It would be interesting if you picked up your phone and let us know how far away the nearest Wendy’s is.
When you go to Wendy's, film your reaction to it. I am very curious as to your thoughts on the place.
Try this.. take the chicken from their chicken sandwich and put it in a beef patty burger. Also try their baked potato and chilli.
Bro, we have states that will pay you to move to them. 😅
The square patties are made to be juicy, and tender. Many Chefs when explaining how to make a burger will say to shape into a ball. Then press flat, then use thumb to press the center even flatter. When cooked, this will make the burger less juicy, and firmer as they protein strands contract. This information is only what I have read, as to why the patties are square.
Wendy's patties are square because their motto was "We dont cut corners"
Yup, I was a co-manager for several years until I went on to different things. They were actually a good place to work in the early 2000’s. I have no reference since I left.
But they do!!😂
The patties are stamped using a in store machine that ground beef is put in the hopper and the steel plate with the square hole insured each patty was exactly the same size and thickness. First job as a teen involved loading ground beef chubs and paper squares into the machine to keep the hopper feed full while it stamped out the days projected burgers to cook required. Never a doubt it could take your hand off if it went to far into the intake.
@@M-S_4321WAIT ITS FRESH PRESSED IN STORE NO WONDER ITS SO GOOD 😮
"Square deal on a round bun"
Fries dipped in milkshakes or frosties is TOTALLY a thing in America.
Is it? I live just outside of New York City and the first time I ever heard of dipping fries into a milkshake was on the Beasly's you tube channel (they are also British) and I was pretty disgusted. I have yet to see anyone here do that. Maybe it's a west coast or Midwest thing? I've never seen anyone actually do it.
Fries in the chocolate Frosty is a must do. It sounds so wrong, but it tastes so right. I can't have a Fosty without a couple of fries.
Gotta dunk the fries!
@@alexshkoditch4593First time i ever heard of it, i was 14 working at a 70s style diner called Coasters inside of the amusement park ValleyFair in MN. I thought it was disgusting back then, but i don’t know when my taste buds switched because now i love to dip my fries in my shake. It’s an interesting combo of sweet and salty. As a Midwestern i can definitely say It’s a common thing here 👍
Oh yeah! Fries in frostys!@@VinzClorthokeymasterofGozer
British highschooler : "cheese is life*
Whelp, he's American now. 🇺🇸
I don't get it. There's not even real cheese in America.
Wendy’s. The meat is never frozen. The toppings are fresh. You gotta get a Pretzel Baconator.
…And sometimes it’s not even meat.
What's not even meat?
White Castle hamburgers are also squared patties.
Bro, if McDonalds is your baseline...then most everything over in the states is better than McDonalds
BK competes with them there at the bottom. Not much else.
@@MrCho14 Burger King is absolutely disgusting, McDonalds is ok, Wendy's is ok. Go to a local burger place in the USA and you'll have a MUCH better burger.
Wipe Castle is disgusting though.
@@johntuffield1457 Not when your drunk LOL
@@audilicous I don't frequent either very often, but choose BK over McDs. McDs is like a dessert burger and BK has that fake 'flame broiled smoke flavoring' ...neither is good.
Wendy's is much better than McDonald's
I agree McDonald's is terrible love wendys though lol
As a fast food burger joint Wendy's is WAAAYY better than McDs
Wendy's is also more expensive than McDonald's. But it is definitely better
Much better.
Yes Wendy’s serves real food which McDonald’s does not. (Most of the stuff they call food is fake food creations.) Chef Jamie Oliver just came out and proved that McDonald’s food is horrible.
Dipping fries in your milkshake was STARTED with Wendy's and the Frosty lol 🤘
4:45 Wendy's is actually known across the US for having the BEST fast food bacon
The Frosty also isn't known for being so thick it won't fall out when upside down. I'm pretty sure they confused it with the Blizzard, from Dairy Queen.
Sin_Alder: There's a local place in a Midwest area that specializes in ice cream that's called Concrete because it's so cold and has zero drip.
Hope to try it someday
@@LA_HA Culver's, the Concrete Mixer. They are delicious!
