I been saying that this Thunder team is much more well put together than the 2012 team and they have a system the 2012 team was just athletic wings who can’t shoot watching KD and Russ take turns isolating
The most underrated aspect of the old team and the current is the coaches. Scott Brooks was not great but solid…I think our current coach is a huge upgrade with a ‘real’ system in place. But I appreciate what Brooks did!🎉
This team isn't in the same category as the team with KD, Russ, Harden and Ibaka. That was the only team in the history of the NBA with 3 MVP level players on it. That's never happened and I don't think will ever happen again and Presti blew what would have clearly been a dynasty by trading Harden which will go down as arguably the stupidest trade in history. I like this current team a lot but yeah, not even close. Also Wemby is going to win ROTY so I don't know where this guy came up with that. Chet is fantastic though.
Harden was good but he wasnt at the level he was with the rockets... in hindsight its horrible but at the time it was ok.. stop talking like kd wb and harden were in their prime when he decided to let one go lmao
@@fazio-blockz1889 It wasn't ok at the time it was a freaking idiotic decision and it clearly cost OKC a dynasty. There isn't any other way to look at it.
Prisoners of the moment…This isn’t a conversation if ever. That team went to 4 out of 6 western conferences at the same time Tim Duncan, Kobe, Dirk, prime CP3 were all in the league and had to face Miami Bron. This team might not even beat Gobert and KAT let alone the champs lol. Let’s not make comparisons for comparisons sake.
It has potential to be better, but those are big shoes to fill. I just think that Presti learned from his mistakes and he’s about to build something special
Okc has been fun to watch for the last years. Even moves that "don't make sense", in the long-run make sense, so I am excited to see how it all works out. When they chose Dort, I knew they saw gold, and he is gold.
@@ArtisWrldhoneslty i know we have not won a championship but considering how long we’ve been a team and how many seasons we’ve missed the playoffs it’s quite surprising, okc is one of the best rounded teams in the league and i hope soon they can finally win a championship
Presti is no longer trying to build a Championship Team. He is trying to build a self reloading dynasty. When he gets 4 max players he will be forced to trade one of them for multiple First Round picks...which will give him a chance to draft more future max players which will force him to trade one again, etc.
SGA is probably pretty close to the player KD was back then, but SGA is a bit older. Jalen Williams is probably better than Harden was before Harden got traded, but a lot of that is the reduced role Harden had as a sixth man player. Chet is obviously a lot better than Ibaka, even if he is still adjusting to the game physically. Dort is a borderline starter, but he has played better offensively this season and is definitely better than Perkins was. The old team also had Westbrook though, who was another star. I think the biggest difference is that this new team has much better depth with their role players (Joe, Wallace, Kenrich, and Wiggins), and the team has better synergy, whereas the old team was more just a force of nature with overwhelming talent. I will say that it is possible that Cason Wallace is flying a little under the radar currently because he is a rookie. But he does not play like a rookie and is performing very well in a limited role. It is also possible that Gordon Hayward makes them more dangerous in the playoffs if he's healthy and plays like his old self, but that is a big if. Giddey took a step backwards this season, which has been disappointing.
Boricua Hispanic indian n black IAM. Shai chet n Jalen are the all star of the OKC n the back up is great players . They going to win the championship. Today they going to win, they playing Huston rockets two time. OKC is the real deal n my favorite team of the year. Young talented players God bless you and win the championship.
I felt like Perkins really helped on defense and to add toughness to the team. To me, it felt like the real mistake was prioritizing Serge Ibaka over James Harden.
It seems criminal that socalled basketball experts would rate greg oden over kevin durant. I remember oden was seen as a player with lots of promise, but he had real physical issues, in comparison, durant for years, long before his historical freshman season at texas had the potential to be all time player. It's essy, presti would have drafted both durant and holmgren first. Both men are quintessential versions of what presti wants in nba player. True genius was his evaluation of SGA.
Boricua Hispanic indian n black IAM. Yesterday the OKC playing again Portland trail blazers. Chet have 23 point n 18 n rebound Shai have 37 point n Jalen about 30 point . I say it before. OKC have 3 all-star. The back up playing amazing n Olmos each players of the Back up have 10 point if they playing like that together they going to win the championship. Each players era importan to win n to have a championship rings each players to make history n memory.
This team is built so differently and so much deeper than the KD Russ teams i hated on presti for years over how it all played out but ive had to eat crow on that because he outdid himself with the new core Thunder ⛈️ up baby
Idk about that, current OKC myb more well rounded, but that doesn't mean that they're the better team. Let's see what they can do first before calling them a better team than the KD, Russ and Harden OKC who went to the NBA fnals
Boricua Hispanic indian n black IAM. I have Jalen William card n josh Wallace Aaron n I try to get Shai n chet n other players the all the players basketball cards. I like the bulls from the 90 . But OKC is one of my favorites younger players
Presti did choose between Westbrook and Harden , he chose between Ibaka and Harden and I thibk he chose wrong but we will never know. More often tban not he chooses right

Couldn't have said it better myself!
This thunder team feels like what Sam presti wanted in 2012 but the league wasn’t quite ready for.
The most underrated aspect of the old team and the current is the coaches. Scott Brooks was not great but solid…I think our current coach is a huge upgrade with a ‘real’ system in place. But I appreciate what Brooks did!🎉
2012 okc sweeping them
As an OKC fan you couldn’t be more right, this team is so deep

yeah, and saying shai was a throw in from the clippers on the pg trade? that isn't right at all.

Current OKC isn't more talented than their 2012 counterpart but they play more mature and the rest of the roster is well put together.

We need time to incorporate the two new additions BUT I’m ready for the PLAYOFFS

The thunder got lucky with the acquisition of sga. No one could have a predicted his greatness.

Well they definitely can shoot the 3 better
2012 okc is more talented. 3 hofers MVPs it’s not close
This team will win a chip.
That one didn’t.

Presti must of been a kid in those days.
I hope Chet doesn't get injured again
The key to this rebuild is that chet remain injury free so he can develop into a complete player.
Imagine chet on those Durrant teams
Chet’s not gonna win ROTY dawg😅
They learned....
Comparing the Russ thunder and the harden hou is just not fair, Houston had a way better overall team

Is Kd a free agent next season?
He signed an extension last time I checked
Nah we don't want him back
Only way this team sniffs that OKC team lol
That's just not true this okc is struggling to rebound and its pissing me off
Pronounce Shai’s name right! Watch games! It’s “Gil-Jiss” not “Gil-Gus”
Dallas 146……..OKC 111?
WTF are you talking about? Get out of Oklahoma and watch the some other teams SOONER……
