    I hope for more too.
This young Lady, born in Norway (a real Viking), is something very special. She is a singer, songwriter, composer and producer. She started composing music at the age of 6. When she was 9, she wrote her first song in English. Before that in Norwegian. She never wanted to be famous. She wrote only for herself and in secret. It wasn't until she was 15 that her mother found out what she was capable of and persuaded her to share her music with other people. It would be selfish not to do it. She had previously canceled a record company when one of the songs she performed at school was secretly recorded and posted online without her knowledge. This is how the record company became aware of her. She is what many role models should be. Absolutely down-to-earth, extremely emphatic (she already cries when she sees people crying), absolutely open-hearted, very funny, an extreme nature lover (she couldn't live without her forests. She has absolutely no inhibitions about saying what she thinks. But one thing very funny way (if she starts sweating under her arms at her concerts, she tells everyone that too 😁). She was once asked what her hobbies are. She said reading, cooking and masturbating 😁. Her interviews are always an experience. She is highly intelligent and has a memory like an elephant (she can recite the number pi up to 200 decimal places). She likes to talk to her fans between songs. Her trademark are almost uncontrollable movements of her body while she sings. Usually dances one to the music. In her case, the music dances with her. She feels everything she sings and sings nothing that she is not responsible for. She has remained human to this day. All her songs are special. She doesn't sing perfectly, but with enough feeling that it works perfectly. This lady is a real treasure among the stars.
Rasputin, like some other covers of Aurora, is not one of the normal songs. This song was chosen by the radio show for Aurora and she had 30 minutes to make something out of it. And since Aurora is a genius, that's not a problem for her either.

You have no idea what a treat you are in for! Between her voice, her lyrics, her expression of emotion and her personality she is is completely disarming.
She is as vulnerable as finely spun glass and as strong as high carbon steel. Her art rips you apart and heals you at the same time. Who does that? Her art is almost too intense to bear, but you can't look away. She is a siren in the form of a wood nymph. Resistance is futile!

You could do it in release order. This would show you the evolution of Aurora as an artist. On her first album she wasn't satisfied with the production. Because, although Aurora wrote the songs, she didn't really have control over the production. On the second album she had total control. She also threatened her manager that if she wasn't given full control and final say, she would quit being an artist. Aurora is a visionary and as she grew in confidence she decided that she simply wouldn't allow anyone to compromise that vision.

@@TheThamesmen "Runaway" is universally considered a good starting point. It is coincidentally the first track on her first album as well.
This is a list of tracks on the "All my demons greeting me as a friend" album:
      1. «Runaway» 4:08 Aurora Aksnes, Magnus Åserud Skylstad
      2. «Conqueror» 3:27 Aksnes, Skylstad, Geir Luedy, Odd Martin Skålnes

      6. «I Went Too Far» 3:27 Aksnes, Skylstad, Skålnes
      7. «Through the Eyes of a Child» 4:34 Aksnes, Leonard, Alf Helge Lund
      8. «Warrior» 3:43 Aksnes, Leonard
      9. «Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)» 3:20 Aksnes, Skålnes

      12. «Black Water Lilies» 4:42 Aksnes, Skålnes, Skylstad
The songs I like best on this album would be "Running with the wolves", "Winter bird" and "I went too far. My favourites out of all of Auroras songs comes on later releases. I generally prefer her more up-tempo and less introspective songs.