@@BlackSmokeDMax Is that the one that's family owned? I Think it's near or on a college campus, right?
@@LA_HA it’s a chain that started in Wisconsin. It has spread to surrounding states at this point. The main thing they are known for are the butter burgers. Next most popular thing is their custard and concrete mixers.
There are several chains that do this. We have Culver's, originating in the Wisconsin area. There's also Dairy Queen, which does the same thing but with softserve ice cream (the kind from McDonald's). In St. Louis we have two local chains (Mr. Freeze and Ted Drewe's), the latter only having two sites in the City of St Louis and being nationally known for their concretes.
The patties are square because Dave insisted they have fresh, quality burgers. And 'didn't cut corners.'
You are right on the advertising. But behind the scenes it was to save space and to not waste it in fridge. They never froze their burgers, always fresh. Love Wendy's much better than Micky-Ds
I heard somewhere that the reason why the patties are square is because Dave Thomas' grandmother made burger patties in that shape.
Wendy's has patios? I could've sworn they only offered indoor dining.
@@proto-geek248 They don't have patios far as I know. They spelled patties wrong.
@@proto-geek248 depends on the location. We have quite a few here in Texas with little patio spaces. Kinda like the ones at sonic
Not just well cooked crispy bacon but it's Applewood bacon.... Thick cut!
We (yes I work there) switched from hickory smoked (industry standard) to applewood bacon in 2009. I was wary of the change-until I tasted it. No comparison whatsoever. I started eating twenty pieces a day at one point.
Wendy's returned to the UK in 2021 after a 20-year break and has since opened just over 30 sites, including company-run and franchised restaurants as well as delivery kitchens. This has included four drive-through sites in Colchester, Peterborough, Derby and Brampton Hut.
Yeah. I had to look up if they had one (I was confused how they had hot Wendy’s if there wasn’t a Wendy’s in the UK).
You can't mention Iconic Wendy's without offering their chili.
I think they changed the recipe some years ago.. it used to be 1 dollar… they used to have the best chili and the heat packets would let you determine how spicy you wanted.. I used to put 3 in… but I haven’t seen that for the last several years..
Yeah the chili is awesome
The chili is still amazing. They cheated those boys not letting them have the chili. Where i live you can still get the family bucket of chili for like 10 something. Which is like equal to 5 or 6 large cups which run 3 something each. So a great deal
And the baked potato
Ikr wtf
Wendy's is actually one of the few restaurants that makes their nuggets out of actual breast meat instead of it being a mixture of breast and thigh meat and then extruded into nugget shapes. But that spicy chicken at Wendy's is 🔥
Incorrect. Basiclly all fast food chains use chicken breast for the nuggets. I know because I used to work at a factory that made them.
@@charlieschuder9976Tyson makes basically all of them, if I’ve been told correctly
@@isaackellogg3493 Definitely true for KFC and Burger King, but those were the only two fast food chains we ran in our facility (which is fairly small compared to other locations.)
The patties are square because Dave insisted they only use fresh, quality ground beef and 'didn't cut corners.' By making the patties square they stand out from the rest plus you'll remember its fresh never frozen
Lewis, Wendy's is a franchise just like Mc D's and KFC. Someone owns it you just have to pay franchise and start up fees and you can open one up and own it. Or for a grand or so buy a round trip ticket and try everything. Peace and love from Central Texas bro, your channel is what's up! Many thanks for your time and work ..
No way I leave a Wendy's without a chocolate Frosty.
Buy their Frosty key fob for $3. Proceeds go towards adoption services. Free Jr. Frosty with every purchase. It pays for itself after 2 visits. Best ever! Love their chili.
Very cool TY! Doesn't surprise me, he was adopted himself and started a foundation for adoption.@@danysmom17
Not gonna lie I love the chili too
The Wendy's chili is ordered quite often too.
It’s actually pretty awesome too. I love it.
The classic chocolate frosty is actually 1/2 vanilla and 1/2 chocolate to make a light chocolate flavor that was refreshing not heavy tasting.
