Great review. I too began with contemporary cars and started collecting vintage cars recently. You look for the same quality and detail that I do in cars. Very basic interior, correct for the period. This car is all about the exterior. I believe the jump seat (2nd row seat) folds forward as well? At 7:42 it appears as though the backrest folds forward and then the entire seat folds forward? Also disappointing to see no detail in rear luggage compartment, perhaps some modification and addition of carpet would be required? I am contemplating purchasing this vehicle after seeing it for many years. Thanks for the review, very detailed. Edit: rear luggage compartment appears different in other Packard One Eighty models.
I had purchased this Packard many years ago by Signature . They made 2 . one on the longer whlbase and the shorter version was more balanced in its appearance and came with a Goddess of Speed mascot on the hood which added much to the appearance !! I generally have a problem with Greenlight . They take the tooling of other manuf. and leave out the candy ie. Wood trim, carpet ,design fea6tures in trunk, and so much more of desirable quality features.....Greenlight, not my choice!!
This mold was originally made by signature models, greenlight leased the mold, I do have the original issue and it’s better detailed than this one, the trunk it’s finished and carpeted and the dashboard and seats are better finished.
Michael you're absolutely right ! I hope Marek reads this because he should know that "Signature did wonderful versions of many 40's Luxury and Limo's (Cadillac , Lincoln , Packard and others) in which they devoted much attention and effort to giving the buyer lots for their money.......You can still buy them on the Secondary market for great prices , but like all good things they are getting more rare by the day !!
The tyres are called ‘white wall tyres’
