I tough baloon is like firework or confetti in kh BBS , that one of the useless command , i didnt event know that baloon can up lv to baloonga .. Dang it , i should spmming it all the way till the end game , i mean that intresting to finish the game with a boring way right .. 😂😂
You don't really need to use Balloon spells btw, not using them isn't handicaping yourself, since there are other good commands such as Dark Splicer/Aura, Dark Firaga, Firaga Burst, Ars Arcanum...
If you can beat the game with your eyes closed while controlling the pad with your toes, go for it, but stop shitting on others because they CAN'T do it.
silly youtube commenter, kingdom hearts stopped being a game sometime in 2012, that shit's a way of life now, and if you can't do the hard challenges, then you're just not a real key blade master and the heartless are going to win and it's all your fault, simply because you can't beat the shit out of God while being a schizophrenic baby in a wheel chair during the peak of an acid trip
Happy to help out partner! I also forgot to mention that you simply cannot say the words, "Dream Drop Distance" without somebody mentioning balloon! Anyways glad to see you finally starting KH countdowns!! looking forward to more in the future! :)
My favorite tactic was setting up my deck so that the leftovers after Lethal Frame spam let me spam another sleight (I think I went with sonic rave). I usually went for hp instead of cp so getting more out of my deck before pulling out the potions was nice.
There is a little more to it than just Fenrir. You have to take off all combo plus abilities, stack your combo finish, and get Negative Combo. Also helps to take off High Jump. What you do is you stick him in a loop of aerial finish stun. It actually takes a fair enough of skill to pull off, but less skill than fighting Lingering Will normally.
Believe it or not my first proud playthrough I did not use shot locks or surges. Not because I wanted to challenge my self but because when I first used them they felt weak as hell and shot locks left you very open. Little did I know they were stupidly good. I made my self go through a lot of hell because I gave up on them on the first world with terra.
On chain of memories I stoped using sonic blade because it felt weak to me at the late game so I just used oblivion and oathkeeper keyblade cards and just used 0 cards to stop boss attacks over the value of 9 so I could keep most of my 9 cards to fight with. Melee button spamming works well enough with Sora you just need 9 cards and a few 0 cards. Honestly I mostly just had two sonic blade slights and relayed on casting spells and having a mix of everything’s. It made most bosses a battle of patience and trial and error. To many time did I have to rebuild my deck just to fit another bosses strategy.
Are you telling me... there were easier ways to beat these games on the hardest settings...? I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THESE!!!! VEXAN, JULIUS, THE LINGERING WILL, THE MYSTERIOUS FIGURE, SEPHIROTH, AND ALL THE OTHER FUCKERS I DEFEATED THAT TOOK ME HOURS UPON HOURS TO BEAT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH EASIER?!?!?! FUCK MY LIFE
Unfortunatly even with Surges Mysterious Figure is still a pain in the ass, also for Sephiroth the Strike Raid spams doesn't work as well in 1.5 than the original game because of MP Rage being nerf and also Sephiroth is overall Harder because they randomize his AI in Final Mix.
demise light I honnestly don't think he is that hard to you just have to be cautious learn how to block/dodge his attacks and don't hesitate to heal when needed and look up for any opening and he is not that hard. KH2's Sephiroth if playing in Critical LV1 is harder for me because one error and you die (but starting at LV45-55 he start being a complete pushover tough).
I didn't really used Balloon in DDD until I started my second playthough. I personally don't like spamming balloon with the same reason from JOC. Really, it's good to see a countdown for Kingdom Hearts (and nice collab too).
I didn't even know that the Balloon spells were a thing that was gonna be so spammed. I guess I seriously handicapped my adventure from day 1. Althrough I have to say that the game becomes much more challenging and FUN this way. I seriously thought that the Flowmotion's Shock Dive was gonna be #1, since I spammed the hell out of that in almost all of my fights. Great job DK for making this video (along with Joc)
I will say that knowing about it now, that would be a good emergency move for if something was just giving someone way too much difficulty and they just wanted to get past it. But it's not something that I would necessarily use everywhere in the game.
Nice list DK. I didn't even know about that Fenrir trick on the Lingering Will! The more you know! Hopefully KH3 won't have balance issues that forces people to abuse certain mechanics. At least then maybe people will start to chill against those that just wanna beat the game.
The Sephiroth fight in KH1 was one of the most satisfying battles I ever had. Back when the game came out I didn't see the value in that ability, didn't even think about it's potential. I was so used to playing normally that it didn't even cross my mind. I had so much fun learning that fight =D
Sorry for spamming the comments, another thing to add regarding DDD is that buying broken abilities with flick rush medals becomes a whole lot easier when you find out that spamming megaflare counters is a much easier way to star rank fights. Then, before you get the more broken balloon commands or when you are facing up against normal Dream Eaters there is spamming flowmotion attacks. Flowmotion could get it's own freaking section, not only are you invincible for most of the attack animation, the damage beats out early skills and then you get a drop bonus to make it stronger. Even outside of combat the ability to chain walljumps makes almost any attempt by the map designers to require platforming or detours to get somewhere high a moot issue .
Spamming sleights is important in COM because that game is really hard without them! I also think maybe reflect fromKH2 should've been on here. Great vid btw guys!
