    Can you tell me if these guys are as reliant on humidity and burrowing as ackies? My concern is stuck sheds and loss of toes/tail if I make a mistake.

      I’d say more resilient than ackies with less humidity but I do try and offer them a spray down a couple times a week.

    Thanks so much for this video. I got a male aged 5. He wasn't in the best condition when I first got him 2 years ago. There is little information about them, and I'm glad to see that I was keeping him the right way. He's a healthy and confident monitor these days. Thinking about introducing a female soon!

    Currently in contact with a guy who has a 4 month old male, I’m in Canada and there are believed to be only 15 or so in the country right now. Pretty damn excited to pick this guy up!

    How old were they when they first started to breed?

    How much do you feed them a day?

      RCHerps they don’t get fed daily, more like 3/4 times a week during the warmer months. They get a handful of crickets/woodies or a few super worms or a pink mouse or two or hardboiled egg. These tend to be the main feeds but a lot of it is made up of crickets and woodies.

    Gorgeous little lizards and keep on going, you will figure it all out eventually. There are always ups and downs and what a wonderful surprise to see all those babies . l would probably continue to do that just leave the eggs where they are. l am thinking about getting an Ackie monitor l think they are gorgeous, so l might look at getting one from you if l can. l wish to do target training with them myself to see how they do.

    Hi, what are the gillenis doing now? have you more and or better experience for breeding and incubation?
    and how early can you see the sexes of the juveniles? how do you see the differences?

      They are going good. This year I have the most eggs I’ve had to date yet. Time will tell with incubation this season. I like to give them 6 months to develop and usually go off head shape personally.

      very cool! I wish you every success with the incubation! it would be very interesting to see a video of you how exactly you incubated, what temperatures, etc... and above all, in detail, how you can see the difference between females and males in the juveniles by the shape of their heads!

    Thinking about getting a trio of these guys if you don’t mind me asking about how many clutches do you get a year from them ?

      Tray VT if I’m lucky I get one big clutch. I haven’t had her double clutch yet. Some years she skips breeding as well to keep putting size on. It takes a lot out of these small goannas.

      No no , it’s alright I’m just asking around as mine is really tame and I’ve heard at expos that they are “bad tempered “ but I don’t know if mines a one off or the whole thing is a myth

      Wild Life In My Room I think something in the realm of 90/45/60cm should be okay but the more room the merrier.

      @@iantru9929 my rooms ambient temperature drops naturally during winter. The room isn’t controlled. Sometimes I’ll open the rooms window over night to let ambient heat out during the cooler months.

      @@BeachesScalyBeasts so what does it mean for my gillian, i keep my room temperature 80 year round. granted i only had him a week he seem healthy and strong but he just hide in his home all day. i do put the basking light right on top of his hide out so he probably doesnt feel the need to ever move. what do u think?

      @@iantru9929 they are naturally shy and will hide away until they are settled and comfortable.
      If they don’t have an ambient drop during the winter then it may not brumate.
