JK - "...we lost because we didn't take 6 points that were left out there..."
The boks left 7 points out there. Why can't he just admit that the boks won itstead of the ABs lost it?
I agree that their discipline let them down, but not nearly as badly as it could have. The ABs had been riding their luck with respect to side entries and offsides all game and were only really held to task with any consistency towards the end of the game. But here too the boks were also guilty of ill discipline at times. Furthermore at least on of the penalties that led to 3pts for the ABs near the end shouldnhave been a penalty to the Boks (when Steyn tackled and ripped the ball from McKenzie before going to ground).
So, it can be argued that both sides left points out there, both sides were let down by I'll discipline, and both sides got some bad calls (some cost more than others). But we can all agree that is was a great game and thus should conclude that the Boks won and not that the ABs lost

The issue Mils is that the Springboks operated a defensive POD of Etzbeth (front), De Jagar (middle) and vermuelen (back) which is positioned in the middle-back part of the lineout therefore they have the ability to cut off any ball to the middle and back forcing the ABs to only throw to the front where their lineout defenders in the middle or back can defend the rolling maul to the sideline or pour through to not only disrupt but control our distribution!

The reason why the passed the ball more often is because the All Blacks let them play what was in front of them. Most of the ball carrying came from momentum gained from their box kicks, lineout mauls and kick returns which the All Blacks gifted to them from mistakes or inadequate set piece, the Springboks played with ball in hand because they had better field position and momentum. The few clips showcased were all from 1st or 2nd phase as you would expect and a lot of the kicks did not occur because of the ABs inadequacy to field the kicks in play and instead being pressured to let it go in to touch.

Boks miss a try by 2cm on the line, NZ get a try from a probable knock on, boks miss 2 or 3 kicks at posts. SA dominated the middle of the park, If the scoreboard reflected the game, the boks won that by 15+. Thats the point these lads need to be making.

@@Camino2017 I am talking about the Waterboy incident, and yes it was not an action that was thought through properly, it is not the end of the world however and, given that they acknowledged their mistake, one could expect it not to happen again. But even more astounding than that is the arrogance displayed by Kirwan & Co feeling entitled to the extent where they feel they can dictate how South Africa should play their rugby. As long as the game is being played within the rules it is up to every team to determine its own style, regardless of whether Kirwan & Co approve thereof or not. South Africa is very capable of assessing whether their game plan works for them and the New Zealand commentator’s negativity is nothing but toxic. The true danger to the survival of rugby is the disgusting level of professionalism displayed by the referees. If they really feel rugby need to be protect why don’t they comment on that? They have, seemingly overnight, turned into northern hemisphere pundits and commentators. Bring back the true blue New Zealanders who did not sweat the little things!