To each is own I prefer the harder way because I love to challenge myself like I beat kh2.5 on critical lvl 1 and I enjoyed the challenge but if you don't want too and enjoy it your way than you can that's the great things about gameing
So doing this is like using the gunzerker with both the grog nozzle and the Unkempt Harold in Borderlands 2. (Explanation for the ignorant, the reason for this is that the gunzerker's action skill causes you to dual-wield 2 weapons. This might not seem too OP, but I didn't even explain the weapons. The grog nozzle is a weapon not really intended to be used outside the mission its temporarily given to you. Here is why this is very OP when you use your action skill. Firstly, it has the effect of slaging your enemies which increases damage inflicted by 3 times. Next its other effect is that damage inflicted will heal you. However, because of a mechanic known as passive weapon effects. Thus, any and ALL types of damage will heal you. Lastly, it third effect is its drunken effect and since the passive weapon effect feature exists it will pass it on to the other weapon, what the drunken effect does is it will multiply your projectile count. The 2nd weapon is the Unkempt Harold. This is the most overpowered pistol in the game. What it does is it fires a projectile that splits into 7 projectiles and this projectile does a lot of damage. This combo rips everything except the superbosses. Don't get me started on the interfacers and moneyshot.)
I think you are mixing two different things here. One is handicapping yourself and the other abusing simple mechanics to brake the game in an unfair way. I am all for people playing the way they want to. Surges? They are there, use them. Shotlocks? Why not? Limits to protect yourself? Its a good strategy. Limit Form? It's there for a reason. But... if you play the game in a way that you aren't really playing. Just pressing a button to get 'x' solved, then I'm sorry but you're not even playing. Constant spamming is just wrong. It makes it boring. Abusing negative combo and fenrir to beat Terra? Sorry you have not beaten Terra, you abused a "glitch". Every game has a line, the way it's loosely meant to be played. One can stray from that line. Either by handicapping oneself to make it harder, or overusing OP tactics to make it easier. It's fine either way. Some people like to erase the line and use glitches and shit. That is wrong. Period.
Friend had mortal kombat and wanted to play I never had, picked Sub Zero only character I know from the games, looked at the moves and then spammed to win didn't like the game but, beating him and how mad he got was really funny and not at all boring. Speed runners use glitches to beat games and looks like they are having fun, The Legend of Zelda wrong warp all the way to beating Ganon with the infinite sword as an example.
Aicon Speedrunners are handicapped by their goal, therefore using "glitches" or tricks to help them is okay. Spaming the same attack makes the game boring as in you know who is gonna win. That's why ranked games have restrictions and characters are banned or otherwise limited.
I feel like using the surges against mysterious figure is justified and in my experience the only time I used strike raid wasn't for invisibility, but to hit sephiroth when he decides to do teleport across the map and use heartless angel. I think shotlocks are only broken when that's the only thing you do. It's limit form, you have to survive your 1v1 encounters somehow especially on a level 1 run.
Jonathan Robinson Surges against MF - justified somewhat Strike Raid against Sephiroth - completely justified Abusing shotlocks only - broken and dumb Abusing limit form on lvl1 run - justified, you're handicapped in a lvl1 run so you might as well do everything you can to stay alive. Abusing limits in limit form in normal gameplay - broken and dumb
+Lord Marluxia yeah I don't think limits besides actually trying to kill someone like data xaldin with duck flare or using sora's trinity move to knock sephiroth out of the air in kh2. I don't think I shotlocked anyone to death either except maybe No Heart.
question is using Fenrir on Terra purely for the amazimg Strength bonus and fighting him reguarally a decent tactic? not abusing that trick just usimg the keyblade like i would any other?
As much as I like the KH franchise, many of the games have no balance which makes it too easy or bone crushingly hard. I know it has nothing to do with gameplay but many have been called scrubs for being confused by the story... Which has been convoluted to death and spread out across various consoles!, Its pretty obvious Square Enix are making the plot up as they go along.
There is a LOT of evidence that it's been well thought through in my opinion. Except Dream Drop Distance. That game's story is ridiculous. But I still love it.
+lisa semarron odd i never use the balloon spells hell i didn't even get balloonga in my first play through tho that was mostly because i didn't really like it using it and i prefer the other spells
How the fuck does not play KH2 on critical mode make you an "overpowered scrub"!? Taking away SC and OM make critical mode an absolute nightmare that only those with a lot more patience and skill can master (the best of the best). I'm fairly good at the series (beat every secret boss legit except for Lingering Will) but I still would not attempt a lvl 1 crit run. That in no way makes me, or anyone who wouldn't enjoy that, a "overpowered scrub." Anyone who thinks that is an ass. People like that just annoy me to no end, take yer elllitest shit somewhere else xD
Also I beat all of the superbosses with Terra in BbS and I don't blame ya on not even attempting that xD Masters Armor and No Heart are actually manageable and fun, but MF and Vanitas Remnant are a nightmare, took me 4 HOURS!
I understood that man :) I was saying that I can't under stand how people thing using those abilities makes you overpowered, they were put there to provide balance so your not constantly one shotted or stun-locked into death. Nothing overpowered about that.
I like to be an elitist shitbag, but I've only beat Re:coded at lv1 Critical, which you can't even really beat at level 1 since the game forces you to level up once. I might be arrogant, but I honestly don't even know how I'm gonna deal with some of the later bosses like Xigbar without Once More. =S
Nice Top 10 video. Good start on a Top 10 other than Final Fantasy. Hoping these new Top 10s get all the love and attention they deserve. Also DK, have you heard of the abomination that is Metal Gear Survive and what are your thoughts on it?
