Used to love to throw a bunch of black berries in a pot and cook em for just a bit. Stir in some butter and pour the soupy mess over a big fat homegrown biscuit... mmmm mmmmm.
Can't eat that sorta stuff anymore but the memories are still good.

If you are just making syrup you can skip the pectin. I do a lot of simple syrups with herbs and sometimes fruit. Just prep your fruit or herb, measure how much you have, bring to a boil, add in an equal amount of sugar, bring back to a boil and stir until all sugar is dissolved. Put in jars. Since I don't have any cool storage I do tend to water bath them for about 10 -15 min to ensure a good seal and safety. Locally in late winter and early spring I can get a lot of lemons and limes and a lot of times I'll juice and make syrup like this. Dilute with 3-4 times as much water and you have lemon or limeade that is even better than frozen concentrate. Mint syrup is a delicious addition to ice tea.

Goat butter?!? That's a thing?! I NEED to know how you separate the cream to make the butter....please!?? Oh. My. YUM!! Are you milking your girls at the new homestead? If so, I really would love to see how you make your butter.

Are you milking any goats right now? Curious how that is going at the new place and what your setup is like. 😊

Unfortunately no. The move was too stressful for them. I do have a doe still nursing kids so I'm hoping to be able to milk her when she is done