Thanks for a great reaction. Aurora has said herself that the best gateway into her world is Runaway. It was her fist single and one of the first songs she wrote, and mindbogglingly, she wrote the song in one hour when she was eleven years old. It feels like Runaway is eye of the Aurora song storm. She does not limit herself to one or two genres but every song she has makes sense when you know that Runaway is her beginning. Subscribed for awhile now and very happy I did now that you have found our Queen. We are known as Warriors and Weirdos and we carry that name with great pride. Aurora shines live but has great music videos. She is simply an amazing song writer. If there were empaths she would be the greatest one of all. She is able to absorb the things around her and put them into a song. Some of her early work is dark and sad but wrapped up in something not so sad. She has a couple of songs out that were never released but are a must watch and listen.
She is about inclusion and a mother of the earth. She has a wicked, not so innocent sense of humour. Her stage banter is funny and not filtered. Her interviews delightful. You will see her in a couple of early live TV performances looking "proper". She was being forced by the studio system to be something she was not. As mentioned by others she threatened to walk away and now has full control.
There is a large number of great quality live performances out there and since much of them is from public broadcast I have yet to see copyright strikes on reactors.
She is a metal head. Metal heads love her and she has made them cry. I have seen 50, year old male reactors breakdown during one of her performances especially with Murder 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 at the Noble Peace Prize Concert, or the unreleased song Why Did You Have To Go. She also mixes up the arrangements from performance to performance. You can listen to something like the video of The Seed and several live performances of the song and they would all be different.
For now I will leave the song suggestions to others since they are always right but the song that has the biggest impact for me is Lucky - Live in Nidarosdomen. I know at some point you will be doing the concert. By the way the concert has songs about the 2011 Norway attack where 77 people were killed including one of friends, rape, mercy killing, innocence, loneliness, survival, triumph, celebration and is a Christmas concert. Only Aurora can do this.

Age 16: Performed a self written song (I Had A Dream) at a school assembly
Age 16: Gave up dancing (and her dream of becoming a professional dancer) to focus on singing

Age 22 (just before her 23rd birthday): Released her second full album (A Different Kind Of Human (step 2))
Age 24: Her song Runaway (released in 2015) has gone viral on TikTok, hence turning Runaway into a world wide hit with over 1 million streams daily on Spotify and TH-cam

The 2020 Somewhere Else Festival: RUNNING WITH THE WOLVES; the 2019 HAIK Concert performed in a forest: INFECTIONS OF A DIFFERENT KIND, DAY DREAMER; the 2020 Bergen Philharmonic Concert: SOULLESS CREATURES, to name a few!

Aurora is for me a great artist. And yes she is unique in many ways. She is very expressive and very "in" music, she has unique voice and very emotional too. Her lyrics always have meaningful message. For sure hard to go wrong with her original music or covers. This one is newest cover and she said in YT comment that they made it (or trained) in around 15 minutes :).
For future I would recommend as starters f.e.:
    - Lucky live from Nidarosdomen
    - All is Soft Inside live from KEXP 2018
    - Murder Song live from Nobel Prize Concert
but you will get many other propositions as even hard to choose which one is better from other :).
From covers I would start with f.e. Teardrop (Like a version),

Fun reaction guys! Please do more Aurora.
She is the total package - singer, songwriter, musician, dancer, producer/arranger, choreographer, and an absolutely lovely human being (and she’s just 25 years old!). She will often perform her songs quite differently - sometimes with her band, other times stripped down to just her and one instrument, a cappella, with full orchestra, etc. - so it is definitely worth listening to different versions of the same song. Also, her videos are mini-masterpieces as well.
A short list of original songs:
Runaway - Nobel Peace Prize concert and her music video
Through the Eyes of a Child - Nidarosdomen concert, my recommendation Live Stripped - VIVO UK Lift: th-cam.com/video/CFzExUN1N8I/w-d-xo.html
It Happened Quiet - Nidarosdomen concert, but I'd recommend the live at The Current version as well: th-cam.com/video/9U-N6LqzdIM/w-d-xo.html
    Churchyard - Live on KEXP
Winter Bird - Nidarosdomen concert and her music video
Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1 - Nobel Peace Prize Concert
    Lucky - Nidarosdomen concert
Little Boy in the Grass - Nidarosdomen concert
The Seed - Music Video, HAIK Concert
The River - Music video, Live in Bergen 2020
Exist For Love - Music video,
    Daydreamer - Music video
She also does some awesome covers:
Life on Mars - David Bowie
    Believer - Imagine Dragons
God is a Woman - Ariana Grande
Across the Universe - John Lennon
    Teardrop - Massive Attack

Even more fun, this is a P3 cover. It isn't that Aurora decided to do a cover of Rasputin. P3 decided it for her. When musicians come on that show, and she is invited often, they do 2 of their own songs and, in addition, are given a cover to perform with an hour to put it together. Others have said that, in an interview, Aurora said it only took them 15 minutes to nail this one. I can't verify that, but either way....!