*raises band* I don't use surges. I actually use each characters beats moves in BBS like Faith for Ventus, Chaos blade for Terra, and Magic Hour for Aqua.
Faith is a semi-scrub move because it heals, deals a ton of damage, and gives super armor (but not as easy to use as other things on this list) this is why I love it so much
I never get mad at anyone who uses glitches or exploits, it's their choice hell I do it too. My proudest non "cheating" moment in KH is probably beating Sephiroth in 2FM on proud at lvl 58.
DiddleDorp I've done a similar feat around the same lvl in the og kh2 but the funny thing is I didn't know you could hit sephiroth out of the "heartless angel" and took the hit every time lol
my proudest moment was when i figured out how to fairly consistantly beat riku replica4 in chain of memorys on level1(even tho its boring, cheap and takes a long time.its really the only way i was able to think of that requires a bit of skill at least)
I like to brawl in KH, no limits and I use forms very seldomly but never on a boss fight. The Roxas data fight is my favorite because it forces you to be a skilled fighter, you have to dodge, guard, and attack when a window opens. I find it much more satisfying to beat a strong boss with skill rather than being cheap.
I recently got my platinum trophy for birth by sleep. A tip for taking on the super bosses with Terra is to figure out how to block as many attacks as possible and use his guard ability that heals him when you block an attack. This helped a lot in my fights with no heart and Mysterious Figure (Unknown) when I fought them on Critical. Mysterious Figure as Terra was hands down the hardest fight on that game to do on critical so a couple hundred retries happened before he went down.
Funny thing is... On the PSP I was able to defeat MF with Aqua and Ven but not with Terra. Now in 2.5 it's reversed. I defeated MF and No Heart with Terra, though I seem to be unable to do so with Aqua and Ven. I blame 2.5 :p
Darkkefka It's been a while since I played the PSP version so I dunno. But apparently my 14 year old self was better at using Aqua and Ven than I am now 5 years later... But I do remember that someone (don't remember who) mentioned that 2.5 made a lot of bosses including MF and No Heart much easier.
+Darkkefka Yeah he was way more harder for a couple of reasons : -On the original PSP version you cannot escape his grab move if he catch you with it you have 2 chances out of 5 to die EVEN with Once More and Second Chance and like I said in my other commentary sometimes he can troll you and use it right when you are doing a surge and he will catch you as soon as the Surge's i-frames end and you will not have the time to dodge. And trust me in the original PSP version this grab move is your main concern especially with Terra nearly all of my Game Over are due to this attack alone, since he can use it when there is his clones, when he is invisible and sometime when he use his lasers -For some reason his Charge move is way more dangerous in the original PSP because on the Final Mix version for some reason you can instantly retaliate in mid-air (even while he is hitting you) by using Curaga or in Aqua's case Barrier but this wasn't the case back then and sometimes what could happened is he hits you with the first strike but takes to much time for hitting you again (because he goes to far), and for some reasons the game didn't consider this as a combo (even tough you can't do anything) and cancel Second Chance and Once More -Also I had some strange glitch on the PSP version like one time I was in mid-air because of his charge move, I was at full health then he uses Meteor and Meteor one-shot me while I was in Full-Health and had Once More and Second Chance, I honestly don't know what happened this day. And sometime even when he doesn't go to far his charge bypass Once More and Second Chance for no reasons.
This is gonna be long. Apologies in advance. Your honorable mention should be abusing the Organization XIII broken strats/gltiches. There's methods of skipping various phases in each of those fights. Final Xehanort being likely the worst offender. You can skip the Riku part which on critical LVL 1 you might want to. I did it without even meaning to. I believe Cyberman65 made use of these in various speedruns. I don't like Surges or Shot Locks. That's the only reason why I don't use it where I'm not frustrated by stupid bosses. The reason why I don't like these. I have a bunch of other commands that I like. And I spend hours just building command decks that suit my style. But then because of the game's design. Bosses and enemies will say "Fuck you" to your favorite commands. And you go why the hell am I bothering with these commands. Why are they in the game if they're gonna be useless when I need them most? I mean Fucking Mega Flare which looks awesome and rapes minor enemies. Does jack shit to bosses. I can say the same thing for Magic Hour, Chaos Blade, Wind Raid. Granted I can give some leeway as to say "well this boss or that boss resist said move making it less effective." But really why does that happen for only those moves? The moves that actually took time and effort to get. That would be like FF7 Making KotR and limit breaks useless. I shouldn't be pressured to using commands I don't like over the commands I worked my ass off to get. I mean Vanitas Remnant actually punishes you for using certain commands by instantly killing you. (its not really instant kill but apparently during while your performing these moves your hitbox is as active as the Sans boss fight in Undertale so you die in one hit essentially). I can accept that. He can still be damaged by them (except shot locks). But you're risking a game over. This very reason is why I dislike Birth By Sleep. It's only redeeming factor was the Final Mix content. At least for me. Hell those extra bosses make you work for your victory regardless (the Final Mix ones). All these commands and when you ask most people what's great about the game they'll say something on the lines of the variety of moves you have. Well that *variety* gets horribly cut down the further you progress in the game unless you're casually playing this and have no intention on doing post game content. And don't get me started on D-Links. Which aren't even broken. I would actually go ahead and beat Mysterious Figure with Terra. I like playing as Terra he hits like a truck and makes ppl rethink there place in life. If the boss