This is my absolute favorite song in the entire Xenoblade series. The song itself is fantastic, and it accompanies my favorite fictional ending of all time. There’s just something truly special about it.
The fact this is the only song Mitsuda did for the original Xenoblade is absolutely criminal. Very thankful he came back and was much more involved with 2, and now 3. Xenoblade 1 has one of the best endings in gaming, and this song fits the tone perfectly. One of the best songs MItsuda's made.
No exaggeration, I think Xenoblade 1 has the best ending to any JRPG, it's legitimately perfect. It's ending on par with games like Persona 3, FF6 and Bravely Default/Second
Personally, I find it even more criminal how little involvement Mamami Kiyota had in the production of Blade 2's soundtrack even though she's essentially the main reason why Blade 1 has such a distinct and memorable sound. Blade 2's OST didn't really click with me as much for this reason.
Mitsuda was actually originally reluctant to have any involvement with Xenoblade, he wanted to leave it to the younger generation and give other composers a chance, but he then caved for 2 😂
One of my absolute favorites, with context this theme hits like a truck. One of Mitsuda's best in this series imo, which is praise I don't give lightly because he has innumerable bangers
This song is such a great finale to Xenoblade Chronicles. It’s the only composition Yasunori Mitsuda did for the original, but thankfully he had a much larger influence on Xenoblade 2’s music.
Yeah this is the credits theme of XC1. It’s also the only vocal song in 1, XC2 and it’s dlc, Torna, have 2 and 1 vocal track respectively. Highly recommend listening to them if you get the chance, in order they’re: “Drifting Soul” (XC2), “One Last You” (XC2), and “A Moment of Eternity” (XC2: Torna the Golden Country).
XC1 is a game that has a lot of really good payoffs. And, this does play over a final cut scene, rather than just being over credits. Without spoiling the content of it, the cut-scene starts out in first person, before switching to third person, during the middle of the first chorus, for a plot related reason.
Yeah, Xeno has the Celine Dion ending themes Most of them have that vibe, and I only say most cause I don't know much about Xenosaga, just Xenogears and Xenoblade, and those have that, it's kinda lika a mark of Yasunori Mitsuda for these games Beyond the Sky and One Last You (XC2) are gorgeous
The fact that Yasunori Mitsuda - the creator of the "Xeno-sound" - came back for that one song, makes the scene it plays in all the more impacting when you think about it. I highly recommend the track "Omega" from Xenosaga, which shows a totally different, more ambitious side of him as a composer.
Xenoblade music is such an emotional experience especially if you played the game and have that connection with the characters like pretty much everyone who gives this series a chance, does.
This song makes me cry every time I hear it, not sure if its just because I know the scene accompanying it or if its just that beautiful. Probably both
A Moment of Eternity is the ending theme from Xenoblade 2 Torna The Golden Country and that’s my fav ending theme from all Xeno Games so far. Looking forward to that someday in the future.
After a good 60 hours of adventure, bonding with the characters, searching for friends, discovering the nature of conflicts and mysteries tied to this world; when this song hits you, in the final cutscene, it's hard not to shed a tear.
Interesting story about why this might sound like My Heart Will Go On. When Titanic was coming out, Mitsuda pushed himself to finish the soundtrack for Xenogears before Titanic came out because he heard the soundtrack from Titanic would have Celtic influence, which he also used in Xenogears. Those similar Celtic influences are on display here, hence the similarities.
Everytime we get a new Xenoblade reaction and it's not You Will Know Our Names or Engage the Enemy I cry a little harder. Also Crossing Swords from Xenoblade 2 would be really cool as well, it's like if Xenoblade 1 and Xenoblade X had a baby, it's so good. Oh and Mechonis Field! It's really diferent from everything you have listened from Xenoblade so far
Just hope they aren't going the hipster way of spending millions to hire a famous artist for a song that doesn't really fit and is only done for marketing. Unless that someone happens to be Michael Jackson brought back from beyond the grave.
@@NuiYabuko Because hiring celebs for sales is a thing that happens in the gaming industry and Nintendo does this at times as well. Besides that, if they hire a modern mainstream celeb to promote a game it's going to be lacking in quality anyhow.
