      How? Prospect rankings don't mean anything. Minimal big league contributions thus far so how are we going to rave about our farm system. Too early. Most "top" prospects are busts... we will be VERY lucky if 2 of the "big 4" turn out to be above average big leaguers.

    Always good to hear things like this,but we don’t really have a great pitching prospect,do we?

    • @redseatradio
      @redseatradio  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There are a couple actually. Luis Perales was a top 100 prospect before getting injured this year, Hunter Dobbins got national recognition for his performance this year, David Sandlin had one of the best fastballs in the minors this year, there are 2-3 names that are coming out of the Dominican summer league that are really impressive. Plus they drafted about 14-16 pitchers in this years draft.

    • @kenzheng9732
      @kenzheng9732 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@redseatradio I mean big names like Matt Barnes that year,we don’t have pitching prospects in the top-middle of top 100. That’s the problem these days. We have lots of great position players. We can’t enter the postseason if there’s no ace in the team.Tanner Houck isn’t good enough,we must sign guys like Corbin Burnes,and trade some pitching prospects like Skenes. But on bright side,Bello is getting better,he’ll be the next Pedro.

    • @redseatradio
      @redseatradio  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Ceiling wise? Tough question to answer with just how young they are in the Sox system. Both he and Cespedes had real breakout years, Romero made a really impressive comeback, and Nazzan really struggled but has so much talent. However what I will say is he is absolutely the best fielder of this group. If that bat keeps developing he could be the best. There is a reason he of those guys is the one being nationally recognized

  • @atgn70
    @atgn70 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Arias also had a 2-30 stretch in the middle of his Salem tenure to deflate his #'s. Guy started hot and finished hot. What people should like about Arias is that he doesn't have to overdo it with trajectory and tilt to hit for power. He gets plenty of the strike zone which will allow him to succeed with risp.

    These guys make it so much easier for the Sox to move on from Marcelo. Mayer would definitely bring back some solid arms and avoid another Story Pt2. Promise that never comes to fruition due to constant nagging injuries.

    • @redseatradio
      @redseatradio  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If Marcelo Mayer has the first 6 seasons that Story had the Sox would be in a really good position. I think people forget that story played baseball before he joined the Red Sox

    13k subs. Well done. I don't know how the farm system works, but this kid looks like he's got a high ceiling. However, given what we know about FSG, what are the chances they'd trade him for a couple of players?

    I have to give Boston front office credit- rewind to the dismissal of Dave Dombrowski. John Henry hires Chaim Bloom and the message is the organization is going to focus on building up the farm system - of course this is a money saving move. Since then they certainly have identified some extraordinary talent since 2020. Hopefully Breslow can utilize these prospect to help the major league club- great report Corbin.

    • @redseatradio
      @redseatradio  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

  • @thereboot5247
    @thereboot5247 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

    It's good news to hear, but I won't bet all my chips on it yet. If the Sox are smart and aggressive this offseason, I see them holding onto Arias for another season to make sure their major league team is steady and to increase his value when they do trade him. Someone like Cambell I can see getting traded instead and of course there's Abreu and hopefully Yoshida. With Yoshida I'd honestly like to see just a salary dump, take some low talent to get rid of the big contract and use that new open spot to bring up prospects and keep Cedanne in the outfield cause he's amazing there

    so silly me i have never heard of him until a lot of people were hyping him up and talking about him. so i watched more highlights and analysis and this kid is legit like hes the real deal at only 18 years old. wow. when he gets to the majors how he will fit in the red sox middle infield rotation will be interesting. tou could have mayer at short campbell at second and potentially have arias backup mayer down the line. seems exciting. i honestly consider the top 6 guys untouchable but thats just me. but as always great video corbin!!❤️

    After the big four arrived+they trade Abreu + Hamilton for pitching, the RS will not need to get many free agents. Brewslow should trade some of their lower levels proscepts before the Rule 5 draft. First time in years the RS have had money and tradeable proscepts to build an awesome team. 2016 was the last time. After the required trade where are major holes. Relief pitching+Right-handed power hitting. Their trades should get one good starter+reliever +a decent reliever. Their farm system will get drop the rankings for 2 years.

    • @redseatradio
      @redseatradio  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Agreed they are in a really great position, and if all goes well in trade execution, I dont think anyone is really going to care all that much if they go from a top 5 farm system to a top 10 or 15

    Seeing how many unheralded guys have come out of nowhere, attacked the offseason wishes of the org and had success has to build some sort of buy in organizationally with new guys they bring in. Whether it’s Kristian Campbell going from a 4th rounder and jumping 3 levels to AAA in 1 year, or Anthony as an over slot 2nd rounder jumping 3 levels to AA in one year, has to give the org some confidence that they’ve figured something out from a hitting perspective, and maybe they’re willing to move some in order to get better on the major league side. Hope he really attacks the offseason, puts on some weight to keep driving the ball and who knows, maybe he gets up to AA next year and really knocks on the door of some top 25 lists next season

    • @redseatradio

  • @Bondagefetishstore

    Mayer should be in majors this year. The Red Sox will have to decide which one is better long term. Arias or Mayer, If they feel Arias is going to be better you can trade Mayer when Arias is ready. Hold onto both for now. They should be looking to trade Story at the trade deadline if he is healthy. Trading young major league talent is when they are most valuable. There is also many players in between that are valuable like Romano.
    it is a good thing to have a replacement in high minors who is as good or better ready to step in in case of injury.

    • @redseatradio

      @@redseatradio I do understand what the Red Sox are trying to do. They are trying to keep payroll down but it will raise as the younger players reach arbitration. They will also pay the superstars on the team. Bogarts was gone as soon as they drafted Mayers. Where Bloom failed was he could not get rid of the impending free agents when he should have. 2022. In 2023 he should have bought. There were some players that would have never made the team. This is where Breslow excelled. He was not afraid to trade players that would not be impactful in Boston. Some of them will go on to have gapped carreersSuch is life. But, it made room for the next batch of players to come up who were better than the ones traded.

    He's a very good player, even a star in the lower minors, but he's small. I could see him some day as a utility guy in MLB. He's a Brainer Bonaci type of baseball player. (Sadly, Brainer was released today, due to an abusive personality with his family.) I think Cespedes is much better.