fight didn't glitch the most when I play as him. (Yes that boss fight does glitch. Although they are interesting it's still frustrating). And out of all my attempts and supposed strategies that supposedly worked for other people. They don't work for me. They actually get me killed quicker than any of the plans I came up with. I didn't like doing it with Ventus or Aqua. I don't like there playstyle. I say the same thing for Dream Drop Distance and every other KH game that uses the damn command deck. Why have all these commands that range from borderline useless to completely useless in the first place when there's this godlike command available? I'll have to try the Fenrir strat for Lingering Will. I used to think that fight was the most awesome one in the game. Dude's going batshit insane on you with all these flashy and at the same time effective moves. And you're panicking to just survive. But then I find out this fight is complete bullshit when I try it myself cause you do so little damage to him and the only way to do any notable damage is to keep comboing him. A guy that has his own recovery move for comboing him too much like Sephiroth. Then when I examine the videos that put in those famous titles (No Damage, No Blah Blah Blah). I see the difference between me and them. Heck I'm told the reason why I have these problems which I believe to be horse shit. Cause I'm a baby playing on Proud Mode. His defense goes up. Cause I chose the shield instead of the sword his defense is even higher. What kind of shit is that? I'm not doing a speedrun. I didn't know that about Strike Raid. I just used whatever. I'm in the heat of battle. Limit Form...meh. When I found out its weakness (You have no recovery moves). I judge it as completely balanced. Hell for the most part I see it only used as an emergency HP/MP recovery. TL:DR. I know its long but. It's in the fucking game. Either tell the developers to remove it from the game or make your own fan version of the game and remove/change em yourself. If this can happen for the Final Fantasy Series then it can happen for the KH series. Phew...I'm done.
Skipping DM phases on the org battles do require some knowledge though, you need to know exactly where the HP barriers are, and actually be able to say final form firaga spam (which requires that the *keyblades* in the firaga hits the boss to NOT add revenge value, and not the firaga itself which requires some precision movement, with final form being somewhat floaty on the controls) or on Xigbar, know how to do enough hits in without filling up his revenge value to max so he keeps the same pattern and doesn't DM.
Limit Form is pretty powerful. Sure you have no healing moves, but you heal each time you land a hit with a limit. With that and Once More/Second Chance, and you're good to go against most bosses.
+seqka711 no recovery moves. so you get comboed you just have to drop the controller and pray. heck limit form is rather surprisingly unreliable when I need it. I pretty much just use it and turn it off. generally forcing myself to find opportunities to make use of it.
Just something that I use on BbSFM for PFP (or PSP for those who don't get the reference)... Use Magnega to gather them mobs to you, then use Stopga. After that, Use Magnet Spiral. For some reason (that IDK), that clears out or seriously damages the Unversed a lot... And that works even if you're Lvl. 1. Also maxes out your Focus Bar if enough enemies are gathered... This seriously helped me a lot on my Lvl. 1 runs there... Another thing: those who spend a lot of time on a game might feel compelled to challenge themselves... since, as Kagami Junichirou (from Denpa Kyoushi - He is a Ultimate Teacher -) said, games are things to master. To add on to that, just be silent about your mastery level of a game, so you don't hurt other people's pride...
10:56 DUDE! im playing bbs right now fighting the mysterious figure as ventus while watching this video, and this part of the video frame perfectly synced up with the game's cutscene on my tv. thats fucking awesome.
Unfortunately that's not how human beings work. They cant just change how their voice is or "stop" having an emotion that changes their voice inflection because someone on the internet doesn't like how it sounds.
The thing is, as soon as Terra reaches 50-55 you can more or less literally spam Thunder Surge even without dodging that often as he will do already insane damage. If you get lucky you don't need more than 10-12 succesfull Thunder Surges
nice video dk glad to see a top 10 for kingdom hearts lol I use to spam strike said so much the first time I played the 1st kingdom hearts game. you have any other ideas already got another top 10 of kingdom hearts
I like using the default keyblades in kingdom hearts games.not because i like to handycap myself but because i like their design, also to compensate i always grind a little in the beginning. I that a bad thing? I not mad just curious
yo, for vexen (yes I am aware how late I am) reflect is your best friend. did the bastard formless. pretty much, reflect at the start to screw over anti-form, and just combo his shield. don't worry about fire too much, just focus on reflecting near him and his shield will snap with a few combo finishers, and if you remove combo plus it's pretty easy.
I love Kingdom Hearts because, it was the first came to give me a 3D fight against Sephiroth. I was at a friend's house and I was mesmerized by the fight at the Coliseum. When I got the game for myself, I had only one thing in my mind: To get to the part in the game where I get to fight him. As a gamer, I crave sword to sword duels. When I finally got there, I used two methods for Sephiroth's most brutal attacks: Heartless Angel and Octaslash. With Heartless Angel, I just super glide to him and just interrupt the spell. Done. Octaslash was harder because, rolling didn't always work. So I faced him head on and used guard. Yes, I learned to guard all hits from Octaslash. The strike raid strategy is effective but... I still think guarding all the attacks saved some of your MP. Nice video anyways.
I remember fighting the Mysterious Figure in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. It took two days for me to beat him playing as Aqua, and another two days to beat him as Ventus. As for Terra, it took me three days to beat him. I had to do pretty much what Darkkefka said in this video on how other people were able to beat the Superbosses and also a lot of patiences.
