@ReachAviation C-130J pilot takeoff from the jumpseat. Cockpit view. "The appearance of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) visual information does not imply or constitute DoD endorsement."
@@ReachAviation ok thanks just curious how things have changed. They were required for us and heaven forbid a rolled up sleeve. Automatic Q3. Good videos, thanks for posting
Its an instructor-ism. Right seater is a fairly new copilot in the herk and the left seat instructor has his hands closer just in case he needs to take the plane.
When can we expect your next longer video sir? Really enjoy what you are doing. I grew up near LRAFB, so I've been around the Herc my entire life. Got to crew E / H model from 1992-1995 in the AR ANG.
@@superskullmaster Are you a C-130 crewman? dude you dont even have a place to piss 😭🤣 aside from all advanced systems that my bird has and yours don't, the fact that I don't have to shit in a bucket is my favorite 🤣
It’s interesting to see the pilots take it over the gate and just shove it forward. No temp or torque limits, just let the FADEC do its thing. I haven’t had a chance to try this but I wonder if setting the frames per second up to 60 fps would help with the MFD refresh rate.
Just a question - you guys don't use gloves anymore for takeoffs and landings?
No. At least as long as i have been in the herk, it hasnt been a requirement.

What is that mist i keep seeing comming out of the instrument panel.that did’nt occure in the RH-53d i crewed?
Nice cold air conditioned air vs a very humid environment. The J has two awesome air conditioning packs.
Been on many one way trips in these birds.
Essa aeronave é incrível! Aqui no Brasil a FAB o ultilizou por muitos anos.
Hate to ask a stupid question but why the second pair of hands on the bottom of the throttle?

It's an aviation tradition. You can see this a lot in commercial flights.
You might want to turn the AC up lmao
Think it was about 110F outside, Ill take all the AC I can get.

@@thenikonjones probably another week or two. I have stuff recorded but haven't been home long enough to work on anything.

Sir, I just wonder, is there bathroom in this aircraft?
It does. Flushable and all. Better than the buckets of the past as long as you dont mind the shoddy curtain around it for privacy.
looks old compared to the cockpit of the KC-390
Those aren’t selling no matter how much you may want them to. If it’s not broken you don’t fix it. Stay mad. 🤭🤭

Brazilian trash, that's what the KC-390 is.
