I graduated from Harding in 1971. It was a tradition to go to the Midway and the parade. I love it. Brought back so many memories

Wonderful memories of Bridgeport, we had no fear back then and everyone had great respect for one another no matter what race you were. During that time of the year was a celebration for all as it started off with the parade, once that was over folks went to the midway, most had picnics at the park, and when it got dark we watched the fireworks at Seaside Park. Wow, the good old days!! Thank your for sharing💛

Watching brought back many memories. I lived 4 blocks north from filming location.
I would have been 11 and watching at the corner of Beechwood Ave.
    Thanks for posting

Wow , I lived around the corner on Washington Terrace. I used to deliver groceries for Coyne's market and worked at Tom Clancy's candy store. Thanks for posting. That parade was the highlight of the summer. Tons of people just being Americans.

Park Ave between Wood Ave and Olive St. I lived around the corner on Iranistan. These parades were almost 3 hours long. Everyone would rope off the strip of grass on their front sidewalk the day before. Second floor apartments would have people out on their roofs watching. The Shriners in the mini cars was the highlight for us kids. I always used to say the 3 wheeled motorcycle police had ice cream in there. Everybody knew somebody that marched in the parade and we all kept watch for them. The Midway at Seaside always smelled like sausage and peppers. Cotton candy and pink, green, or yellow popcorn that came wrapped in cellophane in a block shape. Good times.

Yep...good times...that was at the corner of Park and Harral Ave. The Musante's lived in the corner house....Looking for Hughie Kiernan tossing down a cold one..I grew up a few streets up on Benham...man did we look forward to that time of the year...

I truly believe the glorious times are long gone due to drugs and the internet and technology. This was a great time in my city long before i was even born. Thats why Bpt is so haunted. Real talk.

Thank you for posting. Wish we could find some footage of the ballroom at pleasure beach prior to the fire of 74.

So the video says 1971. The end says 1964. Is the very end 1964 and just added in?

How can they make 50 + year old parades on today's modern tech you tube ?