In case you didn't know, Strike Raid costs THREE MP in the original Japanese version of KH1 (not Final Mix), while Ars Arcanum costs 2 MP. Which was a good thing because the devs seemed to know that Strike Raid was a bit too cheap with its long invincibility frames, so they made it cost more MP. But, the US version for whatever reason decided to swap the MP costs of Strike Raid and Ars Arcanum (Strike Raid costs 2 MP instead) and it gets applied to the Final Mix version too. Of course I chose NOT to overly rely on Strike Raid even when fighting Seph, because to hell with that "Max Level + Ultima Weapon + Strike Raid spam" sole requirement. Even at LV70-80 range with just Metal Chocobo, Guard, Counterattack, and Curaga, Seph was STILL beatable. Well, except in Final Mix, where Seph became harder to beat and pretty much required me to spam Strike Raid. Sleight spam in CoM? Well, yeah, it was way easier to pull of in the PS2 remake. I used them a lot during boss fights but only as counterattacks (breaking oppoent's card with). With that tactic, not even late-game bosses (such as the notoriously hard Riku IV back from the original GBA version) could stand against that. Well, except maybe the 2nd Vexen battle, he's surprisingly durable.
The only tricks I used in this list was Strike Raid KH1 for Sephiroth battle and Limit forms KH2 for bosses. But the latter one is supposed to be used no? And I wouldn't consider myself a technical KH master or some like that. Haven't played DDD, so dont know bout the bubble thing. I'm surprised you didn't mention the Cloud spam on CoM to the GBA version. This spam got me through the whole game as Sora without effort. So yeah, only those two tricks. Learned some new stuff from this video. But yeah, Vexen is hella hard! Now that you mentioned it in the video, I feel like trying on Sephiroth without Strike Raid some time.
So THAT'S what the balloon spells do. Never used them in my playthrough cuz I thought they would be trash, I mean when you think "good spells" a balloon does NOT pop (heh) into your head. I mostly just used the raid commands cuz I love them.
Keep up the good work with the videos man. Just one question though and I'm sorry if it's been answered before: Are you planning on moving to 1080p videos any time soon?
Pretty good list, but I can't believe Reflect spam in KH2 wasn't mentioned. I was sure either that or Ven/Aqua dodge spam was going to be #1, but Balloon is also a good choice
I didn't use balloon at all in my playthrough. It was just one of those spells i wasnt familiar with so I never bothered equipping it. Kinda happy i never tested it out
Great list. I realize that I like a challenge enough to enjoy critical mode (secret bosses included) but I know I wouldn't enjoy lvl 1 critical mode. I feel like that's pretty common.
thx for all the tips if I wouldn't have learned about the surges I never would have beaten mysterious figure, but I didn't use surges on anyone except mysterious figure
To be honest, when I played Aqua on BBS for the first time, I totally forgot about Shotlocks and d-links. In KH1 I didn't get strike raid til the end of the game and it doesn't want to activate when I'm in a boss (is it a curse or not). Also I don't use surges sooooooooo, then again I just spam what abilities load.
I'm proud to say I only used the Strike Raid invincibility in the Sephiroth fight. Though mostly to prevent him from using Sin Harvest and because his Omnislash on PS4 is WAY too fast to dodge.
I have only used the limit in kh2 for xaldin as I don't know how to avoid that dragoon attack besides that I tried ballon but didn't like it I use other commands other than that and for surges how do you not use them it activates pretty much automatically when using some commands unless you want to fight without commands which is pretty stupid if you ask me or just wait to use one so as to not activate surges which sounds annoying as
I am surprised that reflect from kh2 did not make it on here as well. Personally I am guilty of a few of those tactics especially with the optional bosses. I am proud to say that I was able to beat the mysterious figure with all three characters, sure terra was around level 86-88 but still fighting with him was a nightmare.
I think you're allowed a certain level of OP or spamming if you figure it out and put the time in to learn the move. Coming up with better ways to something isn't cheap it is efficient.
There's a game theory called Dominant Strategy and basically if a game has something that will ultimately benefit you more than anything else, you're pretty much always going to use it.
Comment on #III at 9:49 is the best I have ever heard... and broken down for the simplest of minds. KH: COM is my fav out of all of them. Played it first on GBA then bought the PS2 then the PS3 versions. It's just that good.
First time I ever played Birth By Sleep, I didn't know about surges, and sucked at finding a good time to use Shotlocks, so I mostly just used whatever abilities I had when the situation was right, or attacked and got out of dodge repeatedly. Of course, I was also on Standard mode for the entirety of the first character arc, meaning I had plenty of time to learn. I also never took on any optional bosses, anywhere.
I actually had no idea ANY of these were a thing besides shot locks and the surges and I only really used those in 2 instances. I guess I'm either stupid or painfully oblivious in many cases.
i found a way to spam the strike raid attack again in kh1, save all your elixirs you get during the game and try to make a few with the ingredients you need, after doing that you will have many elixers. you'll have enough to spam strike raid and when you are out of mp , use elixer and continue doing it.
That awkward moment when you started talking about number 6, and I didn't even know that the surges existed, and never used shotlocks in BBS because I forget they exist too sometimes. The MF was pretty fun though even without those two things.
