- Dear families
A very happy, albeit windy, Friday to you!
The highlight of my week this week was our recognition evening. Performances from our talented musicians, celebrating success in Duke of Edinburgh and highlighting students who have gone above and beyond around the academy. I am particularly looking forward to taking the Principals award winners for MacDonalds breakfast this week!
In addition to the recognition evening we have also had an excellent careers trip where students took part in the Made in Yorkshire challenge, a hard fought fixture for the Y10 football team and some training for our young journalists which continues next week. We also released information this week about our residential to Marrick Priory - I understand there are only 2 places left so make sure you sign up quick!
Next week our Y7 and Y9 cycle assessments begin. All assessments will take place during lesson time. You received some information last week which detailed topic lists and information on revision for the assessments. Alongside this we also have the intermediate maths challenge and a range of students will be competing.
Last October a number of Y10 and Y11 students visited Normandy. This was the first overseas residential the academy has done in over 10 years (so I am told). I am really excited to let you know that next week we will be releasing details for next years overseas trip. Watch this space...
Have a great weekend.
Mr A Jacobs
