Excellent video! I really appreciate your very thorough explanation of every step and the way of capturing them on camera. I just recently got an Audi Q7 and I can tell it needs new rotors and pads. Thanks for sharing!
Nice video. I would only add one thing: if the car car is equipped with adaptive air suspension - don't forget to engage the "jack"-mode before actually jacking up the car. Otherwise the suspension pump will work all the time to compensate the unexpected level difference. Additionally, level sensors might get out of calibration which will need the specific programming tool to re-calibrate (dealer's VAS or Ross-Tech's VCDS)
I have a 2013 Audi Q7 and have been told by the dealer and local repair shop that the rear brakes have to be done by the dealership as their diagnostic tool has to be involved. Any truth to that? I want to do my rear brakes when they need it and avoid the high cost of the dealer. Many thanks for your video!
Diagnostic tool is used to release the parking brake if you have the electromechanical type. If you have to push a switch to set your e-brake then you need to have the tool, if you push a pedal to set the ebrake you don't. Also, you can get a bluetooth OBD2 scanner and app for you cell phone and problem solved there. Anyone who tells you that you HAVE to go to the dealer is either employed by them or doesn't know much of what they are talking about.
Hi thank you for the video , I’m trying to replace the back caliper but one 16mm bolt is not accepting the socket I have tried to hammer it in but to no use how can I remove that bolt please help

So all the times that ive slid head first under the car on jack stands to work on exhaust or tranny or dif etc. What the hell was i supposed to do it? If he cant put his legs under the car then how is he supposed to work on anything under the car?
How do you think all the rest of the maintenance underneath the car takes place if someone isn't going under? Fairies floating around under and doing it? Lots of work requires a whole lot more than just your legs under the car.
OOOOH F*** me. those bolts would not come free. Audi guy must have been pissed and really torqued them down. Had to take them to a friend who had a lift. 6ft. breaker bar and 2 guys to break the bolts free.

Thanks I have that on mine I will remember to do it
Good work. 👍
Hey brother thanks for the vid very helpful. Question why not spray the locking pin with wd40 first up to help break down the rust?
Rear disk brakes have shoes in them as well? Is that just an Audi thing or do more modern cars use them?
Why not to spray some WD40 on this guide pin ? Awesome job by the way !
Great video.. Thanks.. What brand air tools do you use? Look nice and compact..
Do you know how to tighten the handbrake on a Q7. Apparently there is somewhere to adjust on the rear brake rotors...?
I have trouble with weak handbrake after replacing those. What is the remedy?

He must not like those legs very much if he's choosing to place them underneath the vehicle.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Crazy.