In Pittsburgh we solve the last bite problem by simply putting the fries ON the burger.
True, I'm in Texas and we do that all the time, especially with What-a-burger, and their fries. Hell. I even put fries inside my What-a-catch fish sandwich.
What-a-burger is Texas' most prolific burger chain. My favorite is the double-double; double meats. Double cheese slices, plus the fixin's.
Still, IMO. The very best hamburgers. and hot dogs/chili-cheese dogs are the ones you make for yourself, and your family/friends at home, back-yard grill. Man, backyard cook-outs are the best times.
Primanti Brothers? 😋
Baconator is the GOAT.
British bacon isnt really bacon. Its more like ham. The baconator probably breaks their brains.
@@nullakjg767 I suspected that's why he said he didn't like bacon on burgers at one point--because it's not the kind of bacon he's used to (which is more or less like what we call "Canadian Bacon").
Actually, it's COW
They season the burger too… McDonald’s doesn’t
Baconator with only mayo. So much cholesterol that I can feel my blood slowing down
I love the baconator. It's one of those foods that you can feel your arteries clog with every bite.
It's actually Blizzards that are famous for not dripping. They're at Dairy Queen, and it's a rule that they have to serve them to you upside-down.
Frosties usually drip a lot in my experience. 😅 But their soft meltiness is what makes them so good for dipping fries into.
Wendy's is I think the best of the nationwide fast food chains. Overall they tend to be fresher and more consistent in my experience.
And something you might find interesting you can still get a junior cheeseburger (with the requisite lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions) and a four-piece nuggets, a small french fry and a small drink for four dollars! It's the made the same and with the same ingredients as the double cheeseburger in the video just smaller. Granted you can certainly spend more if you want but you don't have to if you're just grabbing a quick lunch.
And I like that they offer a bit healthier options too like baked potatoes instead of only having french fries, their chili (as others have mentioned) and salads. I particularly like their apple pecan salad which comes with a whole grilled chicken breast cut up in it and blue cheese.
I just googled Wendy's UK and there's a 22 locations listed (granted only 1 location per town).
Wendy's burgers are fresher, saltier, and cheese is melted!! Wayyy better than Mickey D's.
I figured they didn't have Wendy's there because Wendy's hamburgers are fresh, never frozen. So to get the proprietary meat patties there, then they would have to freeze them.
@@jeffuhrig2881Refrigerators exist lol
@@XxBollWeevilxX , duh! But do you want one or two day old hamburgers or one week old burgers.
Hear, hear!
@@jeffuhrig2881 do you really think any of the burgers you would get from a fast food place are literally two days old? How fast do you think ground beef expires? I used to work for Wendy's for years, I remember the refrigerated beef patties had an in-store self life of at least a week, probably much longer actually. Not to mention if they are flying the beef in, it's not exactly a long flight.
Wendy's also well known for their Twitter quips
their account is absolutely savage
I love sassy Wendy!
You don't mess with the Queen on Twitter.
That would be a great episode! Wendy is savage especially on roast me day.
They clapback hard as Hell! 😂😂😂
Dave actually did experimenting with the patty shape to see what cooks consistently evenly. If you find White castles they both came to the conclusion that square patties with strategically placed holes cooks completely evenly every time. It also cooks faster than other shapes.
Wendy's dine-in restaurants in the UK include:
Reading
Stratford
Oxford
Croydon
Brighton
Ilford
Camden
Romford
Maidstone
Sutton
Uxbridge
Sheffield
Kingston
Brampton Hut
Wendy's also serves baked potatoes, including packages of "butter" spread and sour cream.
I miss their broccoli & cheese potatoes. That was my lunch for years. I don't know why it's gone. I miss it.
@@mcm0324it was ordered least out of all baked potato flavors. Also, broccoli was the only item specifically for the baked potatoes (except for chive flakes, which are dirt cheap), while bacon, chili, liquid cheddar cheese and shredded cheddar cheese are served with so many other items, or even ordered separately, that they are much cheaper/can be fudged together with other food costs. Broccoli was a loss leader, so it was dropped, but only after decades.
