black Friday I wish would’ve know about the OW electric screw driver. You guys have to promote the parts and supplies.
The Electric Screwdriver just released on Wednesday! But we can promote parts and supplies more still :)
My pint doesn’t charge, and the onewheel app only keeps showing me a video and won’t allow me to do anything else… what’s up with all that??? Am I doing something wrong???
The feeling of Riding a Onewheel is an amazing experience.
Why not give you the choice to do or not do these updates knowing that it will have repercussions on the ride and that many of us do not necessarily agree to apply these updates not obviously because they are not good but quite simply because the configuration with which they rode suited them perfectly...
Forced updates, whether for the application or for the Firmware, I don't understand why Future Motion does this and doesn't leave users the freedom to keep their old configuration whatever the Onewheel purchased?
As said in the video about haptic buzz, they didn't have the choice. It got enforced by law. One more reason to VESC though! 😁
Love the podcast! LOVE my GTS! Love this discussion!! …but I’m sorry for the circumstances that warranted this video 😞 Excited for the direction and innovation with the Onewheel!!! Keep the bangers coming! 🤙

Rewheel wasn't "wholesale trying to build their own onewheel" or directly infringing or anything like that, why did you guys need to take it down? Sorry if youve already addressed this somewhere
I'm sorry of mad that the pintx never got any love
The person on the left talking about quality control and major flaws in competing products is being kind of hypocritical when you know the Pint X has a major and dangerous manufacturing flaw that the company hasn't publicly addressed.
Listening to a dictator tell his people, who are calling for a revolution, why they are so lucky to be in a dictatorship and how great they have it.....
xenophobia seems like a genuine concern with Kyle speaking about his opinions on Chinese manufacturing. Also, legit question, where are you products made? (not designed or assembled)
Kyle talking about people trying to build a knock off version of the onewheel... isn't the onewheel just a knockoff version as they existed before Kyle "invented" the onewheel?
Talking about how dangerous it is for other companies to build their version of an item is crazy. Has he forgotten that numerous car manufacturers exist?? Yes some are lesser than others but competition and consumers will decide what companies come out on top.
Honestly the more transparency the better. Even if it is going to be something a group of people aren't going to be happy about we would rather hear its coming and why than just discover it in a firmware update. Would save us all some anger and drama. And if we cant have competition just more transparency about what is going on and what is coming would go along way in rebuilding the community and this sport that belongs to all of us
Awesome Pod. I am so in love with my S Series board, looking forward to many more miles, this board is a game changer for me.
Did you have something before? If so, which one?
I'm on the fence here...
Pint X and GT. Let me tell you, the flow and fun you have on the GT-S is so damn good. You just really get immediate confidence with the board and always feel like you have so much power on tap regardless of terrain. While the GT is still amazing, you do find yourself on the edge of the mechanical power on many occasions and have you be more cautious not to over exceed its abilities, the GT-S eliminates that all together. Does not make the GT bad, but for me being a 200lb rider, its a big change. @@BeelzeBob420
Great podcast. But please tell me some there is something coming for the PintX. Maybe custom shaping, a bumper with a handle would be a nice start..Pretty please....LOL
Heck yeah. After skating since my early teens, i got way used to using the OG Pint's finger hole, letting me grip it like a skateboard. 'Not sure why they removed it on the 'X, as there's plenty of room there.. They could even make it deeper, & more comfortable.

Why is Future Motion so cringe?
You guys could own the market completely if you just get better customer service and support. There are too many stories shining you in a bad light.
Our Customer Support admittedly had growing to do in our very early years. But honestly, that was a while ago and it rocks now. This is fully in-house team of specialists. They literally sit like 10 feet from me haha. I’m certain it would be a lot cheaper to set up an email/call center in another country to handle communications, but we don’t do that. Never will. Because we care and we want the best customer support experience possible.
I think what gets mixed up sometimes is when people don’t like our policies, they make a blanket statement that our Customer Support is lacking. Policies are something we discussed in this video, but one thing I am not shy to say is that the Customer Support team is DIALED. Within business hours, you can almost always get a technical support response the same day as the initial ticket, and a for a phone call, talk to a human within seconds.
Anyway, they’re stellar humans and I’m lucky to call them my friends. They have to deal with some crazy circumstances sometimes and I respect the hell out of them for it. Sure, not EVERY person will be happy with what they have to say sometimes, but like we said above, we have to implement solutions to make the MOST people happy. It’s a delicate balance and I think it’s just one of those things where a bummed vocal minority is louder than a happy satisfied majority, which, to your point, there are still too many of. So, we’re always considering new solutions, policies, and ways of thinking to shine them in a good light because people deserve quality care and the Customer Support team deserves all the love and praise we can throw at them :)

I'm not sure that's quite the analogy. Apple didn't invent the laptop so they wouldn't be within their rights to do that. Still, we discuss what you're getting at a bit in here. The quick summary is that knockoff products are generally bad for the industry as a whole. Especially in a moment of intense scrutiny. We just got done convincing the US Government that these things should exist. If you want a thriving and sustainable future for Onewheels, you should be rooting for us.
Hopping back in as this just came to mind:
For what it’s worth and, not saying this is you at all, but what some folks seem to believe is that we are some massive megacorp like Apple. When in actuality, there are maybe ~30 people at the HQ. We’re tiny. Barely scratching into the mainstream. And we’ve poured just about everything we’ve made right back into this thing. This is our baby and my coworkers are my family. We simply will not stand for it being plainly stolen.

"hundreds of thousands of onewheel riders now..."
Only thirty employees, damn.
@@Onewheeland FM didn't invent the one wheeled self balancing skateboard.
Agree with you guys 💯%!
thanks for covering the legality topic. I think the majority of enthusiasts who are frustrated with your practices don't understand how close we are to ruining it for everybody. In a very real way, PEV's will either be illegal in the coming years altogether, or they'll be legal thanks to Onewheel.
It's simply not comparable to adjacent industries like cars, bikes, and motorcycles because the legal protections aren't in place yet. Playing it safe in the meantime like y'all have been is a critical move and I hope it results in the legislation we need to have a more open industry one day.
