You picked my favorite spot for tamales. Been going here for about 46 years. They are absolutely my favorite. Great family, Suzie is awesome. Just off Michigan avenue at the old train station (the new Ford building) stay to the right as you pass the Ford building right past there is La Tamaleria Nuevo Leon. Best tamales!! Honey Bee market is just a few blocks away down Bagley, you'll get all you need there for your Mexican cuisine, and then some. Also, my favorite store. Years ago the store used to be really small, they're business has always been real good, so they made the building bigger. Go there for sure, you'll be happy you did. Great stop!! 🫔🇲🇽🌯🌮
The tamales are so good and Suzie is awesome! I love honeybee market too. I really want to do a review of their food counter but I've never had any food from the counter. Just got groceries from there. Thanks for checking out the video!
Have you heard about Taqueria El Rey? A group of co-workers just had lunch there at the Detroit location, they said it was delicious 💯 Thank you for this video, looks delicious!
You have to try Duly's Place Coney Island. It's in South West Detroit, on Vernor and Junction. BTW, cheese tamales are typically made with Oaxaca Cheese, very similar to mozzarella cheese and they sprinkle some jalapeno bits in with the cheese. That might have been the one that got you there in the end.😂
Your chan is the koolest and this is why. As a lower eastern Michigander it is awesome to watch you visit spots that I've driven by numerous times and always wanted to drop in and give um a try. Try LaShish in Dearborn on Michigan Avenue. Nicely seasoned lamb chops (well done for me), deboned chicken are ordered on abundance.
Thanks! Always trying to highlight what we have around the city! There's so many good places to eat around Metro Detroit! I haven't been to La shish in years but I remember it being really good! I'll have to put it on the list! Thanks for the recommendation!
It's probably been about 10 years since I've been there but I do remember those Tamales being so good! It's crazy to see you doing a food channel! I used to follow your fpv channel! Both channels good stuff! 🤘
They are some really good tamales! Right on man. Thanks for following both channels. I haven't done anything on the fpv front lately but I still have all of my drones And still love flying.
They are great standard for me.....but I like La Gloria also, I grew up around here......Grade School St Anne. H.S. Holy Redeemer. Cash only no Credit Cards.
So I grew up in Southwest Detroit and went to Western high school graduated in 82, I never knew of place where you can get tamales other than the Mexican restaurants on Bagley, my mother made the best tamales, she did everything old school.. my dad worked at GM, and she would have him sell a dozen for $7.00 that was in the 70s and then the 80s it went to $10. She would sell out in a week. I guess I better go try this place. Hope they're authentic.❤😅
@NATL-q6o we do too, it's a process. And people expect them to be cheaper than tacos? Ppl will pay more than $2 for a good taco but not willing to pay more than $2 for a tamale that takes a good day to make properly.?
Telways went down unless those burgers are coming stra6off the grilled their horrible. Telways need to get larger cups for the increase price of the coffee. They definitely went down since Earl pass. Motz's on Forts streets are way better.

My family loves them too! They're so good. Thanks for checking out the videos!
Good job Lee
I'm looking forward to seeing some local pizza places - especially leading up to the Super Bowl. Go Lions!
That's it. We need to find out where to get the pizza when the Lions play! I'll put up a poll. Thanks

Detroit and Chicago are meccas of Tamales. Nuevo Leon Pork Tamales is great and so is Evies! Nobody can go wrong at either hot spots.
Where's Evies licated?
They are both really good
@@terescunningham4631 On Bagley across the street from Lupitos and another place in Mexicantown. Xochimilco is diagonal from there.

I have yet to try an authentic tamale and that looks so good. Born and raised in Detroit, so thank you for putting me on to these restaurants!
Thanks for checking out the video! Hope you get to try an authentic tamale one day
My family would hit La Gloria when in the area. Just a few blocks away. You could have had a tamale off.
La Gloria is awesome too! That would be fun. Get a bunch of different tamales and have a shootout! Thanks for the idea
Definitely a good place. Ever checked out the Green lantern pizza on 12 and John R? Amazing. Best pepperoni
I haven't had their Pizza in years. Thanks for the reminder! It's definitely good
Try Evie’s Tamales at 3454 Bagley. I grew up two blocks from there, and they are the best I’ve ever had, next to mi abuela!

Delicious
Their tamales are good, check out Prince valley market in southwest detroit, the have good tamales as well
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll have to try them out..
$20/dz is kinda crazy. I stopped buying when they got to $17/dz two years ago. They are good though.
Prices have gone up everywhere for everything it seems. these are definitely good!
I hate seeing prices go up too. But honestly that's a good price for a dozen tamales. They have to make a profit too.
I make my own Tamales
@NATL-q6o we do too, it's a process. And people expect them to be cheaper than tacos? Ppl will pay more than $2 for a good taco but not willing to pay more than $2 for a tamale that takes a good day to make properly.?
@powderdays7557 It is a lot of work to make tamales. I spread it out over two days to make it easier.
Try southern smoke on burt and,6 mile and every thing turkey on livernois

Telways went down unless those burgers are coming stra6off the grilled their horrible. Telways need to get larger cups for the increase price of the coffee. They definitely went down since Earl pass. Motz's on Forts streets are way better.
Those are the most authentic ones in SW. They are made by hand every morning and the elder women make them and start at 5am just like grama

Hola, Tubers! Any ideas where I can find authentic Puerto Rican pasteles in Great Detroit?!
Good question!
mmmmmmm....
Mexican Village
Thanks for the recommendation! I love Mexican village! Their fajitas are awesome.
You should review el rancho on Vernor St, 5900 Vernor Hwy, Detroit, MI 48209. In my opinion it's one of the best
I ate at that spot many years ago. Thanks for the recommendation! I'll have to revisit!
Hello Detriot food review! I have made a fan intro for you! (Use it if you want)
Thank you! I'll check it out!
the tamales at Nuevo Leon are too little and thin. There are better places to get tamales.
I'm going to be doing some reviews from some different tamale spots around town! This was the first stop.
