Climbing Mount Conness from the North Ridge

Mount Conness sits on the north eastern edge of Yosemite National Park. The north ridge provides a very beautiful and very exposed line to the summit. Once on the ridge the climb progresses from Class 2 up to Class 5.6 climbing. The views from the ridge are amazing.

Is this considered mountaineering or rock climbing I’m interested in trying stuff like this?

There is a bit of class 2 and 3 sections on the hike out. Also it is a different route on the way down. It is good if you have someone who knows the way down
