Then between mid-92 and late-93 he rides the streets into power and purges the girondins, but also does and supports some good/moral things, and the constitution of 1793 is remarkable for how much it scared the bejeezus out of all conservatives everywhere without ever coming into effect, so it´s a mixed slate. Then, as Duncan points out, he completely loses it in early 1794, and becomes a villain very much worth overthrowing and un-aliving.
