The legs in the air during the fight absolutely kill me. I laugh so damn hard during this scene. And Danny’s face adds on😂😂 these movies getter better and better throughout the years
Whats great about this movie is about half of the movie you are literally getting the story from Toulours perspective, as youre watching so was he, and we were fooled, just like Toulour
@troyadler2616 I would say to be fair to Toulour, his mentor told Danny and his crew where the real egg was gonna be, so they were able to steal it before the challenge officially started. But then I also remembered the mentor told them that he was gonna have them under surveillance 24/7, so it was rigged right from the start.
I get what they were going for, showing how thoroughly they conned Toulour by staging this spectacle for his benefit, then shitting on his moment of triumph, but as presented, it's the audience who feels conned. It's one thing to say, "Oh, they're the SWAT team," or "Oh, Linus' dad is the FBI agent and it was always part of the plan to have him come". It's another thing to invest the audience in a challenge, then show that it was won before the villain was even introduced.
I agree completely - it's why the first watch of this movie is the worst watch, and the second watch is redeeming because you're in on the heist (and in my opinion, it becomes a great movie thereafter). Perhaps the writers/editors of Ocean's 12, if they had understood the bitter taste audiences would have at the ass-pull of an ending, would have reordered the series of events to show the team doing the egg-lift (without the audience knowing what they stole, or if they'd stolen anything at all) as the first scene of the team's re-introduction on their way to meet Toulour. It works with some added context to see the guys fighting (or to see one of their own, like Linus, break the fight up) on the train, to see them getting off the train and seemingly being not quite as coherent and respectful to each other as in Ocean's 11, and then throughout the whole movie kind of seeming incompetent or just not prepared for this job. With some proper, sly and subtle winking at the first scene throughout the movie, keeping it at the back of everyone's mind, and then revealing its true purpose in the end, the movie remains a heist while the ending is pulled out of thin fucking air in the last few minutes. That's how I'd have fixed it, anyways.
@@jemmoto9323 I bought the official soundtrack album and this wasn't on it, just seemed a shame. The Ocean's Eleven soundtrack is much more complete by comparison.
I know this has been a while but I love this movie and I've watched a dozen times since its release. I think what he meant was that even though they are grateful he is helping them save their lives he is still getting the better deal. The egg and his daughter from them. Despite the fact that he almost got them killed they don't feel he needs to apologize to them. Talk about getting the better of them.
@@jesuschristwithajhericurl2739 He means he's still getting the better end of the deal because even though he's saving their lives (which is huge) he gets the egg back, and most importantly, gets reunited with his daughter without spending a dime or lifting a finger.

I can still find very hard to belive one thing. The fact that they know the train , location and dastination of the egg but how would them know the type and model of backpack + the shirt it was tucked in it and copy them exactly. And even so this would be possible there was 3 guard with tha egg, and one of them was entitled to keep perfect carre of it , i dont think it would be put in the seat next to him (the words case scenario it would be the seat to the window or layig down next to his feet). Even so , it has to be a pressure carryng a multi- milion dolars object , you will keep eyes and hands on it even if the entire train starts a fight . So them being 3 t , two of them could aplanate the fight wile one will stay close to the egg. This is my opinion , but also is just a movie( A movie from a trilogy that i love maybe more then The Lord of the Rings) , and at somepoint it has a few ideas that it could be better ( i felt that Oceans 11 and 13 was in another league ). Even so , cant wait the ocasion to watch the series again . Have a great day!
They had inside information about the exact details of the egg's transport. It's really not any more of a stretch to imagine they would be able to get inside info about the everything you mentioned. As for it being on the seat, that's the best way to keep it actually in sight the whole time. if it's on the floor, you can't do that. And don't forget, the guys transporting it think that nobody knows about the egg, so they're not as alert as they should be.
My favorite part of this is the music queue. Its the original sample of "Thief's Theme" by Nas which was Iron Butterfly's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida". Just a nice touch.

DarthOliptius No. If you remember, at the end, when Tess and Danny visit Toulour at his villa, they say “You are the best”. The only reason they got the better of him was because they cut a deal with LeMarc so he could see his daughter again

Danny, Rusty and co. had to balance many more balls than Touloure had to
The convoy way was too risky. Maybe they got attacked by a group of terrorist, or by some group while on the way to museum. So the only save way, is bring not suspicious looking bag, and blend in to crowd.
