Social work placements are definitely crucial for practising.
For my placements I had both voluntary sectors & I ended up in frontline children’s services so in Assessment & Intervention & now the Multi agency safeguarding hub as a senior.
My advice isn’t to get so hung up about whether your placement is statutory or not. Remember social work is all about transferable skills & being adaptive 🙌🏽
