    It's a shame that some folks can't get past how you pronounce things or the lab coat or that a three-year-old video is outdated. This material is a good introduction to the plethora of Arduino boards. Start here and then go to some similar videos to learn the changes in a market where things change every 3 months or so.

    Take a look at the teensies. They're faster more memory and just as compatible. I got tired of running out of Ram with my Nanos and moved to a Teensy 3.2 years ago and never looked back. They also have great display Library support our blazing-fast for something like an ili9488 and an ili9341

    Short of using and ESP8266 and a relay board, how can one build a simple arduino-based switch on/off that would work via wifi is the ESP8266 the only option at this time? I am amazed there's still isn't an affordable to way to have a controller that could be added to standard home light switches and wall plugs so that they could be accessed via home wifi LAN aggregating them so that could be all controlled within a single UI.

    Fantastic.... !!! It would be very useful (for me) a new board with Arduino nano layout (same pin, same i/o number, same measures) but using ATMEGA2560 chip, I know that we 'lost' all 54 inputs for example and we will have only 13 available, but it is a great thing to update existing boards with nano layout but with no more memory to develop new features (with no new pcb rebuild)

    Looking for a little advice and direction. I want to create a device that will emit a loud high pitch tone once a certain speed is reached. This would be used on a small ATV for a child. I assume that the speedometer that comes on the ATV is digital. I also assume that I could tap into the output and measure its voltage output at certain speeds. I could then splice into that output which would be an input into some type of simple microprocessor. If a certain voltage is reached, then a loud high tone would continuously be produced until the speed decreases under the threshold. The device would have its own power source and would not rely on power from the ATV
    If my assumptions are correct, could someone provide some recommendation on what to purchase to achieve this. I have no experience with microprocessors but I am a software architect and have plenty of experience programming under Linux/Unix/Windows. What would be the recommendation for something quick, cheap and effective for these requirements? I guess it would be possible to achieve this without a microprocessor. If so, any advice would be appreciated. I took a single electronics course in high school but it would seem that it might be possible to achieve my goals with out microprocessor involved. Thanks.

      Uno is functionally identical to Nano, except that Uno has USB-B and a DC barrel jack, while Nano has Mini-USB and no barrel jack. The form factor is different. Uno is bigger and has female headers, while Nano is smaller and has male headers.

    Hi! I have a problem with my arduino uno copy. The error code: avrdude: verification error, first mismatch at byte 0x0000
    0x62 != 0x0c
    avrdude: verification error; content mismatch
    avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
    avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x01. What's the problem? Do i need to replace the microcontroller?

      Yes. Microcontroller problem. You'll likely need to buy a more expensive version and try it on there. The error you recieved likely means you have burnt out your voltage regulator, which would also destroy your communication chip. Your Uno is now garbage.

    Wish they did more 32 bit stuff. Coding my loc1768 bare metal is freaking hell and so freaking complicated. There’s at least mbed

    In a project can i replace nano in the place of uno with same codes

      Yes, you'll have to swap the wiring around but they are compatible, the Nano actually has more analog pins. I use Nano boards for almost all my low processor projects and they work great. Off brands like Elegoo allow you to buy them in bulk so you can buy 5 for around $20, that's only $4 a board!
