This is a later evolution of the dance and music. Don't get too tied down to names and styles - folks of that generation didn't have the benefit of the internet to codify the names. There was (and still is) no syllabus of agreed swing dance terms. It very much depended upon where you were from. It all evolves from the jazz music and dance in Harlem from the late 20's. This is a performance piece, and not social dancing, so it includes choreographed segments.
You can see/hear how Bebop did not work at all with Lindy Hop. Lindy Hop is meant to be danced to hard hitting swing music and it is terribly out of place against the back drop of this sort of Jazz. Two great disperate streams that never quite came together.
This is Lindy Hop but it's not danced to swing music. It is danced to be-bop or what is known as cool jazz. I've danced Lindy Hop for 5 years and I've also danced jive. There is a distinctive difference.
this have nothing to do with lindy hop the music you hear is mostly call be-bop and this style of dancin is jive as known among the black population in the 40's(nothing to do with the jive danced by ballroom dancer)
Indeed it is Lindy Hop, the evolution. Music is different hence the dancing is different. The hey-days of swing was over and out - the new style of jazz was it, and it was called be-bop. Jive, Jitterbug, Congreroo and Lindy Hop = same same around this time. It all emerged FROM the original Lindy Hop style, Take a look at AFTER SEBEN, and you will see a completely different Lindy Hop (1929)

Wowee! I haven't seen this one yet. Who are the dancers? What movie is this from? You rock--thanks for posting.
Thanks for sharing. I've never seen this before.
so dope i really enjoy this
Just can't understand why slim lady's not being considered as classy and beautiful anymore today.
Teens ..Not..... In their 20's more like it......I love this style of dancing !
Ok!!!
Kids grew up a lot quicker back then
I feel like the music is dubbed over the original music. They kinda look more like the African American dancers in the Hollywood Canteen dancing clip.
Where did we go wrong? Most of today's music and all of today's dancing is garbage.
Sooo true!
C Howard No it's not, smdh.
The music sounds likes it more from the early 50s. Definitely post war.
yep that's bebop daddy oh!!
dizzy atmosphere?
I like the move at 2:10!

Does anyone know the name of this song?

Be.bop
Sounds like wkgaston73 a little uptight and not ready for the dance floor?
