I admire anybody who takes back to control in their life when they feel like control is been taken out. By thinking carefully about what she and her family need she’s able to have her own house. Most people just want toomuch when they don’t even need it.

Glad I bought this one th-cam.com/users/postUgkxT9ExVpR-3A-9rpRqx8vzXKZ3BMMTg_KH . I had a customer looking for a shed that didn't look 'prefab' and was rustic, but "cute" (her term). I showed her the cover of the book and, with a few modifications, she was sold. I've never built a shed but I do have some framing knowledge. The info on roofing is very helpful to me. I was also psyched that the section for the shed on the cover had measured drawings for the trim boards and keystone pieces for the gable ends and over the windows. Should make life a little easier for me.
Connecting the bedrooms with a walkway was a really good idea.

Exactly, most of us people know what we have to do to survive, as a single mom of 3 ( all grown now) if I could have done this raising them in the 70's & 80's I would have, everyone is ok now so i'm blessed to have g-kids and great-g-son but boy would I LOVE to just do this!

The Willow Tree is one of the best, if not THE best tiny house I have ever seen.
This is pretty much my dream. To have and/or build and live in a tiny house, off the grid, AND have at least one dog and one cat.

The only downfall I see and don't get me wrong I love this thing is you can't stand up in the loft and there would actually be room for that if the ceiling was lowered a little 🤷

This is so lovely on every level. I want to build tiny homes for a living, currently we build screen enclosures and aluminum structures but after seeing so many struggle in the aftermath of hurricanes like Katrina and Matthew etc , I decided we needed to do this. Everyone deserves adequate, affordable & safe housing. These videos that show single moms, elderly and those on a fixed incomes having their own homes and not starving just to pay a mortgage or rent, is a dream come true. I can’t wait to be in a position to help.

That's adorable. Only thing for me is it would bother me not being able to stand in my upstairs and having to crawl everywhere.
I'd ask for a higher ceiling or at least vaulted.
U wouldn't even be able to sit properly if ur tall ur head will bump
A tiny house can only be so tall if you want to every legally move it, that's the constraint...
I could not kneel and crawl because my knees would hurt.
I would feel safer if the propane tank were installed outdoor. In her case, that closet where the tank is, should have the door facing outside of the tiny house while wall-sealed on the inside. I would leave enough vent room above and below the outside door so when there’s a gas leak through the connectors or valve, the gas can escape out. And yes, a couple of wood planks can be installed above the tank for more storage as long as they’re not flammable liquids or like kerosene or combustibles like clothing.
leapdrive I too was surprised to hear her say that she stored the tanks in the utility closet . Because generally those are kept either outside or in a storage compartment that opens to the outside only.
I tell you I've watched hundreds of tiny home videos in the last 12 years this is absolutely one of my favorites ❤ great job designing young lady thought have you ever considered a job in designing you really should this shows the care to detail that a tiny home has to have really thought out this one is. Way cute! I can’t stand how small most of the bathrooms and kitchens are in these tiny houses. Making them a priority of space is awesome.

This house makes sense! Bathrooms in tiny homes are always so small! How can one get dressed in a loft? The kitchen on the OPPOSITE end! Yes! Do NOT want the bathroom at the end of a kitchen! Especially in a tiny house! Great job.

I've seen walkways in other tiny homes, but this place is laid out better then most. She concentrated on what works best for her and her Daughter, and in so doing, it turned out highly usable for them. I love that she planned out the kitchen, living room, and bathroom so much. She should be very proud of her results.
Agreed, this is probably one of the few walkways I have seen that wasn't really cramped or lazily added in. This one works real well in the design.

One of the best small house , you make me want to surrender my apartment for a great lay out like yours. You took time to think about space . I’m claustrophobic but this space was very well planned out , good for you and your daughter hope you enjoy your stay . Don’t forget the garden!!!!!

I am still shaking my head, "how did she do that?!?!" Awesome awesome tiny house...love the the tiny house movement...your home is absolutely the bomb...wish I had the guts to do it...one would sure have to get rid of a lot of stuff...great way to cleanse one's self of unnecessary "stuff!"

This is the most functional and well-designed tiny house I’ve seen yet! Kudos to you, kiddo. I lived 60 years of my 84 years in Minnesota, and was delighted to see the sources of heat that assures you comfort during those cruel winter temperatures.
It's a fire trap for her daughter of something catches by the stove pipe by those cubes. Hope they have fire drilled alternative escape routes.

