Good luck on your test! These questions are a mix of straight forward questions and quirky ones that make you apply your knowledge differently. The test will be much more like the questions that are in the book or my non-goofy questions.
Isn't that the point!? And doesn't he state that in the first five minutes. 😳 I am Coming up on my Wset two exam and one thing I've learned during this process is that you can study to the book and pass the exam. Or you can really apply yourself and thoroughly learn wine on the level that you should know wine to pass the exam.. which in turn will also give you that passing score. But of the twice options, is much more fulfilling. And depending on Your goals, a more valuable achievement. This video is a great example of how you can get Fully involved in what wset aims to teach you. It's beyond the just study the questions and pass the exam, mentality. But that's just where I am at and why I value it. Plus the corky aspect of questioning is right up my alley so the material seems to stick more so than if it were a straightforward black-and-white no bullshit kind of video. Keep them coming!
Good luck! Sorry I couldn't get more out but the ol' day job, wife, kids, and holidays make things crazy. I hope you pass so you can use my level 3 stuff when I get around to it after this series.
Funkify! Lol! My new favorite word😂 Taking my WSET level2 exam this week, came across your channel and really enjoyed it (and your humour!) Well done sir, all the best!
Thanks for your humorous take on the Level 2 content. I’m a fellow acid junky about to do the WSET Level 2 course at WSET school in London. I’ll ask them about the strange flavour descriptors - red apple being a green fruit and cherries not being a stone fruit… 🤷🏻♀️
Very very nice! Loved all the questions! 24 out of 25. Got question 12 wrong.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Ok not really... 6 got me....had 2 “it depends” answers and picked the wrong one... I’d love to debate 23.... I did get it right but with a logarithmic scale, 4 is a big jump from 3.3.....but that’s the science geek in me...
I put number six in because I had a similar question on my WSET 2 and I'm very sure it was one of the two questions I missed on the test. As for 23, There is a space where red wines and white wines overlap in their overall acidity, but white wines tend to have a lower pH. On that note, I had an Eiswein from 1971 the other day and I'm sure the pH was under 3. I drank a glass and felt like my throat was chemically burned. I would add that wine to my "if money wasn't an issue" list though. It was amazing!
Thanks Stuart. I’ll let you know if I have a question like that on my test. 👍👍👍. And I do love icewines. Being close to the Niagara AVA and only 2 hours from Inniskillin on.inniskillin.com/Wines/Icewine/Vidal-Icewine I can have a bunch of different tastings. But I am a fan of the Vidal, probably due to the fact it was the first one I ever tried a long long time ago.
Great quiz 👌 I have literally enjoyed every bit of second of this vdo. And yeah scored 25/25.....and m giving my wsetlevel2 exam next month so wish me luck and share some tips 🙏,moreover thanks for this beautiful presentation ❤
As for tips: make sure to look over the test breakdown in the spec book. They have the weighted breakdown of what percentage of questions will be on the test. You can spend your study time to match the weight of the sections.
I have an issue with Q13, the description wasn't about intensity of the wine. I learnt that your food should play a key role than wine during pairing. I.e wine should not over power the food. however, the intensities should always match. Maybe the question was not that specific/clear. Good Job though.
Great question! Off of the top of my head, I can think of two things that would cause a wine to have no nose at all. First, is that it's just not a highly aromatic grape. In this case, going with light would be appropriate. However, if you're getting nothing at all, then the wine may have a wine fault called Oxidation. This is from too much oxygen exposure to the wine breaking down the phenolics in the wine. On the palate, the wine will taste dull or "flat." In some extreme cases, they can have funky tastes like wet wool.
Brother, as a wine professional.. what are you doing here? this was 30 minutes of rage watching with a room of all my wine friends. Pints of wine... wow..
At least I brought you and your friends closer together during this year. You know, it's a bit of a rough time for a lot of folks out there. Sometimes, a bit of shared agony is the thing that binds us and keeps us strong during the rough times...
You contradicted yourself at 7.25 question 5 where you said dark to describe the appearance of the wine which is the answer (Dark) to question 3 please correct me if I am wrong
Good question! I can see where you think it's a contradiction but, in the context of that explanation, it's not. Question 3 focuses on the "official" descriptors that you must use when describing wine according to the WSET. In the later question, I was just causally discussing how to tell the difference between colors. If I was officially describing the wine according to WSET, then I would have used pale, medium, or deep on the sheet.
Some of the questions are totally tongue-in-cheek, but a good number of them are similar to what I saw on the test when I our practice test and the actual exam. When did you take it? I'm wondering if the question format has changed.
Great questions and thank you for having a bit of fun along the way. Loved it.
Thanks! I didn't want the questions to be too stuffy but I also wanted to apply the concepts of the chapter.
These are great, thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion for wine!
Spread your wisdom master Stuart !!!!
Getting a start on it...
I am taking level 2 in a week. These questions are different than the questions the class preps you for. Thank you

@@nicoleobrien82507 that was a long diatribe. 🤪
I have a question on No. 21. I remember more sweetness increases the body and more acidity decreases the body.
Thank you so much for this video! I am taking my exam this afternoon and this practice exam is a great help
Good luck! Sorry I couldn't get more out but the ol' day job, wife, kids, and holidays make things crazy. I hope you pass so you can use my level 3 stuff when I get around to it after this series.

Yeah, let me know what they say. I'd be interested to understand their approach for that categorization.
I am looking forward to the next quiz. Thank you for taking the time to do these.
Yeah, I'm glad you like it. I'm working on getting these done as quickly as possible. There are only so many hours in the day...

Ha ha ha, I have 825ml glasses!
"A glass of wine" is easily a full bottle.
I've had days like that...
for question 9 you assume that there intensity is. What if the aroma has no intensity at all? You can't say low because there is no aroma at all.

Test is on tuesday, they no longer use salmon for rose. Pink, pink orange, orange
I guess the card that I had was from the previous version. Thanks for the update!
Yeah about the red apple...still don't agree with that. Loved this btw!! ,,,,,,,,,,,
Glad you liked it! I'm seeing some good comments on this series so I'll get to work on the next quiz.
Starts at 2:21
Thank you for this. I'll try to update the video with time stamps so folks can skip around on questions.

This is a dummy quiz, and nothing similar to any question style in the book. Thanks for trying anyway.
