Great to see Alex rejoin you for this final stint. At least the fast water can wash away some of the mud. The music passifies and belies the experience. I can only imagine what is going through your mind, despite the mud, terrain, challenge. The impressive spirit of this time, and all of it. A full breastful hug 😊 How much mud has gone down the sink over the time. Now the salt of the sea is so much in your nostrils, and to blow out your mountain, and bush cobwebs. Exuberance be yours! Remember ... "It's a straight forward walk from here" (Te Whare Kereru) - forever now part of our garden, and your story of your TA. Another time - but ALWAYS relevant 🙂👌
We met her on day 1 and walked a few days with her on the North Island. For the South Island, we were usually 1-3 days behind her but didn’t see her until almost at the end. The group she had been walking with split up due to injuries and rest days, so we rejoined for the last week.

The mud creature exits the bush to only realise they humans once the scrape away the mud. Man that stash chilly bin would been magic with that Fanta.
It’s amazing how one can go from human to feral and back again in once day.
Man oh man thanks for the video of Longwood Kurt. I think I may give that section a miss !
Noooooo! It’s hard but it’s definitely type 2 fun…and borders on type 1 fun if you have some good company like I did.
Team Kurt 1, Longwood Forest Nil!! Well done...every step looked looked hard work. Enjoy your stroll to the finish in Bluff
That was a HARD section. Glad to have it behind me now.
All that mud reminds or of stewart island NWC
It definitely deserves its reputation!
Barb got an intro video, but has Alex had an intro video? Who is this mystery woman?

Have never seen that track so muddy.