Dave Thomas chose the square patties because he could fit more hamburgers on the grill at one time, and their motto became we don't cut corners.
And he was by no means the first to come up with the idea. For example, White Castle was making their sliders with square patties and square-ish buns long before the first Wendy’s opened.
@markhamstra1083 That's fair, but White Castle isn't nationwide. There aren't any in Texas. I did eat at White Castle when we went up north. I wasn't that impressed, but their sliders can't compete with Whataburger, which is better than Wendy's 😊 Of course, Whataburger isn't nationwide either. It's a Texas thing. Nothing beats a Whataburger (round patty). I'd take Wendy's over White Castle as well. It's all a matter of taste, and definitely regional taste 😊
@@denicetennill2173 White Castle isn’t about the best burger. It is about its place in history and nostalgia for really the first burger chain. About figuring out how to produce a consistent product quickly, cheaply and at scale. Efficiency is why White Castle burgers are square, and that is the same reason why Wendy’s patties are square.
@@denicetennill2173 Whataburger triple at 3 am is the best 🤤
@markhamstra1083 Again, that's fair. I completely respect your viewpoint. Their place in history is important as the first square patty, albeit a tiny one since it's a slider. White Castle did it first. For me, I can't say nostalgic because we don't have them in Texas. I didn't grow up with them, nor had I ever even heard about them until the Harold and Kumar movie came out. I think they built one in San Antonio, but it just couldn't compete with the burger chains we have in Texas. For you, they sound like they are very nostalgic, and I respect that. I'll say Wendy's then came and perfected the square patty, made it a meal sized burger, and put a quality stamp on it. Whataburger has been around longer than Wendy's, but they were just in deep South Texas (Corpus Christi and down in the valley). Once they expanded, they blew everyone out of the game. Wendy's is the only burger, in my humble opinion, that can rival Whataburger.
Put “chips” ON the burger… just like dippin them in frosty… HEAVEN!!!!
"chips" and actual chips or "crisps" on a burger or sandwich is called redneck lettuce where I come from.
Yes, Wendy's is a franchise and you have to agree to a bunch of different rules and stuff in order to ensure brand quality and consistency, yada yada... but in return you get the brand name, probably supply chain support, business model and plan already laid out for you, etc. It takes money to make money though, so it's not cheap. And has to deal with local regulations.
Fries in milkshake is a very American thing. Fries in a frosty is a classic.
East coast maybe,sounds disgusting.
@garycamara9955 i live in texas. And just because you havent tried it doesnt mean its not a popular american thing that tastes good.
They started making the patties square because they fill the whole grill. The "We don't cut corners." Bit was fun advertising later.
Wendy's uses fresh ingredients, and the truck stop areas actually have breakfast options. Pro tip: If you are working in some sort of restaurant, always place some sort of towel in order to absorb moisture from the lettuce. It stays crispier. Oh, yeah. We have the frosty, which you dip your fries/chips into. BTW, please summon the chocolate option. You won't regret the taste.
In the 80s, when they became really popular, Wendy’s had a salad bar in every restaurant. They also were known for their taco salads that came in an edible tortilla bowl. They still have the best salads among fast food places, and it’s nice that they offer baked potatoes, too. They’re also known for their chili, but the Frosty is unique and really good. Also, you can buy a keychain tag during December every year, that gives you a free junior Frosty with a purchase of anything else, every visit for the following calendar year. Those tags only cost $3US.
I'm from Canada and we have Wendy's and it is amazing here! Wendy's should be international in the next few years! :)
They're based in the US and you have them in Canada....so.....they are international now.
Wendy’s is in 30 countries already. And I assume these videos are filmed in the UK.
So it is probably harder for them to open outside of the US, because one of the marketing campaigns is that their beef is fresh, never frozen, so it would have to be able to be sources in large quantities to be able to run franchises.
Fries dipped in a chocolate Frosty is an absolute MUST. You get piping hot crispy salty fries with the frozen sweet treat. It's the desert you never knew you needed. When you order at Wendy's that's what you have first, before the burger because you want those fries fresh and the frosty unmelted. The burger can wait, it's only okay. The chili is made with the burger patties that are left from the day before because their ground beef is "fresh, never frozen".