I honestly never knew Balloon was OP in Dream Drop Distance. I had a lot of trouble on have the bosses, but the most enjoyable, but extremely hard fight was Young Xehanort. I love how that battle requires strategy and technique.
I never realized Balloon spells were so OP... I spammed Spark Dive with Sora most of the time, and I don't even remember what I did with Riku. I definitely need to replay Dream Drop Distance...
I managed to defeat both Mysterious Figure and Vantias's Lingering Will with Terra, it took forever though. But you are correct, Terra not having a good dodge move was so annoying.
The only "Scrub Tactic" I'd raise an eyebrow at is Fenrir + Negative Combo, if only because that's an exploit that can almost be considered a glitch - you're clearly NOT supposed to stun-lock the hardest boss in Kingdom Hearts 2 like that. It totally defeats the purpose of even fighting the boss in the first place; it's like using Zanmato in Final Fantasy X to cheese your way past everything. Then again, if you can beat Sephiroth legitimately to get the Fenrir, you should be able to beat Lingering Will and the other superbosses legitimately as well.
Iv never had to do anything on this list and iv beaten all sept DDD on critical. Sure iv died a bit and all that...but iv never found any of the games parts to be brain numbing hard that id need to use any of this stuff. Am i weird?
That feeling when I played the whole of KH 3D and never heard of the Balloon spell.
DragonArbock lol same
I tough baloon is like firework or confetti in kh BBS , that one of the useless command , i didnt event know that baloon can up lv to baloonga .. Dang it , i should spmming it all the way till the end game , i mean that intresting to finish the game with a boring way right .. 😂😂
@@marasyd7244 I only used baloon on the optional boss.
Same lol fought all the boss in DDD the legit way never fought the super boss though
Me too
I played through DDD twice, once on proud, again on critical and I never knew how broken Balloon was.
Me too xD
+Onionknight/Høpè Dso me 3
You don't really need to use Balloon spells btw, not using them isn't handicaping yourself, since there are other good commands such as Dark Splicer/Aura, Dark Firaga, Firaga Burst, Ars Arcanum...
Same for me. The only reason I ever used them is because I looked up a guide to beat Julius. Lol
If you can beat the game with your eyes closed while controlling the pad with your toes, go for it, but stop shitting on others because they CAN'T do it.
god ikr.
Btw what's a scrub?
A person who think's he/she's something.
+lisa semarron urban dictionary: basically someone who doesn't know how a game works or "how it's supposed to be played".
Oh now I see. Ty
I find it funny people care about how other people play games.
It's because some people just have nothing better to do.
...It's 2016, all games are essentially a global competition. Of course people care if someone took the easy way to someone else's achievement.
Again, goes to show how little people nowadays have to do.
+SBaby
We're an overpopulated species, not everyone is as important as you 😁.
What if they wanna adopt the other person's playstyle?
It doesn't bother me if other people find an easier way to play the game. Its a game. What matters is having fun.
silly youtube commenter, kingdom hearts stopped being a game sometime in 2012, that shit's a way of life now, and if you can't do the hard challenges, then you're just not a real key blade master and the heartless are going to win and it's all your fault, simply because you can't beat the shit out of God while being a schizophrenic baby in a wheel chair during the peak of an acid trip
Who watched this after the announcement of Kingdom Hearts releasing on Steam?
Happy to help out partner! I also forgot to mention that you simply cannot say the words, "Dream Drop Distance" without somebody mentioning balloon! Anyways glad to see you finally starting KH countdowns!! looking forward to more in the future! :)
me too. Ima sub to you
Maybe it's me, but I prefer to call the Balloons, Bubbles. =D
haha thank you :)
JOC217 your welcome hon
Balloon Drop Distance.
I love how you're doing Top 10 videos for Kingdom Hearts now too! I'd love to see more, maybe Top 10 story bosses or Top 10 annoying Heartless etc?
My all time proudest was beating Lingering Will on Critical , level 1 without getting hit (Yes I really did it - It took months of practice).
The Ultimate Braixen Bravo! That's Awesome!
No wonder thats your name, im decent, and id break the console before doing that
I'd love to see more Top 10 Kingdom Hearts videos by you in the future, DK.
When it comes to sleights, i am more of a lethal frame kind of guy myself.
My favorite tactic was setting up my deck so that the leftovers after Lethal Frame spam let me spam another sleight (I think I went with sonic rave). I usually went for hp instead of cp so getting more out of my deck before pulling out the potions was nice.
Anything with Aqua, I click....She is my favorite character!
my second....behind only Rikku.
Darkkefka Rikku's great too! :)
it literally never crossed my mind to use fenrir against lingering will.
ClayXros it takes no skill with comet since you can stun him then start your combo on him
You used comet? I just got him into a stunlock through the seat of my pants. I could never get Comet to work for me so I said "screw it".
Well, the more you know. 😈 Now, let’s get him.
ClayXros equip auto limit for comet on Donald’s abilities and right when the fight starts you will stun him
Believe it or not my first proud playthrough I did not use shot locks or surges.
2:03 I just summon Stitch most of my fights. He his surprisingly useful...
tfw it could have been a top 13 list to fit the kingdom hearts theme :(
Are you telling me... there were easier ways to beat these games on the hardest settings...? I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THESE!!!! VEXAN, JULIUS, THE LINGERING WILL, THE MYSTERIOUS FIGURE, SEPHIROTH, AND ALL THE OTHER FUCKERS I DEFEATED THAT TOOK ME HOURS UPON HOURS TO BEAT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH EASIER?!?!?! FUCK MY LIFE
Hey, don't feel too bad. I didn't know about 90 percent of these either.
