Wow this is crazy. I just got into it with a family member that I live with who has kids and they have been taken advantage of me financially and physically, meaning having to take care of their responsibilities while they get to have more freedom to do as they please. I finally told them that it’s time for me to go, because after 8+ years and 2+ kids (they only had 2 kids when I agreed to help them out TEMPORARILY, now there’s 4), I realized that they are way too comfortable with me not holding them accountable for their bs. They just except me to allow them to continue using me and walk all over me then proceed to gaslight me when I react from simply being fed up with them wasting my time. I get told that I’m choosing to see things that way. That they aren’t using me and has a family member it’s expected of me to always be there for them no matter what they do, no matter how many times they mess up even if it affects me negatively, I should still stick around and deal with the consequences of their actions. I’m exhausted and I’m starting to feel resentment which is a bad sign. That’s how I know it’s time for me to go. I love them all but I can’t keep going like this. It’s really starting to take a toll on me mentally, physically and financially.
