This song, Be Calm, Barlights, even Some Nights, all sound like they were composed by people who listened to a lot of Queen, and yay for them! Queen's a great band and so is fun. Now my favorite part happens to be the bridge at 2:20, when the texture changes and it's like clouds opened up or something. Definitely some great musical choices. That little piano riff in the background sounds like something Randy Newman would have written but not as campy. 😝

Fun is like Queen in the way that Lady Gaga is like Madonna and Maroon5 is like MJ. people are in capable of separating things from eachother and therefore MUST associate them with someone else. Being inspired by someone, or being similar to someone, doesn't make them the same thing. they can never be "exactly the same" simply by definition of the words.

It's all well and good to have "hipster" music tastes, but don't come to to youtube ranting about how people who learned about them recently makes them "less" than you. I've been listening to Fun. since early 2010 and I don't ever think that that makes me "more of a fan." Just be happy people enjoy the same music that you do.
Not trying to pick fights but I just wanted to say something about the auto-tune. I know a lot of people didn't like it but I do. It wasn't because he needed to fix his voice in anyway because he is obviously really really good. I though it was creative and really added to the song. =)