Nesouk Kefka I'm gonna be 100% honest I think sephiroth in KH 1 was really easy, I beated him on my second try without the ultima weapon
demise light I honnestly don't think he is that hard to you just have to be cautious learn how to block/dodge his attacks and don't hesitate to heal when needed and look up for any opening and he is not that hard. KH2's Sephiroth if playing in Critical LV1 is harder for me because one error and you die (but starting at LV45-55 he start being a complete pushover tough).
+demise light (the mediamanga master) Me too. I even used Oathkeeper.
Of course, in the PS4 version, they're supposedly nerfing it, so spamming it to win every fight might not be an option anymore.
Warp dive was my favorite attack in DDD
Nice list DK. I didn't even know about that Fenrir trick on the Lingering Will! The more you know! Hopefully KH3 won't have balance issues that forces people to abuse certain mechanics. At least then maybe people will start to chill against those that just wanna beat the game.
I'm glad I used the fenrir on Terra. I consider it stress releiving after 20-50 loses.
"losses"
The Sephiroth fight in KH1 was one of the most satisfying battles I ever had. Back when the game came out I didn't see the value in that ability, didn't even think about it's potential. I was so used to playing normally that it didn't even cross my mind. I had so much fun learning that fight =D
Nr. 5: "How does Square allow this to happen!?"
I think its called an exploit smh....
I love playing video games but I'll admit, I'm not a game goddess. Good video, by the way. Took the words out of my mouth.
Jonathan Robinson Surges against MF - justified somewhat
Strike Raid against Sephiroth - completely justified
Abusing shotlocks only - broken and dumb
Abusing limit form on lvl1 run - justified, you're handicapped in a lvl1 run so you might as well do everything you can to stay alive.
SCRUUUUUUUB!
Not really spread across so many consoles anymore. All you need now is a PS3 and PS4.
There is a LOT of evidence that it's been well thought through in my opinion. Except Dream Drop Distance. That game's story is ridiculous. But I still love it.
Square needs to get Hideo Kojima to make sense of the plot.
Well, and a PC and fan translator for X (because the Android/iOS version isn't a great port).
I did not know about the Fenrir stunlock on Lingering Will. That's hilarious. So good.
I like balloon. but I don't spam it I only use one
Yeah I just use one balloon command bc it's more fun using different commands then just balloon and cure.
Kevin C. True. Only one cure and balloon spell
+lisa semarron odd i never use the balloon spells hell i didn't even get balloonga in my first play through tho that was mostly because i didn't really like it using it and i prefer the other spells
kevin I got it so I wouldn't be cornered
lisa semarron lucky u i hardy use tho i didn't know they were broken
I was completely unaware of every single one of these. I wish I knew about many of them earlier, especially Fenrir on Lingering Will.
It's critical level 1 that people look down on you for not doing...because without it, there's no second chance and once more.
I understood that man :) I was saying that I can't under stand how people thing using those abilities makes you overpowered, they were put there to provide balance so your not constantly one shotted or stun-locked into death. Nothing overpowered about that.
People get a boner from handicapping themselves and making a battle as difficult as they possible can.
Game: "Kingdom Hearts III"
Thanks, TH-cam Gaming. You've managed to pull through again.
ah so Terra is like kid Gohan
Dodge lol
Nice Top 10 video. Good start on a Top 10 other than Final Fantasy. Hoping these new Top 10s get all the love and attention they deserve.
Also DK, have you heard of the abomination that is Metal Gear Survive and what are your thoughts on it?
*raises band* I don't use surges. I actually use each characters beats moves in BBS like Faith for Ventus, Chaos blade for Terra, and Magic Hour for Aqua.
*Hand
I also rarely use shotlocks
You prove tons of good points too but I rather play BBS without these.
Faith is a semi-scrub move because it heals, deals a ton of damage, and gives super armor (but not as easy to use as other things on this list)
this is why I love it so much
Itai Sprachman OK? What about Ars Arcanium?
***** not so much
But still awesome
Loved this vid DK. The only one I wouldn't do is Fenrir on Lingering Will. That's just too repetitive a movement for my tastes.
if it makes you feel better, i beat Julius without Balloons.
i really enjoy your top 10 vids dude. looking forward to more
I never get mad at anyone who uses glitches or exploits, it's their choice hell I do it too. My proudest non "cheating" moment in KH is probably beating Sephiroth in 2FM on proud at lvl 58.
Yea that's how i beat him
DiddleDorp I've done a similar feat around the same lvl in the og kh2 but the funny thing is I didn't know you could hit sephiroth out of the "heartless angel" and took the hit every time lol
DiddleDorp literally just beat him on Critical mode lvl 52. didn't even have Aerial Dodge
my proudest moment was when i figured out how to fairly consistantly beat riku replica4 in chain of memorys on level1(even tho its boring, cheap and takes a long time.its really the only way i was able to think of that requires a bit of skill at least)
My proudest moment is finishing both kh1 and 2 at level 1 I’m currently trying to kill sephiroth at lvl 1 in kh2
I'm a scrub for using save states beat Unknown using Terra.
I'm gonna use save states if there's long waves of fights between bosses because that crap is just too annoying to go through over and over again.
