Very clean... Def have to do this! Thanks for the vid dude!
Thanks for the video, had this idea in my head buts its good to see someone actually doing it first.
Perfect installation! 😍🤞 I’m watching hella ways to install mines . So far this my 🏆#1 video .. imm going to use rivets if its thick enought to hold my cheap ebay lip kit 😂😂 then bolt &&- nut to hold it in place ! The sucks part is taking off my entire bumper 😫😫😭 (2008 chevy malibu) but i see how this is perfectly done so I’m definitely going to take my time ☺️☺️
Thanks for this, just installed rivnuts for my lip
Just had this idea today and figured someone would’ve already done it, thanks for the tips!
Exactly the best video to find haha!! I'm glad it helped man, did it turn out good? (Was it also on a WRX?)
@@SpencerHogg no doing it until the summer time , will be doing it on a 2013 gs350, needs a little bit of aero ahahaha
Love ur videos!
Hey thanks dude I appreciate that! Check out some of my newest if you'd like to see what's up recently!! :)
Thanks for the video! Pretty sure I'm going to go the rivet method as well, but the more permanent one since I live in CA and weather is almost the same year round. Side note: please invest in a gimble, I got a headache from the videos movement lol
Bro this is the method I need to used. Just got myself a used WRX and it has a lip installed on it. It was done kinda ghetto and I'm remove it for the winter so Ima use this method when I reinstall it for sure.
Sick!
Can you give specs on the size of new drill, bolts, washer, and rivets that worked out best for you?
Hey, man. Thank you for putting this video up. I had the same idea, but thought it was going to be too risky. Do you mind sharing the screws you used? I’m pretty sure I’m overthinking it, but I’m going crazy trying to find rivet nut screws lol. Thank you for your time.
Going to do this but w/o removing my bumper. Too many hex 10’s.
You reckon it’ll be a little bit more inaccurate? I plan to insert them into previously self-tapped holes.
how did this install work out in practice. Were the rivnuts strong enough to hold the splitter in place at high speed?
What are the measurements you used? If you dont mind sharing
Did that for my frs
I hope someone can answer this.
I am doing the same thing to my F30 335 today. How is this method holding up? I drive pretty fast sometimes and dont want the lip to come off and destroy something else on the car ...
Hello, how has this installation gone after almost 3 years? Is it worth it? Thank you
Since the 1.5 inch screws were too long for you so you remember what size screw’s you used when you back to get ones that fit?
Great video thanks
What size rivnuts did you use?
Have you tried using rubber well nuts? Thats how the OEM lip installs. That way you dont have to worry about a rivet spinning, getting stuck, or rusting out?
Richmond Trinh not a bad idea either, I don’t know if rubber ones actually secure in place the same ? They can pop out too right? I have those for my canards on my bumper.
What link on that lip?
So icon or maxton? Tough call. Some of the holes look close enough on the sides that speed (sping clip) nuts can be used. Project gives me hope future body kit add-ons won't be as difficult as they look.
will it destroy the bumper when the front lip hits something hard? i.e (take the front lip +bumper)
Jesse sanchez no worse than if you self tapped it in! But with this you can remove it easily and quickly !!
is this bumper made out of plastic or metal? trying to install something similar on a car but its plastic and I don't want to crack the plastic
garand thumb music got me goin
@3:08 ☝🏽☝🏽☝🏽 rookie move! 🤣 Gotta write down all those measurements m8
why not just cut the screws
whats the size of riv nuts? and bolts?
The kit comes with a whole bunch of sizes so you can pick whichever fits best for you
Seems like a pain to keep taking the front lip off and on every snow storm.
Yup, haha! Just your typical Canadian winter problems, though. This make it much easier to install and remove though. Wish I did this with mine.
@@SpencerHogg well knowing me if I had to live in Canada I'm just gonna raise my car. Too lazy to take my front lip off lol
Not a good idea
Its actually grreat idea. Similar as to factory install. They are using rubber rivets with metal inserts.
Swag
Finally!! Been waiting for this for a while. This is definitely the way I’m going to do mine. So sold on the ease of being able to remove this in the winter time.
Tyler Shumaker Yup! Canadian winter problems. I have to take off my full lip AND splitter each season so twice a year hahaha