There are probably some video game endings which are better than Xenoblade's, subjectively speaking. However, few feel as cathartic. This song goes a long way toward accomplishing that feeling.
Actually, not really I've finished xc1 twice, & watch 20+ blind playthrough of any streamer on twitch & youtube, no one ever dare to compare it to anything... when they reach final ending, all of them kneels
Admittedly, I've played Xenoblade 1 after 2, so I had the big twist spoiled for me, but I found the ending pretty underwhelming compared to 2. It just happens too suddenly and is over before it even elaborates much, which in itself is really unique, but I felt like Xenoblade 2 taking its time and using all of chapter 10 for its "ending" sequence left much more of an impression on me. Again though, it could be mainly because of the wrong order I played the games in, so I knew what to expect.
@@Vokoca I'm not saying it's your fault because u have no choice but to play 2 first, but tbh if you look from perspective of 1 ending, 2 is just 2 side of the same coin which actually make xc2 on par as xc1... I'm sure monolith did it because they themself know how they can't beat xc1 ending without somehow make it all connected then all comparison would just then be nullified cuz its actually the same thing... I will ask you a question so mind boggling that simply won't exist in xc2... what is shulk before the ending ? & why is he able to claim the third monado? & what is even monado before the actual shulks world manifested The whole reason I bought switch day 1 is because they fucking announce the spiritual successor of xc1 so I had like no choice but to buy what people claim to be shit tablet... but turns out they couldn't be more wrong, NX absolutely slay the competition... idgaf about Zelda or plumber man tbh... they announce direct sequel to xc to me ? Sold... no question asked
@@dicipleone9250 Yeah, I really wish I was able to play 1 first, but I didn't have a Wii or a 3DS and the DE came out way after 2. Still, really looking forward to 3, only a couple more days!
I would love to see you play Xenoblade Chronicles 1/ Definitive Edition. The story is very good and it’s accompanied by compelling characters and music.
The ending song actually also really fits the theme of the game when you have the context. Personally I wouldn't really call this a top 10 song from the game, but it's still a good song. I generally don't feel much for this type of music unless it really stand out to me... something like To A Space Faraway from Half-Minute Hero: The Second Coming... I'm generally not even that fond of Japanese songs and this one gets me halfway to tears every single time. I'd even count it among the best songs ever made. Also helps that the moment the song plays in the game is perfect (not the credits). I highly doubt that song will ever appear on this channel and there's so many suggestions already on the list that it would take years before this song would even come up, but the folks who read this comment please do give it a listen. The game it's from is a niche of the niche. So unknown that not even most of the people who have played the first game even know that this amazing sequel exists (with an extremely impressive soundtrack).
All the Xeno series games have a vocal ending theme, and they're all fantastic. The ending of every Xeno game (except Xenoblade X) is an emotional trip that ends with a very strong sense of bittersweetness.
Wow you're really have very high insight build in your brain man, everything what you said here was 98% correct according to me... one of the most absurd thing ever is xenoblade music never even gets nominated, as candidate of best music in The Game Award or similar event, it's like all the jury are never exposed to a single ost in this game if u know what I mean... I think they will surely recognize it soon though as xenoblade is currently being a smash hit.. but imagine xenoblade 1 era where everyone hardly ever played it
I'm starting to take it personal that we STILL didnt reach "You will know our names!". Why are people so mean to you to not request the best Xenoblade title of all? :(
The fact he is yet to witness You Will Know Our Names is insane.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I also requested zanza the divine around 6 or 7 motnhs ago from xenoblade, hope he will react to it soon (:
Maybe he just doesnt want to know our names? 😥😥
And engage the enemy
@@pallao3500 I don't blame him. Anyone who ends up knowing our names is usually on the recieving end of an epic beating.
This is my absolute favorite song in the entire Xenoblade series. The song itself is fantastic, and it accompanies my favorite fictional ending of all time. There’s just something truly special about it.
It feels very inspired by My Heart Will Go On. Gets me misty-eyed every time I hear it.
Very much tied to My Heart will Go On
So much so that people have made mashups of the two:
