While on vacation in Ireland two years ago my husband bought me the most beautiful cape and as soon as the slightest chill is in the air I bring it out and wear that cape everywhere. I constantly get compliments and thank him all the time for his wonderful gift to me.
I have a beautiful red handbag that makes a fun splash to my neutral outfits. I also love adding leather to my looks. Quarantine won’t last forever-hang in there everyone. ❤️
I've always had a red in some way shape or form in my wardrobe throughout my years and I'm now 70 and it's still in my closet. Pre-Covid I had just purchased new clothes for traveling and now I can't WAIT for this to end so I can get out there and show off my style. Great ideas as always, keep up the good work and thanks for the great advice.
I hope this wish comes true! I live in suburbia and people look like they've rolled out of bed, put on flip flops and came to buy groceries! It makes me think they didn't even bathe or brush their teeth that day.
Red...YES PLEASE! I bought a red velvet blazer last year. It is beautiful. I love all these trends. I think following through with one or two of them will put us ahead.
Love to see your videos. They make me think about the clothes I do have and put more thought into what I purchase. I just turned 50 and you are so helpful w finding looks that are on trend but in a classic way! Thank you! Fringe will not be happening for me but bring on the red!
We’ve had such a long stretch of really hot humid weather, and, dare I say, I am looking forward to falls cooler weather. These are gorgeous! Not sure about the knit vests though.... Thanks Gemma!
I am at ripe age of 50 where I see the trends and wish I still had my original items from when the style first went around. (Looking at you leather blazer, shorts, skirts and pants!) Keep up the inspiring style videos. I do look forward to them! PS. Love the Wallace and Gromit insert for a visual. :)
Forget Marie Kondo. If you have the space, keep everything because they will eventually come back in style. I'm 72 and am pulling out clothes I wore 20 or 30 years ago.
Thank you so much for you're fashion inspirations. It's so nice to have practical ideas of how to incorporate those latest trends that designers are putting out each season. I'm so lucky to have collected such a wide assortment of pieces I simply love, and keep them all regardless of whether or not they happen to be pieces that are being featured on the runways. Fashion is such fun, for me. I look forward to pulling out and using my coats. Some of which haven't been put to use in ages.
There are some very nice styles for Fall this year and I love the way you showcase the fashions! You gave me some good ideas to try with items I already own, so thank you, Gemma! I truly appreciate the work and thought you put into your videos... always stylish and always classy!
I have a long red wool fully lined cape that has got to be a good twenty years old. Maybe I should reintroduce it to the sunshine. Thank you for tge update. I really enjoy all your videos.
Lovely video, I feel the exact same way about getting to dress up and being tired of lounge wear. Though I think it’s here to stay and it fits some people’s daily life better. But I find the most joy out of putting in effort.
We used to call them tank tops, though I know that Americans call them sweater vests. And waistcoats are vests there, and vests are undershirts... anyway, before I get too confused - I have a short red trench coat, though I don’t have the figure for a belt over the top. I have a grey check skirt and grey jacket that make a great suit. This was really helpful! Now we just need the weather for them!
I'm so glad that knitted vests are coming back! I have a black one from years ago that I wear over blouses to provide some warmth and style. I haven't been able to find another one to add to my collection for years, so happy that I will have some choices soon.
I found a red leather jacket this summer at a yard sale, that will take care of two of the trends, leather and red. I also found a gray sweater vest, that I love. I also saw where mixing prints will be even bigger trend, and I love mixing prints. Thanks for the video, very informative, great job.
I have always loved red, it’s a flattering color, but have steered away from it in the last few years...saving it mainly for holiday time- but now I feel more inspired to wear more of it...love your red jacket- that is something I would love to wear! I am also sick of leisure wear, and where I live, in a town near NYC, I have lately, even before being “locked down” , I see very few if anybody wearing anything resembling a stylish outfit- it’s really too bad, but shorts, tank tops, yoga pants etc. are the most often seen look these days! ☺️💕
Love the color theme. So chic 👍 I started wearing normal clothes at home instead of lounge wear. ESP now in 2020, my clothes were so sad for not being worn for 7 months. Now I rotate everything and try to dress better even though I’m home
I was glad to see the belts over the blazers, the smaller chain link belts(I have two that are probably vintage 😊), the knit vests, skirt suits, the collars under the dresses, leather blazer, and the plaids. I think these items are doable even casually. Even though I work from home, I still "dress" sometimes (without overkill) to try things out and when out for groceries, etc. Thanks for the preview! Keep up the good work.
Omg 😍🤩 I just got the notification and rushed right here to watch your new video 😍 with the entire Covid19 situation I look forward to watching your videos. How are you so stylish 😭 I’m super jealous. Thank you for all the advice and for giving me something to smile about during this quarantine ❤️❤️❤️ you’re just awesome
What to Wear - Fashion Over 40 - no, thank you honestly. Your videos give me a few mins to just decompress and not worry or cry... you always make me smile and I’m always in awe of how fashionable you are... you’re also around my mums age and you have kind of a maternal effect on me, no matter how sad I am your videos always make me smile. ❤️
Just discovered your channel. Lovely video, easy to watch and listen to, thank you. Glad to know I have some timeless pieces that fit into some of the trend categories you mention and will see me through the autumn and winter! xx
Terrific trend summary. I’ll try them all, except maybe the fringe. I’ve been purging the bohemian items in my wardrobe lately, and going for a more classic style, so it would feel like moving backwards now. I’ve been looking for a skirt suit, but haven’t found any yet, except for super-short, tight mini skirt co-ords, I love the look. You didn’t mention my favorite designer, Celine (for inspiration, not purchasing!), who also showed a lot of beautiful skirt suits. You’re a brilliant stylist💕
You look absolutely amazing in that red coat - it really is your color! I can not wear it around my face, however, I do love a red bag, or shoes and long gloves! These are beautiful designs - but I love fall and winter the best! Thx, Gemma!
Red is definitely one of my power colors, so I'll be wearing it. I love plaid and just bought 3 items with red in it . I can easily add a belt to my outfits. This is an easy fashion to follow.
Great video. I'm so happy re knitted tank tops are coming back in fashion as I'd been looking for one to over brightly coloured blouses that have statement sleeves in March/April without success. Although I don't have any regrets buying the brightly coloured blouses because black is my favourite colour I felt out of my comfort zone and wanted a knitted tank to cover the body so just the pleated sleeves would be on show. I also love the leather outfits especially the black leather blazer.
I am so happy to have found your channel and must say the clothes trend this autumn is right up my alley possibly because it really is an 80's revival ?!
I wear lots of red mostly as accent pieces with camel, brown and black but I do like the head to toe red look for certain occasions and times of year, Christmas of course.
I love capes , not a big fan of sweater vests , but my 32 year old fashion loving son has been finding vintage ones on eBay ,lol. I like the idea of a red bag if you don’t wear much red.
Luv the looks for fall.. I like the plaid skirts and tops I found an amazing plaid dress at H&M on sale I this past spring. I will be searching for faux leather skirt or shirt. I already have a quite a few of the fall trends so I’m glad a lot of my fall wardrobe is still in style for this year! Awesome content as always 👏🏽🙂🙂
Definitely be wearing belt over jackets chain necklaces bracelets Vests are very versatile and I loved the checks lots of inspiration here I love leather jackets coats etc so plenty to slot into my existing wardrobe ... it will be a treat to dress up. Got a wedding to attend in November !! another great video nicola
I am happy to see that I TOO have many things I wont need to buy. I am retired and looking forward to the Christmas season when we hope all this is over. I dont see anything I really need to buy but new ways.to wear what I have. I have inadvertently dropped 15 lbs during lockdown so my smallest clothes look great on me....I just did a closet clean out and found things that I will store in cass I regain the weight. I generally save my nicest things one size up and down but everything else I get rid of.
I appreciated your video very much, for it really simplifies trends that are suitable for me, and I was quite happy to realize that I can incorporate almost all of them (apart from the large / bold or white collar) with elements that I already own 😊 I can imagine very well how to look both chic and trendy without buying anything... Thanks to you! 👍🤗
2020 has shown us flames, got ready for autumn/winter, and we are about to get into spring in September, and by the looks of it, still working from home. I bought a faux leather shirt, have a red jacket and some belts, I guess I am ready for Autumn/Winter 2021.
Always yes to fringe! I have a brand new fringe dress and decent autumn colored Poncho with fringe at the bottom ready to go for the upcoming season. Personally, I am not a fan of all cherry red but prefer burgundy/maroon I love, along with deep purples and plums. Right now is a great time to shop/buy, been going shopping with a friend of mine. Lots of retail shopping businesses going "out of business"! Such as Steinmart I got these lovely sandals 10%-40% off. Also New York and Company 70%-90% off before all branches officially close I bought this absolutely beautiful colorful vibrant dress yesterday and new shades. My friend and I are going back again soon to get more before they officially shut down! But couldn't agree more. I enjoy the belted look as well. I'm not really so much into trends but add my own unique style/twist to the things I own within my wardrobe! Great video!
I will definatly be interested in looking for the false collars that’s a much more sustainable way to update existing clothing. I bought a red trench coat last year so that’s going to be perfect for Autumn this year x
Great vid, Gemma. I've learned to keep all my classics as they come back into style! I have a white rabbit Peter Pan collar from childhood that will be worn this fall/winter! Who would have thought?! Thanks for inspiring me.
Well, I'm very happy about the color red. I think I can manage a fringed scarf. And, yay, I have a black leather pencil skirt. Not too big on large collars or knit vests. I'm a maybe on plaid,. Overall, I think I can follow some of fall's trends. Thank you for a great video, Gemma! They always make me happy when I see a new video of yours pop up in my TH-cam feed.
I have many of these pieces in my wardrobe already but it seems like I will be all dressed up with nowhere to go! I love watching your videos as I learn so much. Maybe I will be creative and have a Zoom party just so I can get out of my joggers!
I have a red top I'll wear and I might do a belt over a blazer. I may buy a cape, if I go anywhere there's cold enough weather (I'm in central FL). Thanks for sharing.
A nice vest can be as stylish as a blazer or coat, especially when paired with a large folded square scarf over the shoulders.Fringed and you’ve another trend on trend.
Loved the video, I think you’ve got it spot on. For me it’s all about the faux leather and knitwear. H&M have got some stunning pieces in at the moment, can’t wait to get my camel coat out! Xxx
I have this classic cut, fire engine red dress a friend gave me years ago that I'm yet to wear! I may give it a shot this winter, if I'm brave enough!🐃
I honestly have no place to wear this clothing anymore. I took early retirement from my job. And now with Covid I always wear more comfortable clothing to go to my only outing the market. I’ve always dress very classy and it seems this year things are more simple and not so much fuss about fashion. Nice tips if you have some where to wear it. Nice video👍
Except for the fringe I already own all of the these “trends.” Since California is still in lockdown, (‘til who knows when) I’ll be wearing my “trendy” clothes around the house, garden, park, and grocery store.😢
Fellow Caifornian here too. Yup, I may never leave the house but I have great new things and never worn things from the last 6 months to look amazing while supervising home schooling. xoxo
. I like the tailored look. I love this fashion trend, It reminds of a lady that is assure of herself and sophisticated. She can take charge of her life.
I'm thrilled to hear red is back! I have a red trench coat, red and black houndstooth blazer , red patent loafers, red suede pencil skirt. and a stunning red Smythe duchess blazer. I just wont wear them all together or I'll look like Santa Clause.
I love how you incorporate Queen Letizia. Her style is always impeccable
Yesss! ❤️🙌🏼
Love red! Had just purchased red luggage before this year. Can't wait to use it!!
I wish more people cared about what they wore and how it fit.
It kills me during so many clothing hauls on YT, the clothes are so ill-fitting and they crow "It fits perfectly!" :(
I hope this wish comes true! I live in suburbia and people look like they've rolled out of bed, put on flip flops and came to buy groceries! It makes me think they didn't even bathe or brush their teeth that day.
It’s become awful. People think it’s ok to live in leggings and PJs.
Beautiful! I am so done with seeing everyone in sweats!
It will last for quite a while longer
Seriously people don’t care how they look anymore its very sad
Me too! No excuses! I have been there! Itdoesn’t matter your income. With all the consignment shops, everyone can look suave!
I'm 26, but I love that you show classy elegant outfits. Definitely wearable for my age! Thanks for the vids! ❤️
Red...YES PLEASE! I bought a red velvet blazer last year. It is beautiful. I love all these trends. I think following through with one or two of them will put us ahead.
Big fan of plaid. Now I’m excited for Fall clothes!
Love to see your videos. They make me think about the clothes I do have and put more thought into what I purchase. I just turned 50 and you are so helpful w finding looks that are on trend but in a classic way! Thank you! Fringe will not be happening for me but bring on the red!
Me neither with the fringe except maybe on a scarf but that’ll be all 😄
We’ve had such a long stretch of really hot humid weather, and, dare I say, I am looking forward to falls cooler weather. These are gorgeous! Not sure about the knit vests though.... Thanks Gemma!
I’m ready for a change in temperatures now too, although as soon as it gets cooler I’ll be longer for the sun again 😄🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
What to Wear - Fashion Over 40 ....I know exactly what you mean!
