- When it comes to flying lengthy non-stop services, Star Alliance member Singapore Airlines is perhaps one of the most experienced carriers. Over the past two decades, this airline has been operating the world’s longest service on and off for a cumulative period of approximately 13 years. Indeed, it has given up the title twice due to service suspensions and cancelations. With North America as one of its focus regions, we examine the longest flights operated by Singapore Airlines in July 2023.

In a twist on this theme, a few months ago, I flew SQ's shortest A350 route from KUL back to SIN over the Eid holiday. I spoke to the FA about the NYC routes since I'm a native NYer, and I was glad to hear that the crew has 3 days off on this route, and they stay at a hotel in the city, as opposed to one in NJ.
Yup they stay in mid-town, I actually ran into my flight attendant a few days after my flight back as I work in the area.
Personally, I think for these very long flights, the seating should be Premium Economy and Business Class *ONLY* . Reason: the need to reduce incidences of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). That's why I suggested the Qantas A350-1000's used on the _Project Sunrise_ fligthts should be the type of seating I suggested earlier.
But what is the incidence of DVT in flight though?
Can you believe it? Qantas went for 33 inches in their economy class, even a random airline like air India which has much shorter routes has 34 inches in their regular economy on their 777-200LR
why Singapore airline discontinue to fly Vancouver again ? Canadian market is too small ? not enough passenger ?
I guess SQ has not a good timing for arrival and departure in YVR. The route has a good load factor and yield as well as almost seats are fully booked. AC will replace SQ on SIN-YVR route next year.
I avoid these ULH routes. I prefer a stop over.

The A350 is the aircraft boeing wished they could replicate.
Not really, Airbus always tends to be a reactive company, the A350 is the answer to the 777 although it was made as a reaction to the 787. Boeing was always in the business of carrying more ppl and cargo to almost the same distance as the Airbus jets that carry less. The difference is the Airbus is lighter and has slightly more efficient engines so it burns less fuel. Yet sales of the 777-300ER alone are more than the entire Airbus 350 program both models.
Thats good and all but Airbus are safer and the A350 has been flying for years now, meanwhile, The 787 has been grounded more times that a disciplined child 🤷♀️

@jamiebrowne6913 When was the 777 program introduced? When was the A350 program introduced? Clearly, you do not know anything! Don't even mention the A330NEO and nightmareliner. That also was launched before the NEO.
77W has decades of head start. And guess what are replacing those aging 777s? It’s not 777x
@@Jabid21 it hasn't passed 20 years since the second generation came about and ppl aren't replacing 777's they are still being kept, the only things the Airbus are replacing are other airbuses. The 777x numbers will pickup as it's certified and proven once the 77W are aged out.

For Singapore Airlines there is a $1200 ticket available for SQ21 EWR-SIN provided the final destination is MNL. Since SQ918 leaves Singapore for Manila Philippines 2 hours after the arrival of SQ21 from EWR. Also Perth Western Australia on SQ225
Air Canada now operates YVR - SIN 4 times weekly which is exciting. AC mainline will be launching other long haul routes which is needed for Canada 🙌🏼
Last month Air Canada announced it will start a 4 time weekly year-round service from YVR to SIN on their 787's in April 24
How long can the ULR fly with a full load to capacity of people and cargo
The payload of the -900 and -900ULR is the same until 8500nm. In fact, the former could fly to New York with a 100% load factor and very little cargo, and was initially used on the route to JFK before the ULR took over.

Extra fuel tanks and increased MTOW helps the aircraft fly 18,000KM.

You forgot to mention SIN - MAN - IAH is SQ52 one of their longest routes as well. However, good report still.
Not nonstop though, which the 5 in the video are.

Statute I'd say. A Nautical mile is a minute, as in 60 minutes in a degree. So 60 Nautical miles is one degree of rotation along the earth's curvature. That's my understanding of what a Nautical mile is.

Both Seattle and SFO are 13583 km away from Singapore lol 😊