Bro Wendys is straight-up the best fast-food chain. They're opening one across the street from me, so yay :) I didn't expect to look forward to fast food opening.
I know Wendy’s is in London.
The burgers are square to save time actually and Wendy’s marketing says they don’t cut corners on flavor.
Having worked in a Wendy's before. They do their bacon in the oven. It isn't nuked the way McDonald's or Burger King do it. It makes for a crispier and better tasting bacon.
They do the same with the baked potato. Yes, you can get a baked potato (plain or loaded) at Wendy's.
The Frosty (I prefer the original, chocolate one) is amazing. I can't do it very often anymore, but it is a wonderful treat.
💯
The bacon was microwaved when I worked there. The Baconator doesn't actually have 6 strips of bacon; when it came out, we had to start cutting the bacon in half before heating it up, so the Baconator actually only has 3 strips of bacon, whereas a Single add Bacon only had 1.5 strips of bacon.
Use to love their baked potatoes.
LOADED BAKED POTATO AND FUCK ME UP WITH THAT CHILI FAM!
Dipping fries into a milkshake was started by Wendy’s and the frosty.
Btw a Frosty is a type of dessert in the US called a “Freeze” or a “Concrete”.
It’s EXTREMELY thick frozen yogurt that’s served at a temperature right between frozen solid and milkshake consistency.
Dave Thomas was a Christian businessman who was adopted as a child. Wendy’s is one of the best burgers around and their frosties are amazing!!!
In the States, fries can be covered with or dipped in: ketchup, gravy, cheese, mayonnaise, Ranch dressing, mustard, salsa, BBQ sauce, milk shakes, or anything else you like.
You forgot chili. Chili cheese fries are my favorite.
STOPPP IM SO HUNGRY 😭
In Utah we also use fry sauce. The base is mayonnaise & ketchup with the option of adding other items if you want a different flavor or texture.
The Baconator is THAT good. Yes. When I get it, I order the triple Baconator. 3 patties of meat👌👌👌
Dave also had the idea …using leftover hamburgers from last night’s business to make chili the next day…breaking up last nights hamburgers…adding all the ingredients for a terrific chili..and if you like …adding some chopped onions and shredded cheese…we get this every couple of weeks as well…great for cold days or stormy weather…just order and drive up and pick up…
In the Fall Wendy's even offered a Pumpkin Pie Frosty. It was really good. 🥧
Right now they have the orange cream Frosty. Yum

The founder of Wendy's is Dave Thomas. He named the store after his daughter, Wendy's. She's still apart of the business as a franchisee in Ohio.
I personally like Wendy's! The burgers are fresh, and never frozen! Their chili is the best fast food chili out there! Their fries rival McDonald's fries!

I have a recipe for a copycat Frosty.
Take your favorite chocolate or strawberry milk( the richer the better) and pour it in an ice tray. Let it freeze totally. Place ice in a blender.Add a can of sweetened condensed milk, Blend then fold in an 8oz tub of Cool Whip( sweet whipped cream topping) Add a little chocolate milk if you need too but not alot because its supposed to be thick.Add a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract(optional) Blend and enjoy.
I worked in a warehouse that shipped to Wendy's. The meat was never frozen and was shipped twice a week. If there were 500 cases there were exactly 2 extra cases. If more than 2 were damaged some orders were short. This was because they insisted on the freshest products.
The patties are made in house not pre-made and shipped. The meat comes in 40 lb cases of solid meat, every other place we shipped to it was frozen pre formed patties. And I have a Wendy's about 3 minutes from me.

It is well known that Dave's grandmother told him to never cut corners and that is why he made the patties square. It was in honor of her.
At Wendy's, for $5 you can get something called a $5 Biggie Bag. In this bag is a (smallish but with lettuce and tomato@) bacon (crisp!) cheeseburger, medium fries, four chicken nuggets with your choice of sauce, a 14 oz drink (google is your friend) including ice and five different kinds of Fanta! My last job, there was a Wendy's right next door. You can't get more convenient than that. Love Wendy's!