I am at ripe age of 50 where I see the trends and wish I still had my original items from when the style first went around. (Looking at you leather blazer, shorts, skirts and pants!) You continually deliver such high quality and useful videos. No filler!
I love how you give practical ways of doing small things to utilize what we already have, or ways to be in style with small adjustments. thank you!
That sounds amazing!
i wear my Calvin Klein camel cape EVERY year. capes are so luxe...love them!💖
Lovely video, I feel the exact same way about getting to dress up and being tired of lounge wear. Though I think it’s here to stay and it fits some people’s daily life better. But I find the most joy out of putting in effort.
I have bought mix & match clothing for years in both summer & winter clothing & a big wardrobe of scarves that change any look.
I've kept a few of my dad's vests for sentimental reasons, now I think I will wear them!
I'm so glad that knitted vests are coming back! I have a black one from years ago that I wear over blouses to provide some warmth and style. I haven't been able to find another one to add to my collection for years, so happy that I will have some choices soon.
Thank you! Will look through my closet now & evaluate what I’ve been ignoring & ready them to wear this fall🙏🏽❤️
I found a red leather jacket this summer at a yard sale, that will take care of two of the trends, leather and red. I also found a gray sweater vest, that I love. I also saw where mixing prints will be even bigger trend, and I love mixing prints. Thanks for the video, very informative, great job.
Now we need a place to wear these clothes.😊
Soon, I hope!
We go out.....dress anyway...
Right😭
I’m going to look hot at the rare grocery store appearance and I’ll be turning heads at the gas station 😄
I dressed up for my trip to the fruits and vegetables aisle at the grocery store, heels and accessories where a hit! 💃💃😁
I have always loved red, it’s a flattering color, but have steered away from it in the last few years...saving it mainly for holiday time- but now I feel more inspired to wear more of it...love your red jacket- that is something I would love to wear! Beautiful! And so refreshing no masks on the models.
Love the color theme. So chic 👍 I started wearing normal clothes at home instead of lounge wear. ESP now in 2020, my clothes were so sad for not being worn for 7 months. Now I rotate everything and try to dress better even though I’m home
What a great video! I love how you advise to look in your wardrobe for various items. Love, love, love!
Thank you so much

Thanks for the preview! Keep up the good work.
You’ve got a great eye for fashion ! All the trends are spot on. Now I have my list: what to look for for the new season .
Another terrific video. I am so impressed with every video but this one is over-the-top fantastic with new trends that look so beautiful.
Omg 😍🤩 I just got the notification and rushed right here to watch your new video 😍 with the entire Covid19 situation I look forward to watching your videos. This was so helpful. And I have already started moving my summer things to the back of my closet for my fall/winter wear.
I have started wearing my Fall clothes as the weather here in SF is crazy. Last week it was roasting and today it is 60.
Red is definitely one of my power colors, so I'll be wearing it. I love plaid and just bought 3 items with red in it . I can easily add a belt to my outfits. This is an easy fashion to follow.
My kate spade bag is red😍
Great video.

Yes. I have red blazers and I love the big chains.
Afternoon Gemma .. loved this, no chains for me, or fringes, but everything else ok. Love a vest top x
Hi Lindsay, glad you enjoyed it. Hope you and Willy are ok x
@@Gemmawhattowear We're gone thanks. He's gone for a late walk, due to being a Hot Willy today 😁😁 xx
That should say fine 😂😂😂
I’m hauling out my red tartan shawl, black blazer-sewing on new Celtic buttons, and my navy skirt suit. Thank you!
I am so happy to have found your channel and must say the clothes trend this autumn is right up my alley possibly because it really is an 80's revival ?!
The vest and more colorful plaid. I can mix and match the blazer and midi skirts with what I have.
I wear lots of red mostly as accent pieces with camel, brown and black but I do like the head to toe red look for certain occasions and times of year, Christmas of course.

This is the BEST & MOST INFORMATIVE video you've ever done !! Loved it.
I love red, so autumn here I come.

This is a great overlook so one can determine what to wear
Specially the variation with small special collars i really liked.
Definitely be wearing belt over jackets chain necklaces bracelets
Vests are very versatile and I loved the checks lots of inspiration here
I love leather jackets coats etc so plenty to slot into my existing wardrobe ... it will be a treat to dress up.
