Never knew how this was done. It looks quite simple when you do it, so I'm sure it's a lot harder than you made it look. Thanks for giving me something to watch on my lunch break
I found when it happened to me a magnetic pick-up tool and slowly following the fuel line along until it catches on to it, then carefully pulling it up . What injector is it ?
Hi mate great video changed all of my injectors, but unfortunately no4 nut slid down pipe (only taped it up)apart from pick up tool is there any other way to get it up thanks
I found the best way when it's really stuck is to spray penetrating oil around the injector and try to work it back and forth using a screwdriver or pry bar against the fuel line connector on the injector be sure to only twist it a small amount in both directions as the injector can come apart and that would be a nightmare to deal with . If your engine runs you can also let it get up to operating temp and them try removing it as the tar and carbon would be more fluid but it doesn't move after trying that then you would need an injector puller
Hi Dobby, thank you for making this video, would you say that it is OK to remove the electrical connector on the injectors one by one to diagnose which injector is faulty?
No problem, thank you for commet , and yeah, you can remove them one by one. Just be aware that it will set a code for each injector when removing them that will need to be cleared down , but evjen the cheap code readers can do this it's also possible the car will cut out when removing them feel free to ask if u have any other questions
@@dobbyrepairs I have now changed the faulty injector, thanks to your help, it was fiddly, but more straightforward than I thought previously, your tip of putting something around the fuel pipe to stop the flange nut disappearing down the pipe was brilliant. The only issue I had was a piece of the leak off connector snapping. 😟
Great video. I have this same car and its thrown up a faulty positive wire code to injector 3 so might be a break in the wire somewhere. My question is without me having to remove too much, what colour is the wire im looking for please?
Hi not sure what colour the positive wire is sorry about that . If you have a multimeter on hand set it to 20 volts DC and check the wires at the connector it should have 2 pins inside start the engine and probe them see which one has a voltage on it just make sure the black probe on the meter has a good ground check injector you know is working first then check the bad one and ill do some more digging the see if I can get the info for you
It depends on the brand of injector I've fitted lucus and Bosch injectors and they don't need programming. It normally says if the injector will need programming in the fitment details if in doubt ask the parts place you're getting it from . I've been told second hand injectors will require programming but as I haven't fitted one I can't be. Sure if this is true hope this helps
@@dobbyrepairs thanks for the reply. Injector 3 was misfiring and engine management light came on. Wouldn’t let me drive off after that. I’ll enquire tomorrow when everything is open again

I'm happy to hear you're my videos. Thanks for watching
If one forgot to put a cable tie on and the flare nut when down fuel pipe how would be the easiest way to retrieve it

@@dobbyrepairs injector 4 😶
Might be a good idea to pull the fuel filter out and get a bit more room
Did you have to attach the pick up tool to the fuel pipe or just prod about

What's the best way of getting injector out if it's been chuffing for a while and is surrounded with carbon etc

Awesome to hear you sorted it and the leak off connector breaking is a bit of a pain. You can pick a new one from amazon eBay or auto doc .
@@dobbyrepairs I have just ordered one from ebay, so it will soon be all done. Keep up the good work with the vids. 😊

Having done some more digging the positive is a orange wire on the left hand side of the connector as you look at it
Brilliant thankyou that helps massively

Hi dobby which side is injector 1 on? Is it on the right or left
It is on the right hand side closest to the gear box
