Jason, this was an insanely cool haul! Fair flipping play, dude. I am yet to see the new GITS movie and am desperate to! Some really, really good merch you've got there. Also: I know the feeling of having to rotate collectibles on display, ha! Owww I would love to go nerd/figure shopping with you man, we would geek out like crazy, haha.
Jason Is Lost In Japan Know the feeling... I cannot display most of what I have cause of how my apt is set up. I will say this... when you walk in the door there are 3 starter digimon pictures hanging up and a Harry potter year 3 poster... The rest is hidden in boxes, lol. I also have to check I think I still have my Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone T shirt from years ago... and you got a good deal on all of that. :)
Looking on Ebay; most of the large Tachikoma's are worth anything from £20 and most of the figures are selling at £20-£70. Fair to say I think you got a pretty decent deal! :)
+Kate Dawson Thanks for taking a look! I researched and apparently most are from old Ichibankuji, the contest prizes like the Pikachu I just won, as shown on my Instagram =) (JasonIsLost, if you're curious!)
I'm a bit late but the figure at 12:12 is referred to as an armored suit, specifically the Russian Dazhdbog variant. They appear throughout Stand Alone Complex 2nd GiG.
Ahhh! Is that Ritsu in the background on the drums?! I wish I could find K-On! figures here in the States! I just went to Anime Boston and couldn't find anything. Great haul, Jason. Thanks for sharing :)
The motoko figure in 4:20 It's I think It's a toy based on the first manga , in the first manga there is a scene where section 9 goes to a boat to investigate and motoko had those clothes
As a deep GitS fanboy, this is an enormous haul of awesome stuff. All of the grey bases are out of the manga and are a lot of obscure characters, the others are variants of SAC and ARISE. Where did you get this box? I would very much love to have those characters from the manga, that's awesome to see them as figurines!
Hey Jason my name is Tamara :) Im from Mexico & Im going to go to Japan in a few months, I love anime & video games I just want to know If u have some sugestions for me Im a little bit lost :c I love your channel I just dicovered
Hey Tamm! Thanks for checking out my channel! First key bit of advice is look on Tokyocheapo.com, they have a lot of handy guides but also a calendar of events (there is always events going on very week) so you can plan ahead and know whats happening just round the corner from you. Akihabara is the geek capital of Tokyo, though I love it's little brother Nakano Brother, lots of fun there!
Awesome haul! I love Mandarake. I shop there from time to time and their prices are always so cheap and the quality is amazing. I wish I could go in person, but at least they offer international shipping. I could be wrong since I don't recognize the characters but some of the figures look like they're leaning. It's a common problem for old figures. It may not bother you but in case it does you can dunk it in warm water and carefully bend the plastic while it's still soft so they stand upright again. It'll harden to the position to leave it in. myfigurecollection.net/blog/32592
+GrimGracious Thank you so much for the advice! I shall look into that. I'll also keep popping my head into Mandarake, there's a few stores in Tokyo and always fun! Video on Nagano Broadway soon!