Got a wedding to attend in November !! another great video nicola
It really will be so nice to dress up again

Love autumn fashion, this has given me the best ideas for what to wear next season ! Love your videos ! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Nina, glad it has given you some outfit ideas ♥️
Yes, I have several items to pair together!!! Love red plaid...and I also love wearing knee high or ankle boots!
♥️ knee high boots
Thank you. I know that you can keep me updated on wearable trends. I have many of the things you mentioned.
I've got a few red pieces. Red blouse, red bag, red short boots two red dresses. I love the leather skirt and belts or jackets. Thanks for the video.
Many gorgeous tips!!! The belt is a very easy one, I am definitely going to try that! But also all your other tips. Thank you!!!
You always are so on point with the looks, am looking forward to shopping my closet.
I appreciated your video very much, for it really simplifies trends that are suitable for me, and I was quite happy to realize that I can incorporate almost all of them (apart from the large / bold or white collar) with elements that I already own 😊 I can imagine very well how to look both chic and trendy without buying anything... Thanks for this video. I think most of these trends are really beautiful 🤗 I can't wait for fall.
I will definatly be interested in looking for the false collars that’s a much more sustainable way to update existing clothing. I bought a red trench coat last year so that’s going to be perfect for Autumn this year x
I’m investing in sweaters and vests still keeping it casual as I’m not going anywhere Coronavirus is still going strong!
Love red thanks for video 🦋
The belted blazer! I could do that as soon as tomorrow. Thank you for the update😊
Oh yes, I've seen loads of reds. I also am seeing a ton of leopard print, especially on midi skirts
Thanks for doing the analytics for us ! I can never make sense of the runway fashions ! 👏🏻
Great vid, Gemma. I've learned to keep all my classics as they come back into style! I have a white rabbit Peter Pan collar from childhood that will be worn this fall/winter! Who would have thought?! Thanks for inspiring me.
Love red I am a fire sign!!!! Thanks always great style and information !!! Look forward to your visions!
Great video. Thanks for putting it together so succinctly.
Thanks Judith 😊
You are so talented! My favorite channel.
Thank you Kerry
Well, I'm very happy about the color red. I think I can manage a fringed scarf. And, yay, I have a black leather pencil skirt. Not too big on large collars or knit vests. I'm a maybe on plaid,. Overall, I think I can follow some of fall's trends. Thank you for a great video, Gemma! They always make me happy when I see a new video of yours pop up in my TH-cam feed.
Thanks Andie, it means a lot to me that you look forward to my videos 🌸
I’ve always liked leather. I have a few tops that I’ve purchased lately. Can’t wait to try. Have two red tops as well. Like the ideas you give
I will be including leather in my wardrobe for sure it's my fav.
A nice vest can be as stylish as a blazer or coat, especially when paired with a large folded square scarf over the shoulders.Fringed and you’ve another trend on trend.
I’m willing to try leather vest or pants in the first weeks of autumn. Black with cream top , maybe.
I love this video mixing and matching
Loved the video, I think you’ve got it spot on. For me it’s all about the faux leather and knitwear. H&M have got some stunning pieces in at the moment, can’t wait to get my camel coat out! Xxx
Great video! I love them all!
I prefer to stay away from chunky chains but the chain on that black dress looked neat and appealing✨
Wow I'm in trouble- not too thrilled about any of them😁 Great video as always!
I love the idea of the faux leather skirt I have been eyeing one on ThredUP.
Nice video👍
Love red! Love a knitted vest! I would love to wear a belt over a jacket but my shape is quite rectangular so I’m not sure it would suit me.
Except for the fringe I already own all of the these “trends.” Since California is still in lockdown, (‘til who knows when) I’ll be wearing my “trendy” clothes around the house, garden, park, and grocery store.😢
Fellow Caifornian here too. Yup, I may never leave the house but I have great new things and never worn things from the last 6 months to look amazing while supervising home schooling. xoxo
Hello fellow California (Hollywood) and I know what you mean, we came out of lockdown and people dropped their guard.
Loved this! Life almost feels normal looking forward to getting out of loungewear.
Absolutely Linda, keeping fingers crossed
Love these. I love the belted blazer look but I am short waisted. I will search online for how to create the illusion of longer and thinner.
I'm thinking about my dad's knit vest that I want to steal 🤔
I like the bags with fringes
Nice inspiring style tips! I shall be adopting some of these for sure...(please call the season Autumn though - fall is American!)
I love a knitted vest - not old man at all, imo.
Harry Styles seems to agree!

You've got next season sorted for sure 💕