I really liked the design of your tiny home. I liked the idea of the loft and crawl space but I’d like the ceiling a bit higher. All in all, it’s very liveable. Well done.

I don't think I've ever crawled around in a loaf, but seriously, the child, the cats and dog are all low altitude creatures. Mom has incentive dealing with the loft situation what little she does. This is a prime example of empowerment. There was a bit of planning for everyone's comfort and ease of habitation and I also find this BRILLIANT! Good job Mom!

Two girls and a Tiny are you a designer by profession? You did such a great job, how do you know where to start with this? How to make it custom to fit your needs? Do you have to hire someone to make blueprints ?
Bright Night I have no design background at all but just spent time researching and just thinking about my life and what I value in my living space. I do work for Midwest Tiny Living and help other people design their homes :) we have a design team that turns peoples ideas into official blue prints!

@@annmarie4794 I love design of house. It’s obviously designed for girls needs and fullfills her brief to builder. Ceiling amazing and I love kitchen looks practical. You can design tiny houses with ground floor living and just use upstairs for extra storage/office space. The answer is a well made although not cheap Murphy bed or you can have a gadget that lowers bed down from ceiling area mechanically. Basically tiny living at its best it about brilliant architectural design that suits individuals who have commissioned build. 😊

One of the greatest things about living in a tiny house is that it forces you to get rid of all the stuff you don't need. Which is most of your stuff.

@pianoplaylist I agree. While I don't have anything against tiny houses. I don't see the problem with having tons of stuff. My stuff never bothered me. I feel it's been projected and repeatedly said on similar other videos that owning bunch of stuff is actually like that stuff owning you! I don't understand how exactly! Unless one wishes to travel their entire life, I don't see how owning stuff is a problem.
Nobody said it is wrong. It is a choice and nice to see how someone manages their life making this particular choice.

I'm a senior too and I wonder why there appears to be no handrail on the steep stairs! Makes my knees ache just watching that. Also, it's a beautiful setting but how much does it cost to be where she is? Did she buy the land? Is she paying rent? In many areas, you can't just plop a tiny house just any old place ...

One of the best tiny houses I’ve ever seen most are cramped but this one has a lot of room the kitchen is my favourite part it’s got so much room for food and people that pull out pantry is awesome!!

One video.showed a tiny house, but it was larger than most and beautifully designed with octagon windows and special display cabinets and drawers for her collection.

I have enjoyed, how we can live with less and be comfortable and energy efficient as well as living at reduced cost .
Although the tiny houses are amazing,they are not cheap to build, but the long term cost seems to be worth the upfront costs.
I also like the transformation of garages and sheds into guest homes.
So inspiring and awareness to how we can utilize space and be comfortable.

What are you, 12? If you watched the video you would have seen that the dog likes to sleep upstairs with the daughter. The getting sick in 5 years comment is sheer stupidity.
JJ - Yes, that jumped out at me too, as did the sharp corners on all the steps. I would strongly recomend rounded corners and/or rubber bumpers, and some sort of netting that angles upwards along the run of the stairs.

The ceiling is gorgeous. Never thought about using more than one color...I will now! Beautiful.
Very nice! I love the catwalk (dogwalk?) and the fact that the lofts have skylights and windows on all sides. Even i wouldn't feel claustrophobic despite the low ceiling height there. And Eliot has a light above her bed for reading - very important. :)
This was by far the best Tiny House tour I have ever seen. It was professional, precise, very explanatory, & very well shot. I couldn't believe the size of your kitchen & ur bathroom. They were amazing. I was more in awe of the fact that you designed the whole thing. You used the space so smartly. The design over the wheel well for the shoes was magic. My favorite part was the floor space for both sleep lofts. All that extra floor area. That was genius. I love your home I think I could live in one of those, if you designed it. I do want to know where your TV was? Typically there is a TV in the living area, but I didn't see one. I just saw a place to sit. Then I didn't see one in your bed areas. So where were your TV's? Again I love your house.

For some reason, I got impression of the loft space being well...more spacious than most. Also love outside the box thinking of TH owners, like how she has hooks for hammock and trapeze. Skylights are perfect for that setup too.
