Matt Steyer love them and saw them in Toronto in 1994. They are one of those bands that sounds better in studio than live. Hard to explain. All the instrumental arrangements are done so meticulously in the studio you can hear different instruments and sounds listening to it over and over. When live it all gets drowned out a little. Still great to see though
@@robertbruce1307 to be fair, 1994 was easily their worst concert era, Liz seemed to have a huge meltdown and "experimented" way too much with her singing. 1990-91 tour was way better (1996 tour was much better also)
Saw them in '85 at the Ritz in NYC. With the tape machine for a drummer. It didn't go over all that well, Liz was really nervous. My friends weren't into it at all. 2. 1990 Beacon Theater, NYC. Heaven or Las Vegas tour, much better with a full band and drummer. All I really remember was it looked like they were playing in an aquarium. Mazzy Star opened. 3. 1994 Cameo Theater in Miami FL. My brother and I actually met and spoke with Robin up in the balcony before/during the opening act (The Veldt?), we talked about Howard Stern (he was a big fan). My brother swears he bought us some beers at the bar but I don't remember that.
I thought it was all post recording production...this is so unbeliveabllay good sonically. Perfection, lightening in a bottle. So unique, that inflection in her voice oh my baby cries
glad i found this clip= that was beautiful! WOLF IN THE BREAST (Wolf in the Breast): n. [English slang] A knowing pain in the breast. luv all their music she is soooo UNIQUE
Peace to all the good people who sought this out.
If anyone was at this show, or any of their shows over the years, I envy you

This is probably my favorite live version of any song that is currently on TH-cam. ❤️ Thank god for Cocteau Twins

check out robins solo work its lacking the vocals but still uniquely amazing, some of the most consistently good music made in the last 20 years
