Jake. First my compliments as always on your terrific videos. I live and fish vicariously through your eyes when I can’t be in south FL in person. I fish Estero myself from time to time when I visit FL and in fact was wade fishing inshore on Bonita Beach at the same time you were fishing here. I had never seen the tide so low and was fishing 100 yards farther or so off some of the points than at normal levels. The fishing was great but it felt almost surreal.
@@jakewkayakfishing8457 It was almost spooky I was wading so far out on those points. I kept a close eye behind me to insure the tide didn’t change and rise too quickly as I would have been cut off from the main shore and possibly washed away. At least that’s what went through my brain. Totally weird being way out there.
Nice fish. Thanks Jake. I bought my first Kayak this year and I"m just getting started. Have not caught a RedFish yet. I know one is on its way. First Trout and first Pompano were this month. Enjoy your no nonsense vids.
I think I caught every other inshore species before I got my first redfish. Once you figure them out though they are easy to target. Fishing your artificial lure slow enough to keep it down is one of the keys. Figuring out where they are on different tides is the main trick though. It varies depending on the area and takes time to figure out.
What were those water spout? Oysters? Other than Estero Bay, what is good for kayak fishing? We will be moving to that area next year. Would want to also fish around Dellnor Wiggins & Naples.. any good spot there or Estero Bay is better..?
South of Naples the Shell Island Rd Launch into Rookery Bay is good and Isle of Capri Paddle Park is nice. Around Wiggins you can launch from the State Park or from Barefoot Beach Park. All can be good fishing in the right conditons.
Thanks Fernando. I really like it so far. I am confident enough in it based on other TH-cam reviews that I have added an amazon link to it in my video descriptions. (Kayak Hacks Fishing channel has been testing the reel for two years fishing from a kayak in saltwater with no issues)
Start with something small like a 4ft radius(8 foot diameter). They are way easier to learn to throw than the big ones and they are cheap enough that you won't feel too bad if you ruin it on the rocks or oysters. I keep a 4 footer in the center hatch under my seat and it is easy to throw from my Predator. I actually caught the pilchards and mojarras throwing from my yak 50 yards from where I caught the redfish. I will try to show it in a future video. At many of my launch locations I get bait right at the launch area.

Thanks Alan. Yeah, that negative low tide was surreal, and it was fun to try and figure out where the fish would go.

Oh, and the squirting water is from some kind of clam.
Thanks for the video. Was this today?
Thanks Tyler. My videos are typically filmed about a week before I post them so I can review all the footage and edit.
Good stuff as always bro! How are you liking your cadence reel? I was thinking about picking up a 3000 myself.

What size is the mesh ?
3/8 works for the size of bait you are looking for nearshore/inshore.
Some reel quality fish....When the water gets that low the deep holes can hold a lot of fish....It's like shootin' fish in a barrel!!
