    Being a Christian person myself, I do relate to your thoughts on VeggieTales. Sure the majority of the series was focused on Christian themes, but the biblical morals can be easily taken out of that context and made to suit a much broader, non-religious group

    I still adore Veggietales, even to this day! The Silly Songs were always so fun, but I always got annoyed when Archibald interrupted Larry, especially when it caused the Silly Song to end on a bad note. Especially notable with the Water Buffalo and Song of The Cebu songs. I always felt bad for Larry, and disliked Archibald for the longest time. Thankfully he got character development, and I started to like him, especially as Alfred in the Larryboy franchise. I grew up with the early/mid 2000s and 2010s Veggietales movies, but I also had some of the early 90s ones, and Larry's early voice was strange to me, because I was used to the high pitched one he usually has. The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything song was my favorite Silly Song, and my favorite episode was the Lord Of The Beans episode. I've been planning on rewatching the series again, as I've seen some funny clips. While not Veggietales related, I do have to talk about the California Raisins a bit, as I've currently been hyperfixated on Will Vinton Claymation. They had some surprisingly clever worldbuilding with all the parody bands [Bruce Springbean for one], and tons of food and music based jokes, that actually bare some similarities to Veggietales' humor. However the Raisins wouldn't be fully developed until 1988, when the Meet The Raisins special premiered. The special focuses on a specific group of raisins: A.C., Beebop, Stetch, and Red, and tells of the group's backstory. Again, using clever humor, references, and even a surprising amount of heart for something based on a food product. It even won an EMMY! A year later, there was a Saturday Morning cartoon that continued to use the 4 raisins from the special, but it was a mixed bag. Some episodes were good, like A Royal Mess, The Good The Bad The Broccoli, Lights Camera Disaster, and You Can't Grow Home Again, but most of the time the series was bad and flanderized the characters. In 1990, Raisins Sold Out was made, and focused more on the characters. I won't spoil anything, but we get to delve a bit into some of the character's, namely A.C.'s insecurities, making them more relatable. While the Raisins vanished in 1994, their legacy still lasts in many ways, including the M&Ms Spokescandies being spiritual successors to the Raisins. My mom introduced me to the California Raisins, Domino's Pizza's The Noid, and a lot of other 80s stuff, and we still talk about vintage mascots and Will Vinton's Claymation. Will Vinton's Dinosaur special was one she watched during her childhood, and when I got the Claydream documentary 2-disk DVD set, we watched the Dinosaur special after the documentary. Honestly, the entire story of Will Vinton Studios, is a wild one, but a very bittersweet one. I personally think it's unfair what happened to him. At least his characters and legacy still live on. Sorry this was a long read, but seeing Veggietales again caused me to remember my nostalgia and my current hyperfixation

    40:12 I actually thought Uniqua was a ladybug for the longest time as a kid seeing her lol- The things on her heads plus the spots just made me go "yep, that's a ladybug" I guess. Could work for her being called Uniqua, as she's more insectoid compared to the others in the cast who are all different mammals, and thus unique as insectoid character designs aren't too common in kids shows like the Backyardigans.
    edit: anyways, after watching the whole thing, great video, i love it! :D lots of nostalgia for me as I was a huge sprouts, noggin/nick.jr, and playhouse junior/disney jr. and qubo kid who also grew up in the late 2000s to early 2010s. anyways if anyone wants to talk about the stuff in here or about other things i listed above feel free to reply!

    SO MUCH NOSTALGIA [ESPECIALLY BEAR IN THE BIG BLUE HOUSE, JACK'S BIG MUSIC SHOW, SPONGEBOB, THE NICK JR FACE BUMPERS, AND VEGGIETALES]! The Puzzle Place: Although I'm a 2000s kid, I have very fuzzy memories of seeing this show somewhere, not sure. But it's a shame it fell into obscurity. Unfortuneately, The Puzzle Place is not the only victim of "overshadowed by Sesame Steet and become lost media" syndrome. Two notable ones are Pinwheel and The Great Space Coaster. Both shows my mom grew up with and introduced me to. Pinwheel was a chill, laid back show, that focused on character interaction and music. It was first created in 1977, and without Pinwheel, we'd have no Nickelodeon, which makes the treatment of Pinwheel even more frustrating IMO. There's only a few episodes as well as the Songbook compilation on TH-cam, but I do highly recommend Pinwheel. The Great Space Coaster was created in the early 80s, and had a more chaotic, but fun vibe. Baxter the Clown was the main puppet, and he is very relatable. He can turn invisible whenever he's in a stressful situation, but later seasons actually gave him character development. He adopted three little creatures called The Huggles. Baxter's backstory is that he escaped from a circus ran by the villianous M.T Promises. There are a lot of fun characters in The Great Space Coaster, but just like Pinwheel, the show is mostly lost. There's a few episodes on TH-cam, as well as the record. And I could go on and on about Veggietales and how much I adore the show, even to this day. Larry was always my favorite, and as someone on the spectrum, I actually related to him a lot. And I couldn't stand the moments in the Silly Songs when Archibald would interrupt. For the longest time I actually disliked Archibald for being mean to Larry, but thankfully he got character development, was allowed to be silly himself, and I grew to like him [ESPECIALLY IN THE LARRYBOY MEDIA]. I believe Veggietales may have partially played a role in my obsession with mascots, especially The California Raisins. The Raisins and the Veggies may have a lot of differences, but they also have a lot of similarities too, especially in world-buiding and humor. Makes me wonder if Phill Vischer and Mike Nawrocki were fans of Will Vinton's Claymation?

    I know im super late but quite i few of these shows were pivotal for my childhood xD
    I remember Blues clues, Oobi, the backyardigans, the good night show (some of my most fond memories of my childhood came from watching that little segment), Yo gabba Gabba, Team umizoomi, wonderpets, bubble guppies, and a few more. It was rare i got to watch the TV, but when i did i watched those. I found it super interesting that theres lost media surrounding them! Thanks for making this video, It caught my eye as im big into lost music media, but mixing my childhood with my passion is super fun!!

    do you mind explaining the "a day with SpongeBob" thing? I've never heard of that

    • @xephrou
      @xephrou  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      of course!! a day with spongebob squarepants was an unauthorized mockumentary following spongebob and a kid who won a day with him as a reward for some contest or whatever ANYWAY the dvd for this movie was listed online for sale as a direct-to-dvd movie but no purchases would go through on it and that made people determined to find the movie, so much so that contact ended up being made with the production company and its owner, both of which were very shady and untrustworthy and we basically got an admission that the movie was never made, but could possibly be made in the future. some people still think the movie could be real and the production company just doesn't want to publicly say so for fear of being sued, but personally i think the whole thing was some kind of money laundering scheme or a dog whistle for something,,, i recalled all of that from memory so small details might not be super accurate but if you were really interested in the whole story blameitonjorge has a really good video about it