Wendy's is its own thing. Its different than Burger King and McD's. I wouldn't want to eat just one all the time. When you do have the huge variety we have in the States you tend to eat around, and don't get burnt out one one place.
Edit: Wendy's has great chili!
I love their chili, but also their baked potatoes and their salads.
You people must not have had much chili in your lifetime if you think theirs is great... 🤮
There are 4 Wendy's within the M25 loop around the greater London area. Then also locations in Brighton, Reading, Oxford, Lincoln and Sheffield.

Wendy's is the only fast food that I eat.
Fries dipped in Frosty is specifically well known in America. I even have memories of my sister taking me to Wendy's as a kid to have fries with frostys together. :P
Dave sold the company …when I don’t know..maybe 1995…but remained as their commercial spokesperson on TV…and people loved him…he was just a natural …talking to the people at home…much like Colonel Harlan P Sanders over at KFC…naturally gifted salesman..
If you didn't know, before he started Wendy's, Dave was hired by KFC and is regarded as saving KFC from failure. He took his big KFC bucks and started Wendy's. Here in Columbus, Ohio, there are a lot of stories of Dave trying to get the local wealthy folks to invest in his burger place. A lot of people said no and are still sour about it to this day.
The burgers are square because of Wendy’s motto: we don’t cut corners. You should see Wendy’s most savage Twitter roasts. So savage and hilarious. Wendy’s has my favorite burgers of chain restaurants. The bacon is always crispy and delicious.

Fries (chips) with the frosty is definitely a miracle. That whole salty sweet thing
Since Fries are an American thing they are fries never chips. Chips are dried buffalo crap, or potatoes from a bag.

It makes the burger look bigger, Dave was a genius. He also invented the three stop drive though concept. order, pay, then get food which made it feel shorter. Same amount of time but keeps you busy while waiting.
Supposedly, Wendy's was to have 45 stores in the UK by the end of 2023.
The reason they are square is for a practical reason. The grill is square, and they thought they could put more patties on the grill at the same time.
Fun Fact: Dave Thomas (the founder) worked for KFC in the 50s and 60s. He actually worked with the Colonel himself.
Yes, apparently Dave practically saved KFC from failure. KFC offered him a great deal and part ownership (I believe), if he stayed with KFC. He declined and started Wendy's. In Columbus, Ohio there are stories of wealthy folks who turned down Dave's attempts at getting more funding. Imagine being one of the folks to turn down a Wendy's investment before it got huge.
I believe the reason Wendy's uses square patties is because it reduces the amount the patty shrinks when cooked or simply just visually looks larger
Dairy Queen Blizzards are the ones that are famous for being turned upside down not the Frostys. Frostys are thinner and I wouldn't chance turning them upside down. Having said that, dipping Wendy's fries in a chocolate frosty is amazing!
Wendy’s, McDonald’s, KFC, Churches Chicken, Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks, Popeyes, Taco Bell, Sonic, Chick-fil-A, and Carls Jr 5 minute ride from my place.
5 minutes here.
The whole fries being dipped in shake actually started with fries and Wendy's Frosties. Dave Thomas loved thick milkshakes so much that he developed one so thick it needed a spoon or fries to eat.
Dipping fries in a Frosty is great
Within a few miles of my house.. I have Whataburger, MacDonalds, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, Burger King, Sonic, 4 coffee shops, three diners (eat in or take out) and one very high end restaurant! 🎉😮😮
Our "issue" is the number of grocery stores. We've got 3 Publix, 4 Kroger, 3 Walmart - within a mile of my house. Glad I learned to cook at home in the early 1990s. Oh, that doesn't count an enormous Farmer's Market for odd veg or the freshest meat. So, yes, some fast food places are near us, but to me it's more fun to try out the different grocery stores for interesting ingredients.
While everyone is correct about “we don’t cut corners,” it’s also much easier if working with fresh ground beef (as they used to do) to smash it all into a baking sheet, flatten with a press, then cut squares.