Was he really harder on PSP??
Darkkefka
It's been a while since I played the PSP version so I dunno.
But apparently my 14 year old self was better at using Aqua and Ven than I am now 5 years later... But I do remember that someone (don't remember who) mentioned that 2.5 made a lot of bosses including MF and No Heart much easier.
+Darkkefka Yeah he was way more harder for a couple of reasons :
-On the original PSP version you cannot escape his grab move if he catch you with it you have 2 chances out of 5 to die EVEN with Once More and Second Chance and like I said in my other commentary sometimes he can troll you and use it right when you are doing a surge and he will catch you as soon as the Surge's i-frames end and you will not have the time to dodge. And trust me in the original PSP version this grab move is your main concern especially with Terra nearly all of my Game Over are due to this attack alone, since he can use it when there is his clones, when he is invisible and sometime when he use his lasers
-For some reason his Charge move is way more dangerous in the original PSP because on the Final Mix version for some reason you can instantly retaliate in mid-air (even while he is hitting you) by using Curaga or in Aqua's case Barrier but this wasn't the case back then and sometimes what could happened is he hits you with the first strike but takes to much time for hitting you again (because he goes to far), and for some reasons the game didn't consider this as a combo (even tough you can't do anything) and cancel Second Chance and Once More
-Also I had some strange glitch on the PSP version like one time I was in mid-air because of his charge move, I was at full health then he uses Meteor and Meteor one-shot me while I was in Full-Health and had Once More and Second Chance, I honestly don't know what happened this day. And sometime even when he doesn't go to far his charge bypass Once More and Second Chance for no reasons.
+Paul Schadow Actually MF has been nerfed since the PSP's Final Mix version so his US/PAL PSP's version is the Hardest one
Nesouk Kefka
Yeah, I thought so.
As I said, I heard someone mention that but it's been a while.
Maybe for your next Kingdom Hearts countdown idea, top 10 Keyblades, based on design, symbolism and use in battle? Will that work
This is gonna be long.
The Gaming Mole: Brad_Ry I feel the same way about the bosses making the commands useless.. like why make it that way? It only promotes spamming
Equip 4 Shade Archive and have Second Chance and Once More and you can win against every bosses. Of course at LVL 1, its not viable, so..
It's a single player game who cares
You'll be surprised....
+Dragonspheres I watched the beginning, found it stupid, wrote the comment, stopped watching.
10:56 DUDE! im playing bbs right now fighting the mysterious figure as ventus while watching this video, and this part of the video frame perfectly synced up with the game's cutscene on my tv. thats fucking awesome.
That tone of voice you use when you get "mad" is extremely annoying, please stop. You almost sound like Mr.Enter.
Unfortunately that's not how human beings work.
They cant just change how their voice is or "stop" having an emotion that changes their voice inflection because someone on the internet doesn't like how it sounds.
Getsu Fuma "mold yourself to my liking so I can like you"
The thing is, as soon as Terra reaches 50-55 you can more or less literally spam Thunder Surge even without dodging that often as he will do already insane damage. If you get lucky you don't need more than 10-12 succesfull Thunder Surges
You should do top 10 hardest KH bosses, normal enemies, super bosses, keyblades and hardest keyblades to get.
nice video dk glad to see a top 10 for kingdom hearts lol I use to spam strike said so much the first time I played the 1st kingdom hearts game. you have any other ideas already got another top 10 of kingdom hearts
I loved this video, definitely subbed !! Your voice is awesome and you’re funny af man definitely gonna keep watching !
good video. never used or knew of any of these tactics. can't wait til the ps4 release
I Don't Care What Anyone else says I'd Like to See Darkkefka do more Kingdom Hearts Top 10's like this one :)
1080 takes to long for me to process and upload.
Honestly most of those spams in the side games I didn't even know I could do before Bitzkit mentioned them
Pretty good list, but I can't believe Reflect spam in KH2 wasn't mentioned. I was sure either that or Ven/Aqua dodge spam was going to be #1, but Balloon is also a good choice
Good top 10. I would like to see a top 10 of hardest Kingdom Hearts bosses in all the games
*from all the games
It's coming....
This was an awesome video! This is one of my favorite top tens!
Also keep up the good work!
Your Top 10s will never get old.
I'm proud to say I only used the Strike Raid invincibility in the Sephiroth fight. Though mostly to prevent him from using Sin Harvest and because his Omnislash on PS4 is WAY too fast to dodge.
What is the music playing at the very end of your video ? Please
Wow, i did all the superbosses in KH 1 and i didn't even knew about the Strike Raid thing.
hey DK have you ever tried using final form firaga on vexen
Yes. Like I said..the fire loop never works for me.
Hey I was gonna mention Biz but you did it for me. Nice.
I honestly never knew Balloon was OP in Dream Drop Distance. I had a lot of trouble on have the bosses, but the most enjoyable, but extremely hard fight was Young Xehanort. I love how that battle requires strategy and technique.
That wallpaper flip tho!
Dope!
So DK now that you played Dream Drop Distance what do you think about the Balloon commands.
As Stone Cold Steve Austin would say, "If you want to see Darkkefka make some more Kingdom Hearts Top 10s in the future, gimme a hell yeah!"
Steve Austin are you fuckin kidding me? you must be like older than bible scripture to make that reference XD
What's with the saturation? Avoiding copyright or something?
Am i weird?
