This beautiful song almost got me swept off my feet when I visited the village in 1997. I attended a relative's funeral when I got to listen to its tune for the first time.
Thanks For Another Great Benga Memory Lane, Keep them Coming...Benbellah Can you give us a more history of Jully & VB / Oula, have always felt a connection on some of Jolly Boys Songs, also Omore...
I have been looking for these songs bro. I can't thank you enough for your efforts to keep us entertained. You've just brought back those 1996/7 memories when I was a boy. I wish I could summon all my cousins so that we can listen to this together to remember those gone days! How can I get this song on my phone memory bro?
I would like to request benbellah to upload the song that princess july mourned her husband ...it starts like a gospel."niwara nono......"plz who has this song plz uploaded...I will pay all u want plz
Bro, I do it for the fans and not for payment. Sadly, I have not gotten the said song. I am in the process of looking for it. When I get and post it, I will tag you. Cheers.
Actually Ben, what happened was that Okumu Jully wanted to record a song with Collela Mazee, Ochieng Nelly and Agumba Sheik Pluto to celebrate 1995 (20th Anniversary of the end of the Victoria Kings Jazz 1975, which all the had been members). First Collela invited Jully in 1994 to the B Kings to take part in recording the song "Odhiambo Jawagire" which Agumba did for a friend and there, the 4 worked together. Then in 1995 Dec. , Collela allowed Jully to come and with the help of Collela's wife, ((Betty Kájos), they produced at Oula Productions the songs Molly and Anderikus Otieno with the collabo of Collela's team and Ochieng Nelly. The vocals were done by Tom Odhiambo Jagwasii and Agumba Sheik. Only Jully was from the Jully Boys on the 2 sets. The rest of the songs on the Dunia Mbaya Cassette were recorded at Prince JullyBoys Records early 1996.

Benbellah, was this song initially done at Victoria B? From the guitar and the mention of VB men.
