I have seen this video many times but today a new thought occurred to me. There is Taehyung, the creator, and V, the creation. That’s the duality of his life. He has a personal life and a public persona.
That’s definitely the reality for a lot of us who are artists - even moreso for someone at his level of success and fame. I think that’s why this connected with me so much!
They were all sculptures. Red jacketed V realized that none of it was real, the girl had the x on her neck and when he felt the x on his neck the realization hit him and he showed acceptance and sadness, I cried; the ones in white were in decaying form after a brief lit up view; also sculptures and also the V in black, the black lines running down his face like blood from when the bust fell and the face of it cracked, your review was right on. The voices blended so well together Park Hyo Shins sounded so nostalgic also, V’s voice makes me melt, his acting is everything, to actually make yourself seem as two different individuals is truly great. So many layers to V’s art. Thank you for the great review,was very enjoyable, it was like a sad ghost story, it’s all about loneliness 😢
Tae could be referencing the ‘Winter Ahead’ as his time away from his ARMY, while serving in the military and the ‘Spring Day’ as his return to them, and of course his freedom to live an ordinary life without all the ‘camera flashes’, the good with the bad, his isolation while being surrounded by people who he doesn’t know, the light and the dark, the time that he was broken and injured by the career he loves. V dancing merrily with abandon (red jacket) entertaining the masses, while Tae (in black) is tortured by a lifestyle he possibly finds suffocating and confining, slurs and insults being thrown at him until he bleeds, (the black blood). He wrote and designed this, has lived this and will possibly have to live it again. His imagination and artistry is so powerful, deep and beautiful, beyond the norm, never boring, a carbon copy or bland.💜😎💪🫡🐯🐻

You did such a good job in your analysis! And I'm so glad you noticed the red butterfly coz most people skim over that. I've noticed a pattern in his MVs where he makes a clear distinction between the created idol V and the creative human Taehyung. You'll see this here, in Rainy Days and in Slow Dancing. Even in Fri(end)s, there are 2 versions of him. In one interview, he said that he created the character V who lives on stage but V does not eat. He said off stage, he lives as Kim Taehyung. And of course, this is such a gorgeous song.
Yes! And that’s a vital thing to do IMO as an artist - it’s cool to see him acknowledge that here (although that does reveal a bit of a third “V/Taehyung” - the one that’s playing Taehyung in the videos). Self-examination is critical in art and it’s cool to see him explore that

I was really excited for you to react to this one. I knew you'd have a field day with it. There is so much going on both visually and sonically and they way they bump against each other. It's like 2 separate characters, which I would guess was another example of the duality of the story being told. I find, in general, that BTS songs (both as a group, and specifically as individuals) are usually about so much more than it appears on the surface.

This song is so good. I mentioned in the live chat that their voices match so well together. Gave me the same feeling I get when I listen to Frank Sinatra with either Dean Martin or Bing Crosby. The different styles/tones, but still meld so well together. Mostly with Sinatra & Crosby. With "Well, Did You Evah!" from High Society, or their version of 'White Christmas'. You also mentioned 'Pygmalion' & I've seen so many people saying the same thing.

Hi! You came on to my feed! Reaction to my bias' song - hell ya! Glad to kbow you are a fellow Nyker! Love your take! We know is very deliberate in his storytelling - he has a Behind The Scenes video and yu can see him working with the director - pretty cool. My take is pretty similar. I viewed it as him and his persona that he is creating. The girl is "Army" which is a part of him as well, the one he sings with, dances with and has fun with. The other characters are those who have impacted his life, the grandma - who he grew up with. And in the end, he realizes or faces his reality - "dark V" who with the black stains or scars that takes all the pain for him,, and he accepts that too is part o him, and we then see him still shining in the dark. Looking forward to watching your BTS Playlists and other of your videos! I may watch you on stage as well!
This is probably the weirdest theory I've ever read. I haven't seen anyone associate the people in the video with army or his grandmother. I think fans need to stop labeling every woman they see in these guys' videos as representing their fans. Come on, they're 30 something year old men. Wake up a little.

Incredible 😂 we didn’t have cable growing up and Red Green aired on PBS, so we watched a TON of it. Always loved that show - between Red Green, I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith, Beverly Hillbillies, Carol Burnett, Red Skelton, and Gomer Pyle USMC, I had a pretty solid slate of comedic influences 😂 and thank you! Interesting the transformation.... Yes V is coming out from BTS. Away from the narrative that trapped him for so long. He is emerging artistically from the forced shadow.
The cardigan he is wearing has also been worn by Jungkook. There is a part in the video towards the end where he is wearing it and he freezes like a statue. Funny thing about that is Jungkook has moments where he freezes like that out of the blue. It’s like he is deliberately posing like Jk. I wonder what that means? The cardigan he is wearing has also been worn by Jungkook. There is a part in the video towards the end where he is wearing it and he freezes like a statue. Funny thing about that is Jungkook has moments where he freezes like that out of the blue. It’s like he is deliberately posing like Jk. I wonder what that means? You can see him freeze like that on the last RUN BTS pt 1.
