Living legend. I really wished they make him an announcer to the US Open.

It is interesting to wonder why he has never been an announcer that i can think of. Paul Azinger seems to be the guy now. Kinda boring

He announced golf as a color guy for many years on Tv ( channel 5 NBC) then the Senior Tour and won 29 times There.
He was insightful and wonderful to listen to.
      I’m
Sure he made more money with his clinics as TV didn’t pay much as Golf Channel didn’t exist then

I had seen him do some on-course commentary and it was awesome to hear his take on someones miss, or someones greatness. However all that was just a once-in-awhile analysis from Trevino. I wondered why not more the legend in the on-course broadcast?
I'm sure he could be a big hit if he would do that again in retirement. I'd tune-in 100% if I knew Trevino was on-board.

I model my swing on trevino. No more turning the wrist over. Nice straight shots or fades. Good distance too as I'm more consistent in compressing the ball.

You & me both. One of the greatest lessons I ever got was from the January 1992 issue of Golf Digest with Lee on the cover claiming he would cure your slice. In the article one of the titles was: Aim left, swing right, walk straight. Of course I’m left handed so I had reverse the order but it’s worked for me ever since.

@@TheonethecallQuaid excellent, aim left, swing right, walk straight. Good sensible advice. Best he said was to keep putting the ball back in the stance until you start hitting it solid.

    Holy smokes! The Holy Grail!
Lee Trevino is the only one that talked about bounce I've been looking for this video.
Thanks for putting this up! Yee Haww!

100% correct In his concept about hitting the wedge, but there's only one Lee Travino, know one will ever compress the golf ball like Mr Travino! one of my favorites, when he played racism was in full force, so what he had to over come was absolutely incredible, I'm a white Irishman and I had a tuff enough time getting life right and I had no discrimination to deal with!God Bless you Mr Travino.... what a mind that man has,,

Breaking the wrists on short pitch shots is what Phil Rodgers taught. I use the technique on a variety of shots around the green with excellent results. Takes practice and combining it with a slightly open club face at address produces the desired shot.

Tenison Park is my home course also. It isn't as bad as it was in his day, but the rough is the hardest hard pan I've ever seen. If your ball lands on it, kiss it goodbye because it won't stop rolling until it's in the woods or the water or the next fairway over.

If you do "This" instead of "That" you should be ok. Or maybe try this "Here" instead of that "There" might be all you need to do.

  • @TheWedgeWizard

This is how you use wedges. To much bs about returning the club to the address position for the middle of your stance these days. If you want to be good with wedges, listen to Trevino and Phil.
