I've just watched all your videos you have released this month, ME THINKS that esxi 8.0 will be installed on my new Lenovo ST550 this weekend to try it out.
Hey Brandon. Great work as always, can you please cover VMware licensing? For enterprise. Lots of articles out there about frustrated customers with VMware licensing
Hi Kevin, thanks for the comment! VMware HA is actually also a part of vSAN. HA will restart VMs regardless if your storage stack is vSAN or the classic 3-2-1 shared storage with a SAN.
If only there was the ability to still create multiple datastores! I can’t wait until that feature is added. Having a single Datastore per cluster is a pain in the ass when it comes to permissions and RBAC.
Very cool. I install all flash PowerStore. This will simplify it greatly.
Great to hear!
VSAN was already the best storage solution, this just makes it better
@@sirsean1227 oh? What is?

Thanks Jason! Awesome, and looking forward to hearing more about your lab environment. Keep us posted on how it goes.
@@VirtualizationHowto Thinking about doing a quick video on this soon !! Then Maybe on the Supermicro Dual Node.

Nice!
Thank you Brandon!
vSphere High availability vs vSAN?
@@kevinkirk529 I think those are pretty different things. HA its about memory and cpu reservation while Vsan it is about storage architecture.

which network does ESA communicate out of?
ESA uses your networking in vSphere designated for vSAN.
Content is for insiders only. vSAN use case, capabilities, even a basic definition or differentiators are overlooked.
if you are watching this, you should already know a lot about vsan.
@@franciscodelgado1311 then my claim is it shouldn't be headlined a "killer new storage"
Will version 8 have a free license like the previous ones?
I tried to download it and couldn't find it.
Artur, I assume VMware will update their free ESXi offering to ESXi 8. It may take some time though for them to post.
@@VirtualizationHowto thanks!
do i have to use esxi 8 to use vsan 8? or can i have vcenter 8 with esxi 7 with vsan 8?
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
