    Not surprised they get lots of returns.
    Their packaging is horrendous for such expensive items.

    Very cool! 👍 Maybe like you say being factory returns rather than faulty or 'untested' was a good thing. Good to know it's a company with integrity. It'll be worth keeping an eye out for more. The sound is pure nostalgia 🕹️

    The button to the far right of the Galaga coin door is definitely an off switch. My Ms. Pac-Man QA does the exact same thing. The funny thing however is I have both the Dig Dug and Bubble Bobble QAs and they have that button, but they don't function as off switches.
    And if I remember correctly, Galaga's dip switches are controlled by pressing both start buttons at the splash screen (before the boot up.) At least that's how it works on the other QAs. On Ms.Pac-Man though during the boot screen if you hold both start buttons and press both coin buttons, it will go to an input test mode.

    • @GoodwinsPlace
      @GoodwinsPlace  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's good to know it's not just me with that button.
      I can get to Galaga dip switches but nothing on PacMan and I'm not even sure it has them - doesn't matter though as it works great as it is.
      Cheers for the comment, sounds like you have a good collection. You looking at any of the future releases too?

  • @TheArcadeArchive

    I’ve got the exact same two and they make great display pieces.
    They are well made but I think I’ll only get one more when it’s released and that’s space invaders.
    Well done on getting them so cheap.

    • @GoodwinsPlace
      @GoodwinsPlace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are nice, I knew you had some but couldn't remember which ones you had. I think I'd push for one or two more but at the right price, don't think I can pay £150+ on them now that I've managed to get them so cheap.
      Yeah send it over whenever, happy to take a look as it will be interesting to see if we can get some sort of output on a system here.

  • @mcrecordings

    I've had four of these returns in total:
    - Pacman 40th had no sound, easy fix as I just had to solder a cable back on the speaker (cabinet looked new)
    - Dig Dug was definitely used but works fine, had some cracking on the control panel decal
    - Ms. Pac-man looked new but had a bad PCB (white screen no sound/video)
    - Galaga was brand new/sealed and worked fine (I couldn't believe it...)
    So they do seem to be genuine returns ranging from new unwanted items, to faulty new, to used returns for whatever reason. They were selling slowly when they were £50 last year and then all sold out when they dropped to £30. They had another half dozen up for sale recently but they sold really quickly (I got Galaga then for £30 but the others were £50). So I'd say jump on them quick if you see/want one but it is a lottery.

    Hey, great video. With your technical knowledge, how do you get these to turn on immediately with Power? I have bought 10 of these, all the various games and running them off a single USB hub. ideally I wanted it connected to a smart plug and when activated they all power on so hoping you could do a separate video for loads of people who would also like to know how to do it, or better still if you made a Plug and Play Bypass using JST Connecters etc so we can simply unplug and plug your harness in I know 1000s of Quarter arcade owners that would want that functionality.

    • @GoodwinsPlace
      @GoodwinsPlace  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Interesting. I'll take a look if they work when powered when the switch is shorted. Alternative is one cable that connects all power switches to a single switch that you could press to turn them all on.

    I know this is 2 years old, but I have bought Teenage mutant Ninja Turtles and the battery is not charging up, I had this before with space ace and returned it, but looking at this video the battery looks very simple to change, is this worth doing myself? or should I just send it back, seems like a proper waste, judging by the box when I got it, the game had been sitting around for quite some time, so looks like the battery has lost the ability to hold a charge or recharge fully.
    I have some experience with retro console and cartridge refurbishment/cleaning so I am not going in blind so to speak.
    TIA for any answer.

    • @GoodwinsPlace
      @GoodwinsPlace  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you have a multimeter it would be good to disconnect the battery and read the voltage.
      Honestly it could be something else like the charge controller so not sure if just swapping the battery will resolve it.
