Thank you for the advise... In the off season almost all of the parking meters are covered so parking is free, but as soon as the busy season comes they are in full force.

I couldn't eat a lobster anymore after the ongoing Leon the lobster story. But Maine looks great compared to Mississippi. Shame I probably never have time or resources to visit USA. My top places would be Provincetown and Colorado. Maybe New York.

Bar Harbor itself is WAY too touristy and packed full of yuppies...though the people working there are really cool.
We were fortunate enough to visit in early May before the busy season and we loved it. We pretty much has Acadia NP to ourselves! - There were days when we would hike and not see another person. You are correct... the people and very cool!

There is a beautiful beach just a few miles away in Acadia National park. Not sure if the population.

@@wherenexttravel Thank you so much for your answer....Not particulary interested (even though it's a lovely coastal town).....The thing is, i'm planning to emigrate to Canada, in the not so distant future, and would like to live in some decent place located a short distance from the US - Canadian border. I've researched, in addition to Bar Harbor ME, the following places: Youngstown NY, Traverse City MI, Rochester MN, Blaine WA. (I live in Puerto Rico.)

Far harbor and Bar harbor look so different from one another that I was interested in seeing the similarities. I just honestly can't.
Tbf for the generic buildings Bethesda recycled a lot of the Commonwealth buildings because it just works.
We have heard about Far Harbor but have no idea what it is?

Shit would be happy to go to bar harbor some time, played the game fallout 4 for a few years ago and it took place in bar harbor (renamed far harbor), would be happy to travel in the future to bar harbor, seems wonderful

i went here 3 years ago in august and it was so fun! arcadia park tour was amazing and the town was so cute and relaxing.

Ok going to be there on a cruise for the day in October. I don't want to book a cruise excursion so please anyone familiar advise. We're an older couple.

Been there both in 2020 (despite it being a pandemic - but it was kind of nice with no crowds and things still being open) and 2021, and hopefully will go many more times!
Bar Harbor is so much fun the 'off' season... less crowds and the trails at Acadia NP are empty! We were there in April/May time frame and loved it!

ya know, ive lived in new england my whole life, connecticut born and raised, been to misquamicut beach many times, i MEP'ed out of chicopee mass, ive been to vermont to help drop off my best friends sister off to college, and ive been ro new hampshire and saw the ice castle, but for some reason have never been to maine, i really do want to see it, and this looks like the place to tour!

Great video..you covered some of our favorite spots in the park and in town..although we somehow missed that toy store..what a collection of puzzles! great to do at night after a day hiking.

Federal law permits filming in public establishments, which these are.
It is legal to photograph or videotape anything and anyone on any public property, within reasonable community standards. Photographing or videotaping a tourist attraction, whether publicly or privately owned, is generally considered legal, unless explicitly prohibited by the owner…which she got permission from, so carry on..she is not bothering anyone.
