When I was 14 on xbox I told an adult I was friends with about the sexual things another one of our friends was saying to me, and I didn't know this at the time, but he called the police on him since he was 20. Then fucking Interpol contacted my school to talk to me since he was from the UK and I'm in the US. But I was wayy too scared to testify or anything, so I never did it. Now I really wish that I did.

Not disgusted at her, mind you, at the culture where that's such a normal thing. I was also a part of that culture when I was her age so I can relate to a lot of the things she says and man,,, the internet is such a bad place for creative kids sometimes.

Why doesn’t Roblox just partner with different game development companies and allow them to slap their names on a shitty sonic/fortnite/csgo remake? It would allow Roblox to avoid their inevitable legal issues while still earning plenty of money as the facilitator of the game. Seems like a win-win; Roblox avoids getting sued, and game developers get cheap advertisement along with some easy money from their cut of in-game profits.
Profit margins. Game companies would demand a way larger (more reasonable and fair) cut of the revenue each game their brand makes. Roblox makes a ton now even with their cuts, and to further subtract that would make them lose a lot more money, not to mention other issues as well.
You've never spent a day in the industry, have you? You don't seem to have any idea of how game development works in any way. You're changing the profit eco system to be something completely different. Something completely unfeasible. Roblox will never do it because it means they'll make a hundreth of the money.

Full time Roblox developer here. There is a LOT to critique about Roblox, but both of the videos by the original channel totally miss the mark, have multiple contradictions, and generally feel like teenage drama that doesn't address the platform's real issues in any capacity.
It is clearly written by someone who doesn't understand the platform, as someone who did, would have a much much better critique of it lol

@@sirjakesnake4647 I started to elaborate and ended up writing a whole ass book. I've been on the platform for 11 years so it's very hard to summarise.
Basically, Roblox is just TH-cam, but games. Most of his arguments are either not specific to roblox.. at all. Or, they're misrepresented, flat out wrong, or missing very necessary context in order to have a productive conversation about it.
Roblox has a lot to critique, for instance, I think they could do a better job at having "honest monetisation" guidelines, since some games are simply horrendous about it.
But, if you compare Roblox to literally any app store, you realise they actually have more strict guidelines than anyone else.
This is generally how it goes.
Roblox's moderation isn't perfect- but... who is doing a better job? How can they improve?
Roblox's devex cut is not very high... but, who is offering higher? Do you think Roblox devs have not considered switching? Maybe they stay for a reason.
I might end up having to make that video, because I could write probably hundreds of paragraphs giving my (admittedly biased) recontextualisation of all of his arguments.
Just to be clear, anything he said to suggest roblox's creators are mostly children.. is wrong. Just so everyone's on the same page lol
Roblox is TH-cam is Roblox is TH-cam.
You get the occasional young success story, but at the end of the day, it takes a fairly matured mind to be creative and skilled enough to make a product. Young kids look up to the creators, and aspire to be it, and fail, and frankly I think that that is fantastic, on both TH-cam and Roblox.
None of that, absolutely none of that, means that Roblox is "underpaying children". Underpaying adults, maybe? Every developer on the platform has this discussion constantly, but it's not kids.
Adults create, kids consume. This is the internet, welcome to it.
The roblox community has been talking about this for years, im thankful that this is reaching outside the roblox sphere.

Yep, I was way too involved in the black market and erp shit when I was a kid looking back on it some of the stuff I thought was "normal" was so fucked up. I wasted so much money getting scammed by people online and dude the websites on which that kinda stuff happened had threads for nsfw stuff and people selling drugs all the time.

It's extremely important because it's yet another weapon in the arsenal against the many crimes of Roblox.
Unfortunately, big companies losing money is going to enact change a lot faster than children getting sexually abused.
Bringing up pedophelia relies on the government to take action, bringing up copyright infringement relies on other companies to take action. The difference being, other companies can act much more swiftly and decisively than the government in the short term. Of course, agencies can get involved and shut this down fast but legislation will be super slow as always.
