Boy, I am very fortunate to be born in the '70s and witnessed greatness growing up till the '90s. OPM music was the best in the Philippines. TV shows were great, low crime rate, no such thing as a pandemic, people feared God, and sarap mabuhay noon. Ngayon, walang nang nagsu-sulat ng magagandang kanta. We have good singers but, they mostly sing revivals, and foreign songs because wala ng mga skills magsulat ng kanta.

Yes same with me. I was born before the 60's, the decade of British invasion in music. In the 70's, Basil became an overnight OPM star with the hitsong NGAYON AT KIAILANMAN. I was graduating in college in '82 when this song was a blockbuster .... Until now it still is beautiful to the ears. The 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's are the decades of the golden music... That will never be repeated in the future.
