Hey John go into your settings when you're playing the game and turn on the new feature they added when it comes to collecting new items, it brings a whole other section where it will show you what you've gathered recently at the very top. They didn't turn it on by default for some reason and I wouldn't have even known about it if someone hadn't told me. It's funny you've made a few of the same mistakes I made in this area haha

When it comes to fighting, in the edited videos of the main game all we got to see was *that* you improved, whereas with these unedited videos we get to see *how* you improve and I just think that's really neat

This is in regard to the first vid but kinda applies to everything from my experience thus far: Blackgaol Knight is annoyingly a pretty accurate primer for the majority of dlc enemies and bosses: seemingly endless chained combos, punish you directly for healing, all their attacks track movement (like how he does that bs 180 turn on the downstroke of a hit if you move), insane poise and will just poise through most attacks (while being able to interrupt any of yours). My advice? Cheese the hell out of them. Use every OP tool at your disposal. I'm so done with the souls community and their snooty attitude that makes everyone feel lesser-than if they use "helpers", etc. The enemies absolutely do not present any semblance of fairness, so why should you have to? I beat BG Knight by spamming my weapon skill incessantly (vyke's spear) 😂 and I was happier for it!
I found your channel from the bloodborne playthrough and with elden ring they've been my favorites, I'm so glad you're playing the dlc!! I love how simultaneously unserious your fromsoft playthrus are while also paying attention to the lore and characters and just enjoying the ride, I think it's the best way to experience these games and not stress over the "rightway" to play or smth

The guys who are carrying pots on top of their heads sometimes drop scadutree fragments. i think if the pot is glistening it means they will drop something rare.
Late but gonna throw this in, the director made it so armor never mattered in the dlc. Its based on sekiro so its skill based instead of face tanking every boss
Spoiled on Johntent today! Absolutely loving it. I hope you are enjoying Elden Ring, even in spite of the deaths. Little quality of life thing: they finally added a "newly acquired items" tab in the inventory, so you don't have to struggle to find stuff. You have to enable it in the Display options though.
So you can set up your health and magic flasks to work on the same menu as the spirit mount. That way, instead of cycling through those, and your physicks flask and whatever else you got on the regular item bar, you can have reserved spots for each one. I have my health flask on Y + Down, Magic on Y+Up, and Flask on Y+Left on the D-pad. Games hard enough without having to play your items like a spell caster with max spells memorized.
Not sure if John was getting irritated by dying several times in Belurat, but it always socks having to make several run backs in a area like that Also yeah, the Messmer soldiers don't play around
Ironically Sopranos is the show I've rewatched 15 times and him mentioning FMA Brotherhood has me wanting to watch back through that since I only watched it once lmao

hey john, i’m sure you already found this out by now but just in case you don’t your character can run using the same button you use to dash on torrent (idk which button that would be for you, i play on ps5) good luck with dlc!!
Any item you pick up has a little picture on the left hand side when you pick them up so you can go straight to the inventury that has the picture you see on the item glad to help 🙂
I'm sure you'll figure it out if you keep trying but there's basically only one specific way to kill the fire giants, unless your damage output is *massive* They seem near impossible at first but once you figure it out you might end up being a lunatic like me and searching down every one. 😅

You can also sprint by holding B (Xbox) or tapping it when on Torrent. L3 is a quick dismount off torrent as well. Enjoying the playthrough!
