- Most of a festive afternoon from Thames/LWT in 1991, a tape left running long enough to catch both films that day, bits of both showings of Home and Away and a handover to LWT.
In the news no-one is going to the sales, and Thames News has some interesting footage of shops in an item about Sunday trading (remember when B&Q looked like that!)

An almost empty Thames newsroom as most of the staff head off for the weekend while others are already off for the holidays! (And look at that line of Christmas Cards above the reader's head!)

I remember a few of these adverts but not much of the rest of it. I mustn't have been watching on this Friday for once lol. I might have been but we moved house on Monday 30th December 1991 so this has probably gone from my memory due to that lol. I was only six then

Great video. It strante to see the Home and away and News at 5.40 stayed the same :P Thames was really pushing Mr bean :D

Omg, I think I had wild fantasies as a result of the Sony advert as a kid.
Interesting to note then of course that Thames showed their trailers as being on them; whereas LWT showed theirs as being on ITV then. That I guess was because alas of Thames having lost their franchise to Carlton by then I wonder? The loss of Thames really was a travesty to the ITV network then and in a way is now too surely?! Thank you though anyway too.

That date was my sister's 10th birthday.
That's the first example I've ever seen of the end credits to H&A being faded out early on an ITV showing. Does anyone know was it common for LWT to do that?
Granada (north west England itv) used to cut H&A credits completely, straight to the final 6 notes and "ooh -oooooooh" 's ! 😂...presumably to satisfy the legal copyright ?!

C.J. O'Dell yes LWT used the Generic Ident until August 1992.
@@TCDL11 Then LWT switched to a new look on 4 September 1992.
Being the main network control for the weekend ITV, LWT had to really keep the generic look longer than most other regions.

classic times, sad to see every advert now has to be a diversity spread with every ethnicity and sexuality represented , i find the feel and vibe of this video and the earlier 80s videos, much more wholesome and genuine