The burgers are square to fit perfectly on the grill. The burgers are cooked in stages: two lines just put down, 2 lines 1/2 cooked and 2 lines ready to serve. It is a constant rotation so that when you order, your burger is always fresh, hot, and ready, The over-cooked burgers are neither served nor thrown out. They are saved to make chili with.
Worked for a Wendy’s franchise for 27 years, met Dave Thomas twice and his daughter Melinda once. Glad I left in 2014, it was hard on my body.
The UK needs a 5 guys, absolutely delicious.
Within 4 minutes of my house (within about 6 km - minutes away from home), we have Sonic, Taco Bell, KFC, Popeyes, 3 McDonald's, 2 Burger Kings, 2 Wendy's, Chic-Fil-A, Arbys, A&W, 2 Subways, Long John Silvers, Dairy Queen, Five Guys, Jersey Mike's Hoagies, Pizza Hut, Domino's, 6 Dunkin' Dunuts, and 4 Starbucks. Plus, we have so many family owned amazing restaurants.
I know how much you are looking forward to our fast food, because it's 'normal' for us. We drive by on our way home from work and cook dinner. It's cheaper and healthier.
I will get an iced coffee at Dunkin occasionally.
Because I care about my heart and don't want to die early, I couldn't tell you the last time I was in any fast food restaurant, even though I'm surrounded by them. They are also very expensive. Just an iced coffee price went up almost $5.00 in the last five years. It's very, very expensive. We would rather go out to a family owned restaurant (where the food is homemade and you are supporting a family) than a fast food chain.
Off topic, French fries dipped in a milkshake, the best is a Wendy's chocolate Frosty, is great! Occasionally, I will cheat on and run to Wendy's for small fries and a small chocolate Frosty! 🍟 🥛
Wendy's HQ posted that soon they will be opening between 300-400 stores in the UK. At Wendy's you control the condiments, you can have any condiments added or left off.
Not to be a dick but how is that different from other fast food places?
. @rozafrrozafr you are just curios Some fast-food chains will charge your extra or try to up sell you on another combo
“The more rundown the chicken shop is the better the food.”
Sounds like the way BBQ works in the South here. The best BBQ places are holes in the wall that you could easily miss if you don’t know they’re there. Always ask the locals where to get good BBQ
The reason the patties are square is because on a grill. You can get more square patties on a grill than you Can round patties.
Long time ad was once... At Wendys we don't cut corners... that is the reason for the squared meat
They are also rectangular because it makes it easier to ship them as when I worked there over 20 years ago. The box would have two sleeves of stacks of meat patties in each sleeve that is sealed IIRC no air in the sleeve as well.
For a large international fast-food chain, Wendy's has some of the best bacon I have ever had. I will say I miss the Big Bacon Classic.
If you have fresh fries they are great dipped in the frosty. When I worked at Wendy's they only had the chocolate frosty.
Another thing is if you ask for a milkshake on the East Coast of the USA you will have an extremely thin drink in comparison to how we make them in Utah. The Utah milkshake is similar to the Dairy Queen Blizzard.
The first KFC was opened in Utah. Burger King, McDonalds, Wendy's, KFC, & several other fast-food chains in the USA are run by franchisees.
Wendys have so many more items. The salads are excellent, probably the best in terms of fast food restaurants. They have excellent chili. They have baked potatoes, the only fast food restaurant to serve them. They are really good topped with chili and cheese. In the US they have flavored lemonades, they used to have a watermelon flavored one but now I usually get the Pineapple Mango flavor.
The chocolate frosty is the mainstay, they have seasonal flavors such as vanilla, strawberry, peppermint in December, Pumpkin spice in Oct/Nov.
Wendy's is great. Love me the spicy chicken sandwich, but add bacon. The founder was a pretty good guy too.
Edit: What they mean by in-between is that it's essentially an extremely thick shake. You usually need to start with a spoon, but as it warms a little you can start using a straw.
I've had bacon on fast food in London before and it's what . . boiled? Yuck! Here it's fried, so it's all crispy and delicious. You have to try Wendy's. They do it right! But, I only eat there about 4x a year.
