That's why I don't get motivational speakers. There are people who literally make their living being a motivational speaker. If you were unmotivated before, how long is the motivation you get from a stranger telling you platitudes on a stage going to last? My company hired one to give us a speech, and the whole time I was sitting there thinking "This dude is full of shit."
You know what motivates me? Money and danger. Because I'm a normal person.

Kill Bill is rated R. Children (example she gave age 12) should not be watching it. I would be happy to tell parents that the movie is not real and be happy telling parents that they should not be letting children watch it. It is a rated R movie for a reason.

When I was 16 I got introduced to Power Rangers where I lived. A couple of months later I had hear that the Studio that showed it was being sued and parents were trying to get the show removed AND trying to shut down the station itself for airing Power Rangers.
This obviously didn't work out because here we are 30 years later and it's still a thing; even if they haven't done anything new (in show format) for a while now. There's still a reboot in the works - so I hear. But I mean if your child is going around trying to stab people because they see Power Rangers fight with weapons then THAT SHIT is on you as a Parent. It's YOUR responsibility to TEACH your child the difference between fiction and reality. Don't just plop them down in front of a TV or computer or game console while you sit back with a drink in your hand. Monitor you OWN children and we'll have LESS delusion adults every 18 years.
Both my girls grew up watching 70's horror. They are both fine.

The problem with success and therefor also the showing of lifestyles is that success is subjective to every individual, the only honest way is to talk about what mindset you need to develop to become successful and number one on that list is to follow your own path and learn about yourself instead of following the crowd and doing what they are doing, that's the biggest pitfall people fall into.

I want to be clear I am a white man that is not capable of being a fire fighter, I would not take a job as a fire fighter. I certainly wouldn't blame the people I put at greater risk by taking that job. that is why it is outrageous to me.

If someone commits a crime because of a movie or TV series that's on them not the writer they probably where already harbouring those thoughts before watching if they can't tell difference between a character and real life then you need to wonder about their mental stability in the first place

I'm 50/50 about these street preachers though to be honest. I have seen MORE than my share of these people that plant themselves among a group of people and start preaching and they speak in the most arrogant condescending "I'm better than you." speech anyone can use. Most of the time they also refuse to read the crowd. They'll start giving their sermons and when no one appears remotely interested they'll start saying some shit that gets personal and invasive. Also KEEP that shit where it belongs. In groups of like-minded people. not EVERYONE wants some preacher telling them they're going to Hell because they don't agree with you. Street preachers NEED to be regulated. And most of all the plant themselves in areas where it's rather calm and peaceful and blast their speaker loud enough so that entire neighborhoods can hear them. They don't need to be so effing loud.

Still though; I personally would just walk away. Making a scene is exactly what these kind of people WANT you to do so that they can THEN claim assault and abuse by you. Also notice how cameras only turn on when these people have crossed the line and then it's the retaliation that's caught on camera; not the instigation of the confrontation. NO ONE cares about people arguing; it's only when things get physical that cameras come out and at THAT point, the assholes that started the confrontation act like the victims of violence.

Certain type of people have been complaining about entertainment influencing people to violance pretty much forever. They were never able to comprehend that normal stable person can disconnect from fiction when it's over and it is time to go face the reality again.
Cant speak for others but in my case i better learn by seeing and doing instead of hearing. Hearing inspirational speech will do nothing for me. I have to see the process and result or experience it first hand.

If I'm not mistaken the interview with Quentin Tarantino happened around 2003 at a time when a lot of people were up in arms about violence in cinema and violence in video games being the cause of actual violence in society. It was such an idiotic argument to make considering the history of serial killers and war long before mainstream cinema and especially video games even existed. The majority of the entire movement came from people who killed and instead of saying religion made me do it or they heard voices, or any other weak excuse usually for an insanity plea they would blame the movies, tv shows, or video games for their actions and when some people heard these excuses that actually believed it and instead of holding people accountable for their own actions decided to protest against depictions of violence.
The movie Scream 2 actually made references to the movement in the film and used it as a plot point since ***SPOILER ALERT AHEAD FOR A MOVIE FROM 1997*** one of the killers actually says his plan is to get caught so he can become a famous serial killer and during his trial he is going to blame the movies, likely in hopes that he would go free like OJ so that he (the character in the film) could kill again.
I mean to be fair Kill Bill IS excessively violent, that's true. BUT it also shows that she was PUSHED to that violence. Uma Thurman wasn't as violent BEFORE she was betrayed. even though Bill and his crew WERE in fact killers (likely contract killers) Uma herself would have been happy to live her life free of violence. She was in fact getting married and settling down when Bill and the goons came in murdered EVERYONE in front of her then EFFED her up KNOWING that she was pregnant at the time and left her for dead AFTER cutting her open and taking her baby. I'd say a little psychotic vengeance isn't JUST warranted, but well deserved. LOL.
In accordance to this crazy woman personal responsibility is irrelevant.
