Every moment in sports where a team comes from behind or does the impossible, it starts with a belief. Velenti is analytical and adding up the numbers, hope and belief are not analytical. The mindset of pro athlete is that they can do it until proven otherwise. The Lions believe they can win until the last 3 games proves otherwise, so the analytical view of the injuries seems crazy. This will be the Lions finest hour or turn into what Valenti believes.
It’s good that the players are approaching it this way but fans are left to speculate until we see the results.. we’re not in the locker room so for all we know it’s a facade.. I’m not doubting the determination in the locker room but talent matters too and a lot of it will be on the sideline for the rest of the season
They keep saying who cares about the loss to the Bills. The Rams showed you how to beat the Bills. Get up early and hold on for dear life. If the Lions would've gone up 7-0 to start that game, who knows how it would've played out. It also wouldn't have hurt if the coaching staff considered that perhaps Ty Johnson might be in the game plan.
Scheme change .. Branch move to Hybrid LB/DB especially on key downs, have Brandon Joseph replace Branch at strong safety. This will help the depleted LB room. Branch will stop the run and cover TE's and RB's better than Long or Alexander.
Valenti and Rico approach this from the sports radio jock and average fan perspective. Being analytical and logical, the Lions should have been cooked weeks ago. An "analytical and logical" Lions team would be 8-6 or 9-5 at best, looking at.the injuries. The "unpredictable nature of football, the superior coaching, the superior grit mentality and hyper cohesive" Lions team has risen above analysis and logic to be 12-2. AG said it before - the most powerful drug is belief. If this battered team can break down these last 3 games into manageable chunks to win one at a time, they can do it because they are so mentally tough. It will NOT be easy, but it can be done. They have proved me wrong too many times in the past. I no longer have Lions PTSD. I think they're going to be on a mission in Chicago. Whether they win by 3 or 30, I expect to see a determined Lions team. Put the Bears down 14 points early and they will roll over. One Pride! Go Lions!
I CAN'T STAND VALENTI! Who cares what he needs to see from the Lions. Rico is a clown too. You don't hear them saying KC needs to blow everyone out. Just win the damn game and come out healthy.
The Lions should just bench all their starters over the next 3 weeks and go into the playoffs healthy and rested. Heck, they're 6-0 on the road anyway, including wins over really good teams.
What if the Lions coaches want to beat the bears without using a lot of energy. Conserving energy for the playoffs. Knowing that beating the bears 20-10 is the same win as 45 - 10. And creating some extra rest for certain players.

Well said.
Any true Lions fan that understands the game of football DEFINITELY realizes how good Alim is and how big of a loss he is.

Also, whatever the defense was doing in the first half wasn't working. There were zero adjustments made at halftime.
Fire the whole conditioning staff

Cover 3 roll 2 on runner qbs
Why do all these talking heads want the coaches to say the season is over?
TJ is right. Keep the positive vibes and manifest the good. Feed the right wolf.
Philly has been on another level.
Tbh it doesn't matter what AG does he has 80 percent of his defense missing from week 1.
It doesn't matter. Next man up. It's all X's and O's at the end of the day
TJ lang about to get canceled 😂😂😂
Chiefs are barely beating anybody but Lions need to have a blowout against Bears?!?
We clinched a playoffs spot relax

Changing the mentality that got them where they are would do more harm than good. Especially this late in the season.
this show blows
